  1. without having any inside info I am sure this about how Cam handled losses his rookie year. I'm still waiting on Charles Johnson to spill the tea on Matt Rhule like he promised
  2. I have always and will always love Cam the football player. That being said Cam has never been the most PC person behind the microphone. I truly don't think he means any harm behind it he's just one of these guys that kind talks. We all know people like that in our life.
  3. Here's how I view it. Cam made a comment that was insensitive (this is pretty norm for him) but I don't think he meant it like "Oh all the Panthers are trash" he was just saying that by virtue of being the number one pick you are going to a stastically bad team Steve took it personally because well....it's steve for god's sakes Cam should just apologize and Steve and him can make up
  4. Please do not link to Matt Miller's stuff on this website. He is a gigantic panthers hater and to top it off he's an idiot
  5. One thing I thought about is that when we drafted 95 a lot of the rhetoric was: never draft a DT top 10 unless they can rush the passer. Things have changed since then and interior pressure is so valuable now. However do we think Graham is the level of prospect Jalen Carter was, because if so he's a no brainer for me.
  6. I think Graham is athletic enough to play multiple positions on the line, I'd rather have a true nose though and have graham anchor the other DE spot across 95
  7. Gut feeling he is the pick in the first, I just wonder if it's going to be at 8
  8. not a bad draft at all, really hoping we get a big ole DT at some point but otherwise this is pretty good
  9. It really just depends on the WR and the compensation. If we're talking a third rounder or later I'm much more likely to pull the trigger. If it's pick 8 overall it has to be a certified WR1 not a WR 1B or a WR 2. Teams just don't make those available, esp after the titans fuged up the AJ brown trade.
  10. Tyler Biadez can 3 years 30 mill last year, Brady probably gets around that I would suspect
  11. every team in the league could use him and some teams will start him along the line. He's going to get paid. He's a very solid player.
  12. Hunt probably starts for them. Thielen would be their WR#3. But your point is valid
  13. The problem is this team is so far way from competing that I don't think it really matters for next year if Bryce is the QB, if there was a viable upgrade option I'd be all for considering it but due to the capital we invested in bryce and his improved play there is no reason NOT to keep going with him and use our cap/draft capital to improve the team
  14. very insightful I totally agree, praying we aren't one of those teams and have learned our lessons
  15. we could not have had cooper dejean and still traded down with the rams but there's a lot more wrong w/ this post
  16. Not worried, I'm not a huge fan of this draft. If there were some elite level talents at the top I'd be more bummed but this draft overall looks pretty meh
  17. honestly not really. He had a bad day but the entire team did tbh. O line had by far their worst game of the season. I said in the last Bryce thread: it still remains TBD if he is a franchise guy, a good but not great starter or not the longterm answer. Can't make that call after one week
  18. get better soon Mr Scot. I'd offer to come watch with you but I'm working today.
  19. I think the problem with this draft is outside of Travis Hunter at CB, I don't know if there are any "elite"/Blue chip level talents. Like Marvin Harrison Jr, Malik Nabers etc. I think their are some "very good"/red chip players. I think Mason Graham falls into this. Will Johnson probably does as well. Not sure yet if Abdul Carter does or TMAC. So even if we end up with a top 4 pick. I'm not sure we are getting a blue chip talent. I still maintain you can make an argument for drafting almost every single position in this draft at some point so just get the best player available in round 1 or do a small trade down
  20. totally agree with every point, particularly the last one
  21. As a UNC fan but first and foremost a Panthers fan I am conflicted but very excited about the Belicheck hiring but more than anything just flat out shocked he chose UNC of all places.
  22. I just think it's remarkable how Dave Canales turned Bryce around. I don't know if it was intentional, but clearly benching him and letting him cool off was an excellent move. I think Dave being coy with who will be starting has also been intentional. My personal theory is this is two fold: 1- it takes the pressure of Bryce to feel like he has to be the savior and 2- it doesn't just hand bryce the keys without letting him know that just because you're the first overall pick doesn't mean you are guaranteed to be a starter When Canales was hired we all hoped he would get the most out of Bryce, he has done that in a very circuitous manner
  23. Society as a whole has lost the ability to have nuance. I am a victim of this as well. Multiple things can be true about Bryce 1- the first two games of this year were an unmitigated disaster and he clearly was mentally in a very bad place 2- it is in the best interest of this organization for Bryce to be good, given the investment we have made in him 3- post benching Bryce is the best he has ever looked in the league 4- the jury is still out if he can truly be a franchise level QB, a good but not great starter, or not a viable longterm answer 5- his play post benching combined with the lack of top flight QB talent in this draft, warrants us continuing to evaluate him into next season I have said all along, I wanted to us to draft CJ, but the minute we drafted Bryce I have wanted Bryce to succeed here. I'm a Panthers fan first and foremost not a fan of my own predictions
