i think we're still on the hook for a large portion of that even with a trade. Perhaps all of it. It depends on how the 5th year option is structured. I'm guessing its guaranteed.
-
Nope. I'm going to disagree with this. Jerry wanting his kids to be involved ran Bill Polian out of the organization after 96. He went on to build a very competent team with the Colts.
-
To be fair they have game 5 of the World Series in town tonight. Would you really go to the Falcons game instead of that?
-
If anything, Sam would be a decent backup.
-
We ran a R2P2 offense today if I've ever seen one.
-
Probably because context is a thing. Brady is the best to ever play QB. Sam has never proven anything.
-
Exactly. Darnold ain't it and even our coaching staff recognizes that now. We've had Teddy Bridgewater, Kyle Allen, Taylor Heineke, and Cam Newton on our roster under Rhule. Not that any of those guys were the long term answer, but I'm not sure Darnold is better than any of them. PJ being our only backup is pretty bad as well. Very concerning that we cannot seem to evaluate QBs.

Official my god how have we sunk so low Panthers at Falcons thread

Like how Clausen saved it? By assuring we get a top pick? -
How could you watch this game and conclude that a top tier RB is worth it? I'm watching a 10-10 game between two teams that desperately need better QB play.
-
Give some credit to Joe Burrow for turning his own career around. Hindsight is 50/50, but it looks like Burrow had a lot more to do with LSU's success than Brady. Dude is a legit QB at the NFL level, while none of our QBs have improved at all.
-
I'm guessing he's got 1 more shot at QB.

Rhule said we would focus on the run game and Brady called 17 run plays.

Rapoport believes Watson will be traded before the deadline

Only because away team fans help fill up the stadium. it doesn't matter from a tickets sold perspective, but the Chargers don't have much of a home advantage. -
When did you give up on Matt Rhule?

I thought we needed a new OC, QB and O-Line before today. I think we need a whole new staff after today. -

We were a bit outmatched but I'm proud of our guys. They stayed in the game despite it all. Glad we didn't get embarrassed. Hopefully they bounce back next week. -
Is this the best Panthers pass rush in franchise history?
PNW_PantherMan replied to Zod's topic in Carolina Panthers
Yes, just because we never had a DC that would send pressure other than the front 4. Not only that, but the stunts and things being called are genius. The 2003 team had to get pressure with a vanilla defense. Speaks volumes to their talent really. -
Panthers about to trade for CJ Henderson?!?!
PNW_PantherMan replied to joemac's topic in Carolina Panthers
At this point I'd write it off as a toxic environment. He's following the path of basically every other high value defensive pick in the organizations recent history. Almost all of them were traded away and were/are stars for their new teams. We just didn't have to give up a 1st to get this guy, which is fantastic. -

Man I just love our front office right now. That's seriously a big cajones move. -
My expectations were probably too high for Joe Brady, so he's definitely been a bit of a disappointment to me. Overall though, I can't say he's been bad. His overall offensive design plays to the strengths of our players, and I think it's helping Sam Darnold get his career on the right track. Brady's red zone play calling has visibly improved, and I think he'll continue to get better. My only real gripes with him would be predictability on 1st and 10, and 4th and 1 or less. This is not based on data but just anecdotal. We always seem to run some auto pilot run up the gut play call on 1st down. I don't hate that, but its a bit predictable when it's done too much. I also do not like how we are insisting on being a power run team on 4th and short, even though that's the most common play call in the world. We simply do not have the run blocking personnel with this line, or a true power back that's good at that.

They must have showed Chuba the posts in this thread. Dude is getting going after we poo on him lol
-
Chuba Hubbard should not be in the game. I'm not ready to write him off as a bust yet, but he is not ready for the NFL.

How did they get to 4th down? Did the refs forget to throw another flag?
