Who are the top QB prospects for the 2015 draft?
45catfan replied to Panthero's topic in 2015 NFL Draft
I just found out last nights stat line was not for the entire game. He got pulled at HALFTIME! His younger brother is his backup at Indiana and played the entire second half. Wow! Dude did all that damage in one half of play. I got tipped off by the commentator in one of the highlight clips saying his first name wrong; they didn't. Fernado was on the sideline watching his baby bro Alberto who did decent himself. -
Complete homers. I'll give you three letters, actually two: U_C. The nut-huggers stole the N.

Someone should tell him not to Trey Lance his career by rushing to get into the League. I'm pretty sure he's on a NIL deal, so it's not like he's eating Ramen out of his dorm room microwave 3x a day. -

Nice zip, but not a cannon. Mendoza will never be mistaken for Josh Allen, however he ran one to the house and TD passes form all spots on the field. The only thing I would have like to seen is his touch on a deep go route. The fade pass for the tuddy was absolute money; couldn't have been placed any better. -

McShay loves this kid. I've already looked at some of his tape. He's got all the tools, but not elite...yet. One thing he has you can't coach is size. He's still young and developing. Indiana has a tall order in the Big 10 this season, so there should be a lot of tape on him in the coming months against some really good teams. -
Jared Feinberg's Panthers v Jaguars film review
45catfan replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
I said that teams will watch the end of season film from last year and catch on to the 'adjustments' that Bryce made in the second half of the season last year. Rolling out to his right was a big part of it. Seems the Jags noticed this in film study. -
We better not pick up that option either. Seriously.

Smith-Wade was the only one I liked for the value. I gave up getting pissed off during the draft. It's not worth it any more.

And to think Payton Wilson was there for the taking and we kept passing over him, eventually taking Wallace. Wilson looks pretty solid as a Steeler.

Bruh, if we get swept by the Saints I may have to get my Panther tattoo removed.

OFFICIAL Week 1: Panthers @ Jaguars Game Day Thread
45catfan replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
My guess is Harbaugh wouldn't commit to Bryce and Tepper is all in on little man. He has to be after what we gave up for him. You would think as a hedge fund manager he would know we to cut bait on a losing proposition. -
To be fair, he was coming off a major injury and the reason he wasn't taken higher. Any team that drafted him knew it was essentially a redshirt season as he came back from surgery.

"be patient and look for your qb in '24" Hmmm...I was public enemy #1 for saying this. Several of you even gave me the nickname 'Mr. wait-until-next-year.' Heck even QB6 in that draft class looks worlds better than Young.

There is always a dark horse or two that charges to the head of the pack by the end of the season and the reason I went to 11. Mendoza is a name to keep an eye on. -
By the same account, I wonder if they dinged him for the shovel pass INT that got gifted back?

PFF Offense Grades: T-Mac, Hunt and Young adorn the top 3
45catfan replied to Saca312's topic in Carolina Panthers
Our TE room has been garbage every since Greg left. I have screamed from the mountain tops about this and all we do pick day 3 guys. Yes, Tremble was a 3rd rounder, but by all accounts was a day 3 prospect that Rhule drafted too high. Then there the "steals" at the top of the 4th round.... They 'drop' to day 3 for a reason, they aren't that good. THE Ian Thomas being prime example #1. Dude was like a bad rash that wouldn't go away. -

Those TE grades! Awesome! -
You know what they say about good intentions. By stacking the offense for Young and basically ignoring the defense, Bryce is going to have to play catch up nearly every game all season and we can all guess how that's going to work out. He's his best in a lead and can lean on an effective rushing attack. I just don't see that happening very often with this mess of a defense. I do feel bad for the defense and even Evero to an extent. Derrick Brown is going to need to be a one man wrecking crew.

You have to start from scratch...new coach, GM and QB. Otherwise there will be infighting about who compromised who when things aren't going well if their tenures overlap. All three starting at ground level will have them connected at the hip and give less room fro the inevitable finger pointing during rough patches.
-
This is not counting Moton's contract which will drop us below $40M and into the low 20's for all team cap space. This didn't have to happen, but the brass went all-in on Bryce. We could have let him walk, went with one of our current guys or signed a RT much cheaper. In an ironic kind of way it's going to cement Bryce's downfall if he can't turn it around. If he's not getting pressured/being sacked and he still stinks, we know Bryce has got to go.
-
That doesn't mean you have to nearly max out though. It was a desperate signing to keep Bryce's OL fully intact in an attempt to save Bryce's job for 2026 and the coaching staff as well. That's why we went WR in round 1...again and drafted a RB as well as a TE fully knowing our defense needed all the help they could get.
-
We won't go 0-17, but we aren't making the playoffs either. So people are either going to be gleeful for our 5-ish wins and clamor for "more time" while the other camp will want to clean house. The clean house crowd will definitely have more leverage by the end of the season.

Tepper is still pulling the strings

Kinda of like when Hurney went on a GM search as a consultant and the best candidate he found was himself, lol! -

I'm sure glad we chose Wallace over Payton Wilson.
