I agree and I think this forum’s expectations are way, way too high. The staff did what they could with the offense this season, so props for that, but it wasn’t ideal. We do have excellent building blocks in a LT (thank god), a premier pass rusher, and hopefully a QB, which is an excellent start to build a team. A CB would be a huge boost/cherry on top but still a ?. Build. That’s the word. Because hopefully when Young is blooming 2-3 years in, most the oline will be of age and with Shaq aging our LBs personal will be terrifying in a bad way. Not to mention Brown needs to poo or get off the pot and there is no offensive threat like Burrow has for example. So the future relies on this FO to bolster/replace the oline and be very keen on what is going on with Brown and Horn. How those two turn out will determine a lot and affect time for success. Get a young offensive weapon. And properly develop Young. In short, I love the recipe’s ingredients thus far but we aren’t ready to have a five star meal yet. People need to be patient. I see a LOT of defensive issues this year and I can see offensive limitations and lots of mistakes on that side. But I do see a line that will hold and allow Young to grow and that’s most important. I see winning 8 or more games as a very good sign.

I got absolutely thrashed on this forum for saying Rhule was trash and should’ve been fired year before last. There are absolutely idiots left here. You know who you are. Actually, you probably don’t. There are some posters here who think literally everything and anything this franchise does is the right move (despite being one of the worst record wise) and anyone who says otherwise they just give poo to.

Something has to give. You have to have a beastly front or a backend that can hold for 3+ seconds to compete. I wouldn’t be mad at all if they decided it was easier to do the former and make this happen. Is there any DB even worth a poo available? Of course is it even possible? Probably not. And we will even be competitive this year for it to matter? Doubtful. Still with our spotty front and hampered DBs…it’s not going to be good. But this is all part of accepting the fact we simply won’t be ready for a couple years. And we desperately need top picks to start blooming into a worthwhile starter or stop getting injured.

Honestly won’t know until 2025. I know it’s not popular, but waiting three years will be the tell all. History reflects the third year is judgment day. If the Panthers are not in the deep playoffs by then Tepper needs to clean house and hire some advisors ASAP. And quite frankly that’d be eight years of failure and personally, I won’t be watching every game anymore as I suspect many here won’t either. When you get towards a decade of ineptitude, it’s nearly impossible to recover. That said, I think at that time when Carr is on the backend, it’ll be the Falcons or Panthers to take the lead and the Panthers absolutely have to be ahead. Time will tell.

Yea but no doubt he could go to a contender and try for a ring. At least play in some deep playoff games. Despite the homerism on this forum, that’s pretty unlikely in the next couple of years here with a rookie qb and new HC. In fact I don’t think that’s every happened, and there are only a couple examples of that year 3. Which is possible if the stars align…but Shaq would be 33 by then.

I just meant career wise/in general, especially when it comes time to paying him actual money. For 1m/year or whatever it is, a young/hungry player trying to prove himself to get paid it isn’t the end of the world to be the 2. After that we can just plug in a vet for a little more with the same or better outcome given he doesn’t get a lot better and learn to catch all of a sudden (which is unlikely). Easily replaceable and nothing special. I’m fact with the oline being about top 10, I expected more. Still young but he’ll be fighting for that 3rd/extra spot on a roster.

And expecting him to be better than a vet who made the pro bowl just last year is borderline moronic and frankly is a casual fan take. People need to relax and realize this. I think Carr will be better than Young for a couple of years at the very least unless we’re about to shatter some crazy rookie qb/first year head coach records and defy history. I personally don’t think we anre that special one out of thousands of teams in history. Appears some here think we are that special. Gives me a Tepper/Rhule vibe. Siants for me are the easy pick. Falcons will be playing old school and I wouldn’t be surprised if they are going to be competing with the Panthers for the #2 spot and then perhaps even beyond especially with that healthy cap once they find a QB, even an average vet. Bucs have catching up to do. Saints for now. Falcons or Panthers are the future depending.

Bottom line is this - CMC gets doubted for his 1k/1k because defenses played soft playing vs. a shitty team (ala Panthers) yet Moore is an annual ‘1k yard’ receiver? Heh, to the outside world. Anyone who watches games knows that these yards come from when we are down multiple scores, period. Ergo we know that in the red zone, Moore is worthless. So, that’s not a #1. It just isn’t. He can’t score or get open because no one is playing him soft. Again he isn’t completely useless by any means but if any Bears fans think he will be a difference maker, they’re sorely mistaken. And if any Panther fan thinks differently they’re casual and/or haven’t been paying attention. I expect Moore to get around 800 yards and 5 TDs this season.

Doubtful. DJ ain’t bailing Fields out of bad situations, he’s not that receiver. And he damn sure isn’t going to fight for the ball or have YAC. Now if the opposing teams starts playing soft due to being up a couple scores, except big numbers from Moore with a couple/few clutch catches sprinkled in before disappearing, especially when you have to get open in tough situations, you know like in the end zone, where Moore can’t get open to save his life. Of course that’s if there isn’t an average+ corner on the opposing team who can shut DJ down. Shall I continue with his blocking and giving up on routes? Y’all seriously overrate this guy. Wow you guys really think it’s for all this stuff it isn’t? What this is about is pretty clear. A competent staff, FO and organization culture. Pretty clear. Winning franchise from a losing one. The panthers don’t have that yet and no need to pretend they do. CMC left a poo franchise for a good one. Until otherwise that’s how it is. The work is there for Tepper an co.
