You know what, I got nothing going on tonight, I can spend some time to call you out. Offensive HCs and if they call plays themselves: Andy Reid - Y Kyle Shanahan - Y Sean Payton - Y Zac Taylor - Y Dan Campbell - N Doug Pederson - Y Matt LeFleur - Y Shane Steichen - Y Brian Dabol - N Kevin Stefanski - Y Mike McCarthy - Y Mike McDaniel - Y (never called plays before getting the Miami) Kevin O'Connell - Y Nick Sirriani - N What is that? 20%? Seems like 80% of offensive HC's calling plays does equate to that being the norm. Please do some homework next time so you don’t get laughed at.
-
Are you stupid or just can't read? Re-read my post. See where I said OFFENSIVE head coaches? Now remind me, what is Todd Bowles background? Please do some homework next time so you don’t get laughed at
-
This is the norm for offensive HCs. See Super Bowl
-
You think 4000 yards and a 3:1 TD to INT ratio is an average top 20 qb? Excuse me?
-
Hell I think it’s smart. Why leave now when you can get Hurts, Dak, or Lawrence next year? If the Commanders had first pick he goes… Drake Maye is a big drop off from Caleb
-
There's no way I let him go assuming Canales is on board with keeping him, and I think he is. I'm sorry but you signed a 2 year contract and will be getting 3M to coach here next season, you're fine. Best thing for the team as well to get the two 3rd round comp picks next year as well.
-
either way I extend/restructure Moton and keep him here and happy. Dude has been nothing but solid for us for years of chaos and his play this year hasn't really shown any decline. Don't let good tackles go. I probably switch BC and Icky but trust the new coaching staff on whatever they decide to do there and wouldnt hate if they left Icky at LT as him developing into an actual good LT would be massive for us. I'd also overspend a bit for a decent FA swing tackle.
-
How do we know Canales didn’t come in and say that dude held me to 30 points over 2 games, do whatever to keep him here as DC?
-
Yeah there’s no rush for them. Commanders are getting Ben Johnson, they have their pick at any DC they like

Tony Pauline: Campen was Tepper's "eyes and ears"

How so? I imagine it went from bad to worse week of Frank’s firing. We’ve essentially reset the entire thing now internally -

They’re gone except maybe Caldwell now -

Wow. Really like this move if we pull it off. This has gotta be the last major FO spot we’re trying to fill -
I don’t know about that. Mingo had like 450 this year in a horrible offense and had some really impressive flashes. TMJ had what? 200 yards total his rookie year? I think I remember one play he’s even done that stood out and pretty sure that was year 2.
-
Yeah not seeing that. TMJ is atrocious. Mingo is raw and not well coached.
-
What? How could one even come to this conclusion?
-
maybe it was fake, im not seeing this anywhere

Some good advice from Ron. I gotta imagine Canales is able to speed dial Carrol whenever he needs now that he isn't coaching and that has to be a huge advantage.
-
yeah it's really not that far away if we're willing to spend the money there. we could go from last to 16-20ish range by doing what you said
-
Ultimately all HC and GMs report to the owner, so this isn't like a weird only Panthers thing. If there are 2 legit people (Dan and whoever this other new hire) between Tepp and Canales, I'd be pretty content with that.
-
dude this is literally why i asked. because i didnt know and was unclear from googling it. calm yourself bro

I think I feel the same way, but also double edged sword. What does Pete want to do? Would he come here and really push coaching decisions like we heard last year with Reich and all this experience on staff? Or would he be a pretty silent but helpful resource in the background? Who knows, but yeah would be good to explore that
-
He's under contract and paid well. Unless he gets a HC offer or Canales just hates him (he scored 30 points total against us in 2 games, so he should be pretty impressed) I think he stays.
-
One thing that is going for him... Pete Carrol is one of the best culture builders to ever do it. He's the rare type that could do it both in college and NFL which means his system truly works. Pete hired Canales to USC from COMMUNITY COLLEGE and has followed him everywhere and worked his way up until he left for the Bucs. That's almost 15 years of seeing exactly how Pete does team building at different stops. Gotta imagine a lot of that stuck with Canales.
-
I think I like the hire, but I don't like the timing. It feels a little rushed and i wish we finished the interview process with other candidates..... but at the same time the public has no idea what's going on beyond the scene and we might have known who was already unofficially out. Basically I know nothing and have no idea what to think and am ready for more hurt but cautiously optimistic.

Thanks for posting. His offense is the anti-Reich and everything I was hoping we'd incorporate to make life easier for our rookie qb with the worst skill room in the league. No excuses for Bryce, this is a scheme he can and should excel in, we will know this time next year if we have our qb or need to go shopping 2025. He also just seems like a good likeable dude from this vid you posted... that stuff can go a long way with players and the locker room. Reich seemed to be so nonchalant about everything and i think it may have killed the energy in the building
