Hornets Acquire Montrezl Harrell from Washington
HardcoreHokie replied to MillionDollarCam's topic in Charlotte Hornets
Hornets shooting for an all 6’7 lineup. 1: LaMelo Ball (6’7) 2: Gordon Hayward (6’7) 3: Miles Bridges (6’7) 4: Montrezl Harrell (6’7) 5: PJ Washington (6’7) (I kid, I kid. Kinda.) -

I like Montrezl, surprised we didn’t move PJ. -
Hornets trying to trade PJ for a big man

You probably know as little about Yurt as I do...but look him up. 23 year old 7-footer and better rim protector and scorer than what we have (Plumlee). PJ Washington is not a star, nevermind a starter on the 9th place team. This is not a barn-burner trade, it’s a slight upgrade at C and maybe PF if Morris becomes available soon. (This trade is still a rumor for the record). -

He’s been suffering from whiplash. Sabonis is hit him hard in the back/neck in October. He’s been wanting to play the past month but Miami has been holding him back. I like the Morris brothers a lot as “enforcers” at the PF position. And a true 7’0 center in Yurt...I’ll take that deal. We could use (need!) both. I hope this deal happens. (Note: KZ was just traded earlier today so he won’t be in this possible deal). -

https://heatnation.com/rumors/report-miami-heat-interested-in-trading-omer-yurtseven-kz-okpala-or-markieff-morris-for-p-j-washington/ Here’s an article from the past few minutes that confirms the interest. And it has a Heat insider as a source. -

Marcus Morris is on the Clippers. Markieff Morris is on the Heat and has been injured all season. Assuming they meant Markieff. -
So let’s package (PJ and Plumlee or a rookie) for a modest upgrade at the starting 5 that plays some D. No need to give up draft picks, as per this recent deal indicates. Not mortgaging the future, but some options above that would fit the new bill.

Guessing this means they decided to keep Myles Turner. Damn.

Borrego and Bouknight get into it
HardcoreHokie replied to Captain Morgan's topic in Charlotte Hornets
Malik Monk just scored 29 points for Lebron’s Lakers and led them to a key win. The game before he had 21 points, 7 boards, and 7 assists. And before that he had 33 points, 10 boards, 5 assists. This is on a league minimum $1.7 million contract. We will end up regretting letting that dude go. -
You do realize there is only so much money to go towards the entire team, right? Tepper can’t just pay everyone with his billions, there is actually a salary cap for all teams. Do we need QB, OL, S, DL, LB...or just put everything into RB and WR.

They’re a chain now. They are kinda all over.

Aaron Rodgers didn’t start a single NFL game until he was 25. Darnold just turned 24 and has 38 NFL starts. People are way too early to judge, but I see serious talent and football IQ in Sam. Tons of potential. (Dan Orlavsky and Terry Bradshaw seem to agree as well).
-
Nobody actually responded to this. Who would you rather start tomorrow and the rest of this year?
-
You’re the GM and everything is equal: Ryan Tannehill or Sam Darnold?
-
Sam Howell’s ceiling: Baker Mayfield I’ll take the Sam we have over that all day long.
-
He’s leading the league in rushing touchdowns. Not QB’s, ALL players (Zeke, Henry, CMC, all players. At quarterback.)
-
3,800 yards is 237 yards per game. Darnold already has 301, 304, 305, 297. And 10 touchdowns through four games. And those are just stats, I’m talking about film.

Floor: Ryan Tannehill Ceiling: Aaron Rodgers Watching the tape, dude is extremely talented.

Thoughts on Hornets 2022 Rotation?
HardcoreHokie replied to HardcoreHokie's topic in Charlotte Hornets
If this is truly the case, they need to trade PJ Washington now and get something of value for him. Can’t see him getting re-signed if he can’t push for a starting position. -

Are we THAT loaded at the 3 (Hayward, Miles, Oubre) and that lacking at the 4 (just PJ)? Seems like a move needs to be made. -

Who else do we have at the 2? Cody Martin? -
Taking my shot at it: 1.) LaMelo, Ish 2.) Terry, Bouknight 3.) Miles, Oubre 4.) Hayward, PJ, Vernon 5.) Plumlee, Kai, Richards

The Draft Thread/Center,Center,Center

3rd? -
18th all time in yards AND HE’S STILL PLAYING AND ELITE. You can have Henry Ellard, Chris Carter, James Lofton, Tim Brown, Isaac Bruce, etc. All great careers. I’ll take Julio Jones. And again, those guys played a long time...Julio will too.
