Allbright put money on it that he isn't going there. I really think it will xome down to the compensation. Does HOU think Mayfield is worth a 1st rounder? Doubt it. Also, worth keeping in mind that we're sending a 6th overall pick this year compared to whatever theirs is. Much more value for HOU. I really think it comes down to Mayfield. But I'm gonna trust Allbright.

Pretty much confirms everything everyone here with any sense has speculated. Good to hear.

I'm am going to track all your posts for the rest of the day to pie you, fwiw, because I just laughed harder than I have at something I have read in a very long time. That was fuging hilarious. Well done.

While I agree, if it's not LA, NY, MIA, etc., teams winning is a huge factor in the coverage we get... But man, there is more to it than you are letting on. What have the Cowboys done every year, basically since the triplets retired besides flail out of contention? Yet, every season it never fails, they are taking up the airwaves nonstop. They may have been super popular for bandwagoners between the Landry Years up through the 90s, but nobody gives a flying poo about that wack ass team besides people that were born into fandom with them. Yet, they are talked about incessantly as though they are one of the NFL's flagship teams. They fuging suck. They do nothing but disappoint every fuging year. Hell, the Browns historically suck, and they got plenty of airtime the last 2 years between the Baker stuff, Myles Garrett, and OBJ. But have anything they've done truly merit that attention? Especially last season? No. The NFL has constantly, throughout our history, used us as a prop for other teams and better storylines. Media, for the most part, are fed the stories they are to push by their corporate partners (in this case the NFL)... so, there is definitely more to it besides "we just suck. No one is picking on us."

And right after I posted that, I see Verge says thats likely the target.

Also, we need to find a creative way to sign Armstead, not only bc we can use him, but bc it would really screw the Aints. Also, imagine a starting OL of Armstead/BC/Lindenbaum or Bozeman/Corbett/Moton. We are immediately in bully mode.

Thank you for all you do, @Verge. You are trusted and appreciated. F the haters.

Idk... we had the report earlier in the offseason, iirc, that Burns was the one untouchable on our roster. Also, I've repeatedly said all over these threads, no matter the picks it takes, we should use whatever we have to keep Chinn and Burns, and I maintain that... but if it comes down to it, the golden rule in the NFL is hierarchy of importance to a team is QB, pass rushers, and franchise tackles (typically LTs) - So, going off that, if theybhave to pick between giving them Chinn and Burns, it's likely Chinn they give up. But, it's likely HOU wants Burns more. Hence the compromise of trades, but F them... they can find their own players with the bevy of picks we're giving them. So again, I reiterate, if at all possible, we need to bribe them with picks to keep Burns and Chinn here.

Man, so relieved! I was scared someone was gonna get him from us! Whew!!!

They definitely are... I said the same thing yesterday. When we have been the frontrunner, the national media dies down to a whisper. When another team seemed to be getting in the driver's seat, they were frothing at the mouth to tweet, retweet, and report.

Damn. I knew a bit about Allbright before this week, but since intently following the Watson stuff, he has quickly become one of my favorites.

Despite the weak package, i actually think him meeting with the Browns is more bc if the Texans interest than his. As dumb as the McNairs are, I could see them thinking Baker gets them where they want to be a lot quicker and he's a Texas guy, so they might think he could help them rebound quickly with fans and sales. I just don't see why Deshaun would be all that interested despite the good structure in place. It probably is the best team top to bottom on both sides of the ball with the best coach, or at least known quantity in a coach, out of the 3 teams we know of... but, at the end of the day, it's Cleveland.

Whoa! The Watson Saga even brought CatMan72 out of the shadows!

Panthers close to deal with G Austin Corbett

Yeah he's full of poo. Looked at his page and he doesn't appear to be affiliated with KC in any way. Radio show seems to be independent/small-time. That would be like Joe Ovies or Adam Gold from the Raleigh stations here saying they heard something about another NFL team/player. And when is the last three way trade we've seen in the NFL? And Brady announced he was coming back just for the Bucs to try to trade him? Yeah, ok.

I agree. It just doesn't make sense for them... that being said, fug them. If Watson narrows it down to just us, and thats clear between both us and HOU, the price may come down a bit. Also, after we acquire Watson, we should sign Armstead as @TheCasillassuggested earlier, just to further their cap hell for fuging with us on this deal.

Browns are playing with fire. As Sheena said, its likely HOU blocks all AFC teams from talking with him, and they still have Baker there. I dont blame them, but just doesn't seem like a smart thing to do. They may end up causing themselves more problems. As a side note though, I wonder if something has changed though bc last season, they supposedly did at least entertain offers from MIA. So maybe they only are deny requests within their division, but not the AFC as a whole?
