  1. After 3 years of a QB room with only one egg in the basket, it's time for a different approach. 1. Trade Bryce to anyone for anything especially if they take on his salary, 2, Cut Dalton, should have never signed him to begin with. 3. For what or just a little more salary cap saved on BY. sign two of the FA "reclaim projects", Sam, Trey, or other. Tell both they will fight it out for the starting spot & have 3-4 months before TC to get ready. 4. Draft a QB on day 3, plan for him to sit and learn for a year at least. He may not turn into a starter but backup spot has turned into a dire need around the league. There are some interesting QBs from lesser known programs that will be available, some as UDFAs. 5. If Bryce is untradable, take our medicine and cut him anyway.
  2. Don't bury Baker yet! He has been known to play well while banged up. Counting on the Buc's failure, does not translate into our success.
  3. Bryce's performance Sunday, moved his trade value up from a mid day 3 conditional to a late day 2 conditional. IMO.
  4. Right now there are three west coast NFC teams in a 1-2 game window of winning the division or out of the playoffs. San Fran know this and are very unlikely to not give their best effort. I look for them to follow the Saints game plan in shutting down our running game but unlike Atlanta keeping a Defence lineman in front of BY. They may not get a sack, but if they induce BY back into the "bunny hop" throws, it may work better for them, IMO. SF 27 CAR 13
  5. Who is/are this "us" you are referring to? As for me, I've seen more than enough for the past 2+ years for me. We are in a QB hole & the first thing to get out is to stop digging.
  6. This. Don't forget the draft began in 1936. 90 first overall picks. 10 years of AFL drafts before merger. Add in a few years of USFL drafts. Over 100 first overall draft picks & yes, Bryce does crack the top ten busts, IMO.
  7. Definition of insanity: doing the same thing over and over again expecting different results. We've had the same QB room for three years and have had enough excuses posted here to wallpaper BOA. Dalton was spent out before he got here. Young is the same player overall that he has been since he started, IMO. Time to start over regardless of the cost. Nothing will be gained by delaying.
  8. QB question #2 for 2026 was answered yesterday. IMO, question #1 has already been answered, but many on the Huddle say otherwise. IMO, all new QB room in 2026.
  9. If this game had been played 2-3 weeks ago, I could have seen Buffalo over looking the Panthers and paying the price. Right now, the Bills are on the edge of losing their division, wild card game on the road, or missing the play-offs with a loss today & a few more miss steps. Look for them to use this game to "get right". IMO
  10. We have seen this too many times. Rookies, second year & even third year players have trouble with the lesson that a position in the NFL is a 12 month job. There is no off season. To succeed in the NFL, you must constantly work on your craft. That means watching your diet, limit the donuts & fried chicken, hitting the gym or weight room several times a week. In his case, practicing routes weekly until you can run them blindfolded & hitting the Juggs til your arms fall off. Watch game films when no one is looking instead of vegging out on Netflix. I'm sure good people can add to the list.
  11. Actually, it's an age-old problem. Nobody wants to admit they were wrong & don't do anything to correct, thinking tomorrow will prove them right. The problem blew up to outer space levels as the internet expands with the problem reaches almost every facet of life as we know it. I recall the levels of hype preceding the Fitterer/Frank/Young combo that was going to rule the NFL for years. Hundreds of Huddle pages & thousands of posts over the past 3 years later, there are still posters who still point fingers, never admitting any failure on their part.
  12. Am ready to watch some football regardless if it's college or pro. That would be a 10. Dreading the 3yr old antics on the pre-game shows & sifting through the excuses on the Huddle from some posters who end up wrong. That would be a 0. Average a 5 for me.
  13. Good, nah, better, maybe. one good series in a preseason game is not nearly enough to wash the past.
  14. Please do not forget that everything the NFL does is for the increase in revenue. If a big market team draws more money [ticket sales, betting revenue, TV ratings & etc.] when they play at home versus on the road in the playoffs, you can safely be sure the NFL knows & will act accordingly. Just like the draft lottery proposal, if the NFL can capture TV ratings for it, they will.
