  1. Don't want to get into the weeds on this, however, Sometimes waiting for people to have a change of heart and do the right thing takes generations. Most people don't have generations to wait. That's where legislation comes in handy.
  2. Too bad the NFL doesn't allow the Green Bay Packer's model of ownership (publicly held nonprofit). Under those circumstances Byron Allen could maintain control while selling stock in the Denver Broncos franchise. I'd definitely buy a share or two just for the novelty.
  3. When it comes to roster building this should be Matt Rhule's only role/roll.
  4. Just about every other GM in the NFL to their QBs: We have a standing offer from Carolina if you're unhappy with your current situation. QB: Crickets GM: Just as I suspected

  6. For a young guy with plenty of spending cash, Las Vegas is like being a kid in a candy shop. Lots of sweets to choose from, but you've gotta steer clear of the jaw breakers and all night suckers.
  7. If Rhule doesn't pull a rabbit out of his ass this coming season (and is still retained in 2023) Tepper won't be able to show his face in Charlotte for all the verbal abuse he has coming his way (and deservedly so).
  8. What the hell has the NFL been thinking all these years? Picking winners and losers based on wins and losses? Nah, we need to determine who the best teams are based on Rhule's invisible intangibles that only people like Actionman can see. TL/DR: Fans can't see it, but Rhule knows 10X better than you or I. Stop bitchin' and trust the process.
  9. Thanks mister Actionman0z! You've somehow cracked the secret code of professional football and explained it in a way all us dummies can understand. Don't know what we'd do without you!
  10. Could have finally hit on something Rhule might be good at... winning a BBQ eating contest.
  11. I have no doubt that any one of the Panthers previous Head Coaches could walk in on day one of next season and get more out of our roster than Rhule (even if he were given an entire off season to prepare). And yeah, every one of those previous coaches were ultimately fired for their lack of success. Which begs the question, why is Rhule still the Panthers Head Coach considering he is the worst coach in Panthers history (based on his record)?
  12. Chances are Rhule didn't agree to coach the Panthers without an agreement/contract that stipulates he has final say. Tepper wouldn't be able to just snap his fingers and force Rhule to give up his power over personnel decisions.
  13. That's why teams have to do their due diligence and not allow themselves to get caught up in "top coaching candidate" hype that is often next to meaningless.
  14. Did it turn out the way many of us hoped? No, but Cam's return was a momentary reminder to Panthers fans of a culture and leadership ability totally absent w/the current regime.
  15. Rhule is the personification of gum stuck on a shoe...
  16. Anybody remember when Marty Hurney returned as the "interim" GM? Rivera along with a couple of other employees conducted interviews with several well qualified candidates even though nobody seriously believed Hurney wasn't a shoe in for the job.
  17. Can't wait for the Washington Commodes vs. the Cleveland Browns
  18. What is the likelihood that if Flores is hired it brings Watson back into the fold?
  19. I believe all your points may have played a factor in Rhule's "awakening". McAdoo's personal contacts/established relationships within the league likely didn't hurt either.
  20. I'm skeptical that Rhule has wised up in a matter of weeks. Perhaps now having a former NFL HC/OC with years of experience on staff to mentor him has helped? I'm certainly not joining the Panthers as their new OC unless I've got final say on the people hired to assist me.
  21. CMC is better on the field in some capacity than off the field in none. Reduce his wear and tear by using him less as a RB (as others have already suggested) and more as a receiver. He might just make it till the end of his current contract contributing to the team's good fortunes rather than in a cast, sitting on his couch, watching the Panthers struggle without him.
  22. Howard Hesseman, the actor and improvisational comedian best known for playing a stuck-in-the-’60s radio disc jockey in the TV sitcom “WKRP in Cincinnati,” died on Saturday in Los Angeles. He was 81. His wife, Caroline Ducrocq, said he died at the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center of complications from colon surgery last summer. Mr. Hesseman received two Emmy nominations for playing Dr. Johnny Fever on “WKRP in Cincinnati,” which ran on CBS for four seasons from 1978 to 1982. https://www.nytimes.com/2022/01/30/arts/television/howard-hesseman-dead.html
