Unnecessary Bluntness podcast on Canales and preseason approach
45catfan replied to Icege's topic in Carolina Panthers
A typical mock. Players would change, but the position groups remained fairly consistent. Going back quickly through that mock thread Just about everyone took a center. -

That or waiting to final cuts to bring in/trade for an actual center. I chuckled when I frist found out that Corbett was going to be our center this season. If healthy, he'll probably do the best he can, but surely he will be the weak link in the OL. -
Specifically, nobody yet. However, here's what I want in the draft (no particular order) QB (backup) WR C OLB CB T NT

I also said we should have drafted a center. Again, what do I know? It pains me to see as a casual observer, with no formal football scouting training, the blatantly obvious moves this team should make and they end up going completely in a different direction. -
Panthers Practice August 12: Compliment Sandwich Edition

Can't let you suffer through this season alone. Misery loves company my friend. We stick with this team no matter what. -
Not all guac is the same, just like anything else. I've had amazing, and I've had some that I imagine dog poo would taste like.

Panthers release a kicker, shore up offensive line

He's a Catamount. That's the important part. -
Three hours of my life I'll never get back. Seriously thinking about taking up a new hobby this fall. I can't be wasting my Sunday afternoons like that.

I'd take either in a heartbeat over what we have as QB3.

Panthers add another tight end on Monday
45catfan replied to Carolina Panthers's topic in Carolina Panthers
Nah, that was Hollister that we signed the other day. This dude signed today is about on par with Sullivan. This team will never learn in the Tepper era. The Walls and Olsen days of the dominant Panthers TEs are long over. Now it's where scrub TEs come to play for a hot minute to say they were in the NFL before heading back to their regular jobs at Walmart. Hopefully the rookie, Sanders, can break us out of our TE funk. -
Panthers shore up tight end room with a Sunday signing

He'll give Ian Thomas a run for his money. That being said, he's a scrub. -
Yes, Wonnum is a Gamecock too and Clowney has missed significant time throughout his career with various injuries. I am not anti-Gamecock, I just noticed a pattern. Call it coincidence, but it's hard to not see the trend.

Don't forget about Shi Smith.

Xavier Legette left practice early with lower leg injury
45catfan replied to PantherBoy95's topic in Carolina Panthers
I have been almost totally disinterested in the Panthers since the draft, but isn't this Legette's second injury already? -
Don't worry, they will sign a scrub to replace him. No-name incoming.
-
Another Lamecock injury I see. These dudes are made of glass.

Yup. Fool me once... The roster is not considerably better. Better coached? That remains to be seen. Bryce should take a step forward, well, because he couldn't do any worse. With better coaching, more consistent QB play and a marginally better roster, that should get us to 3-4 more wins over last year. Just make the games watchable and I'll be happy.

Yup, 6 wins is about where I'm at. I think we hit the Matt Rhule 5 win mark, but struggle to get the sixth one. We beat some bad teams teams like Washington, Cardinals and Denver. We won't go winless in the division, so maybe 2 home wins in the NFCS. The Bears aren't bad, but have a rookie QB, so if he has a bad day there's possibly another win. I can see us catching either the Giants, Raiders or Chargers on a bad day for one more win, potentially two. If thins go a about as good as I can see them going, there's a possible 9 wins on the schedule. That said, we have a black cat as our mascot, so temper those expectations by a few games and you get the 5 or 6 wins I'm expecting. I think we are winless on the road within the division. We are not beating the Eagles, Cowboys, Chiefs, or Bengals. We drop at least one more road game against the either the Raiders, Broncos or Bears. That's how I arrived at he 9 win at best total.

How the Carolina Panthers found themselves in the worst situation
45catfan replied to philw5289's topic in Carolina Panthers
Yup, it really is that simple. Tepper was not ready to be an NFL owner, maybe he never will be. Dave simply had the money the NFL sought from a new owner and Tepper had an interest in buying a team. It's been all downhill ever since. One bungle, flub, misstep, boneheaded move after another. A comedy of errors and laughable to everyone else in the sports world except the Panthers emotionally wrecked fan base. -
The video was okay. Since these have been done for a few years now, it doesn't move the needle for me much anymore. I came away feeling no different about this team than I did prior to viewing it. I guess the best parts were the Morgan segments. I'm unsure he's going to be a great GM, but you can tell he loves this team and area, so if he fails, it won't be from indifference.