  15. Morgan & Canales have put in the work to fix the Oline & turned over a lot of rocks to hopefully improve the WR room. Now is the time for BY to put in the effort to improve & fix his flaws. Despite what some believe he has much to get better on. When his feet are right, he is top 10 QB, if not, a bottom 10. He just does not have the arm to overcome bad feet. He along with all of the other 1-2-3 year players need to be working on their game the whole off season, when the path to success is put down. Canales & all the coaching staff need to be pushing all the team to the extent the CBA allows. The last thing Bryce needs is to sit during preseason games.
  16. Jerry has been riding the coat tails of Jimmy, Troy & others for 30 years. In a semi-quote, DAMN THE DRAFT SPOT, FULL SPEED AHEAD. Give Jerry a beat down he deserves.
  17. Tampa is playing for a playoff spot. Panthers a playing to improve/evaluate players for the future. Panthers cover but lose by 4.
  18. As the adage goes "the defining of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again". We have had 2 years of Bryce & Andy as plan A & B. Time to change one or both. Salary cap & draft assets may restrict changing plan A, but plan B can be changed much more easily. IMO, They need to add a plan C in the form of drafting a QB in the 2nd or 3rd, with the intent to let him sit & learn & get into NFL shape for a year or at least 8-10 games.
  19. The Panthers can't beat the Eagles unless they fall apart. The Bucs, Falcons, & Cardinals are all in must win spots today for a playoff spot or their division titles. The Cowboys are playing much better team ball since me-me-me went on IR. One win possible in the rest of season, IMO
  20. If you [Morgan & Canales] believe in a QB who will be the next Newton/Manning/Mahomes, when the Panthers pick, you have to pick him. If not pick the next Peppers. Please turn off ESPN/Kiper & without Tepper in the room when you decide. Morgan, please bring in some QB insurance besides Young for 2025. This was a shortcoming of your work in 2024.
  21. Ever since Tepper bought the team we have been hyped as "play-off bound" by somebody, Starting with RR/MH [95%MH], then MR/MH, then MR/SF, then the super-max hype from FR/SF. Tepper is guilty of falling for it along with a lot of Huddlers [even those that will never admit it] We are hardly the first team to have both a bad HC & GM. When we get to 10-20 years of such then we'll fit in with the worst. As far as next season goes: I am looking for improved play pointing to long term success. If Bryce proves what I think wrong & turns into a NFL QB great. But right now I'm looking at the other players proving themselves for 2025 & 2026 & beyond.
  22. Just a fluff piece to keep clicks & job going. IMO, Not to worried. Morgan will sign another QB before the season starts via waiver-cuts/UFL & Young will be "injured" by Thanksgiving. IMO.
  23. For a QB, draft value charts have been thrown out the window, historically. Future first or second + 2nd or 3rd, or no deal.
  24. Much better if you look at it with more of a long term outlook. Morgan & Tilis have not spent a lot of future salary cap or draft capital that Fitt-Rhule/Reich were so fond of. They have recovered some of the cap & draft capital previously spent with some timely cuts & trades. 2024 will be rough, but 2025-26 are looking vastly better as a result.
  25. Sorry to disappoint anyone but ,IMO, there is no chance any draftee, FA, or HC hire that will move the Panthers from dead last into at best 20th in the league. Thanks Fitterer & Tepper for your trades, non trades, draft picks, FA signings, over paying of some players, & the list goes on. Face the facts, 2024 will be a washed out year, IMO. First thing I think they should do is put Burns on a non-ex FA tag, if somebody wants him for even firsts in 25 & 26. If he holds out, save the salary cap for 25 & 26. The 2nd round should be BPA except QB, drafting a QB is too much like putting premium in a clunker with bald tires. IF somebody wants to trade up for our pick, make sure to get at least a 2nd in 24 & a 2nd or better in 25. Right now draft BPA in every round. The team needs a new/different player across the roster.
