  1. Not a bad contract depending on the structure. That’s Zay Jones money. 14 million guaranteed and I bet we have an easy out after year 2 just like the previous contracts. Should wait to see the structure but I bet it’s really a 2 year deal.
  2. We are completely revamping our QB and skill positions while strengthening our already promising defense and O line. This coaching staff + these moves are extremely encouraging.
  3. Amazing. Will be stealing this asap and using in the future. Sorry in advance
  4. Gantt seems to suggest we keep Corral: Mailbag: Question: I've been a Panthers fan since day one and am a regular reader of your column. After reading about the quarterback situation, I have one question: Why are we not talking about Matt Corral? He set records at Ole Miss, has a lightning-fast release and at least one pundit had him rated as the No. 1 QB prospect in the draft last year. Not to mention the fact that we traded up to get him! In all the QB conversations surrounding the Panthers this year, I gotta say that leaving him out of the conversation seems a bit ridiculous. — Skip, Greensboro, NC Answer: Yeah, we never get the Weekly Matt Corral question in here. Thank goodness Skip brought that up. I joke about that, but the Corral thing is pertinent again because of the recent quarterback-specific deal. For one thing, Corral's still working his way back from last year's foot injury. As football injuries go, a Lisfranc is one of the big ones. Head coach Frank Reich acknowledged as much at the combine when he said he wasn't sure Corral was going to be ready for the start of OTAs. So his getting healthy again is the first step. But the other thing to remember in all the attention on the one quarterback is that you almost always need more than one. So having another young quarterback with some promise on the roster is a good thing, not a bad one. Once upon a time, Washington traded up to take Robert Griffin III. They used a fourth-round pick that same year on some guy named Kirk Cousins. You never know how these things are going to turn out. Obviously, moving up to the first pick makes the guy you take there the priority, but Corral is already here and paid for. The same set of coaches who will be good for the first pick's development will be good for Corral's. Anybody who thinks they're going to sell him for pennies on the dollar doesn't understand the game. I'm sure other teams will call to see if they're willing to give Corral away. There's no reason for them to do that, and I don't believe they're inclined to. https://www.panthers.com/news/ask-the-old-guy-what-a-time-to-be-alive
  5. Very reasonable contract for a 25 year old 1200 yard leading rusher. Being that we have an out after 2 years is huge with very low dead cap. Another smart signing and smarter structure
  6. Gesicki is basically WR. We got Hurst who is much better all around as a TE for an average of 7 million per season, although we used his cap hit as flexibility to lower it this season so that we can sign more weapons. Hurst had a very good year and would have had much better receiving stats if the Beangles didn’t have so many injuries on the O line. He was ask to block much more in the second half of the season due to this. There is a reason why we signed him long term and why Gesicki got a one year deal. We also have an out after 2 years with only 2 million dead cap so again, great flexibility on a well rounded TE who seems to be getting better with age. Gesicki is a one truck pony that’s why he’s 27 and only getting a one year deal
  7. No one should be mad. We got the best available running back to hit the free agent market. Young, dynamic, 1200 yard lead RB who will do wonders helping our franchise rookie QB. We spent money on him and will have Chuba and possibly a rookie as cheap secondary options.
  8. Not extremely mad about it. His injury history was hard to look past. As long as we get one vet WR and draft one with our high 2nd round pick we will be okay. If you sign Foreman we will have a big safety net for the rookie QB which will be a lot of running game. Either way we are in a good position. Chark is who I am hoping for or Hardman
  9. Some of the Huddle vs the other side of the huddle anytime we sign someone.
  10. Any vet would be beneficial and his play in the field was good when healthy. I firmly believe we go with the best WR available with our high 2nd round pick anyway now that we signed Hurst.
  11. Great pickup we will absolutely draft BPA at WR with our 2nd round pick. Let’s sign Thielen and re sign foreman and this has been an absolute home run off-season compared to where we ended the season.
  12. Fully agree. I have no doubt we still pick a TE or WR with our round 2 pick no matter what, but if we sign Thielen, any other FA WR or rookie would have to be a speedster as we wouldn’t really have any on the roster other than Shi Smith. Hardman would be another great pickup
  13. QB: CJ Stroud RB: Foreman/Chubba WR: Thielen, TMJ, 2nd round WR, Laviska TE: Shultz/Tremble/Thomas LT: Icky LG: Christensen C:White Buffalo RG: Corbett RT: Moton
  14. DONT LET THAT MAN LEAVE!!!! Sign a vet TE and draft a stud WR with our high 2nd round pick. Re sign Foreman and absolutely ace this off-season!!!!
  15. Lol at the people mad at this. It’s exactly what we needed, cheap vet QB who can mentor and will be decent if called upon. We didn’t sign him to be a starter….our new rookie franchise QB will be counted on each week.
  16. 2 year 20 million for Heinicke? Good pass. We should pick up an old vet who is cheap. Our rookie will clearly be starting so no need to spend money on a backup, just a vet presence will do
