Carolina may not "be sold" on young (per athletic)
SOJA replied to Champagnepapi704's topic in Carolina Panthers
this is getting around on the internet as a legit rumour when really it's just speculation on person's part. Not saying it won't happen but there is nothing substantial to back this up -
Let me be absolutely clear Daniel Jones is not a franchise QB and I will be furious if we sign him with that intent. That being said, some team somewhere in the league will convince themselves they can rehabilitate him given the recent success of Geno, Baker and Darnold. I just pray we leave that to someone else.

this is the best idea I've heard regarding Evero like ever

What franchises are in worse shape than the Panthers
SOJA replied to TheBigKat's topic in Carolina Panthers
Trying to be as objective as possible, it' still us. Yes the Browns have the deshaun contract but they have a talented roster otherwise. Yes the Jets have been historically not great but they too have a lot of talent. The Jaguars are perpertually finding themselves at the bottom and depending on how you feel about Lawrence they are maybe the only team you could say is just as hopeless as us but they have some young talented players as well so I would put them over us too. Until we string together multiple solid drafts we will remain the least hopeful team just due to our lack of talent on the roster, forget the QB position -
this is my best one yet no trades
-
My understanding is they did try to sign Luvu but he went to Washington for a similar deal or less money to play for Quinn. Can't blame him for that Chinn needed a restart. He's a talented player that I'm not sure we ever figured out how to use correctly. I still think about last year at TC where it was clear he didn't really have a position on the team

Feel very good we are going to get some good defensive lineman in the first four rounds
-
here you go
-
YES we NEED a true NT. We have been missing that since Star left
-
We have, on paper, probably the least talented defense in the NFL. Outside of Jaycee and Clowney I'm not sure anyone on our defense starts on 75% of other NFL defenses. Evero isn't perfect but he is not the problem. Personnel is.
-
TBH a front of Ashawn playing like he did yesterday, Clowney, Brown and Wonnum is not a bad base. Add in a top flight rookie, a later round pick at edge and hopefully a true NT and we may be decent

I don't really see the downside of playing Bryce. (and yes I have heard the draft compensation argument and tbh I don't think he has much trade value anyway) Just play him and see what we've got My theory on why Canales won't announce him at the starter is two fold: a.) he doesn't want Bryce to feel the pressure of having to be the franchise savior b.) he's showing the team no one is above evaluation

The guy from Penn St, James Pierce and this guy would all be good picks IMO. Anyone that can rush the passer is my pick for round 1

after the last few years we desperately need to get rid of the stink of this organization. Winning helps that. Also if there was any draft where it probably doesn't matter having the top overall maybe even top 5 overall pick it's this one. This draft is not great at top end talent. It's a lot of normal first and second round grade guys IMO

It's because we have become so reactionary. Every week a new team is the worst team in the league or someone else is falling apart and next week they are superbowl contenders. They don't wait for rookies to develop because they want the immediate Russel Wilson seahawks success and starting the timeline of a championship team as early as possible due to the value of rookie QB contracts

The internet at large has lost the ability to have any nuance. It's ok to evaluate Bryce and come away with the conclusion that while he looks much better than weeks 1 to 2, he still hasn't proven he's a franchise QB. Both can be true statements. My thing is at this point, just play him, we either find out we have something or we don't. It's not like were missing out on a top flight QB this draft anyway. Now come 2026 it will be decision time on if he's the future or not
-
You can question a lot of things about Bryce but from literally everything I've ever heard or read the guy works very hard behind the scenes. I mean his preparation for games at Alabama was so impressive that apparently Fitterer and co had to cut him off when he got to like Wednesday or something. He does seem like a genuinely nice person so it's easy to root for him because god can you imagine how reviled he would be if he was Jimmy Clausen

I really like Chuba, this is a fair deal for both sides and I think it's important as an organization to send a message that we retain our home grown talented players who do the right things. FURTHER and what I haven't seen yet is: A few years ago we decided not to trade Burns and instead of signing him RIGHT THEN we waited and ultimately took a big loss on the compensation. We clearly learned from that. If you aren't going to trade someone then re-sign them. That is good business in my mind.

I'm actually excited to see what Dan can do with all our picks in this upcoming draft. Hoping that while the top flight talent doesn't look great it is a deep draft where we can find quality starters and backups
-
I'm starting to like what I'm seeing from the penn state DE, also speaks to my point of trading down to acquire a future first if someone is dumb enough
-
agreed defense has to be focus of the upcoming draft
-
well thank god XL was technically a first round pick!

Who says you can't have a good jump scare after halloween ends? But in all seriousness I can't believe we got a fourth for him

C Mays / LT Christensen LT vs C Christensen / LT Ekwonu
SOJA replied to Mr. Scot's topic in Carolina Panthers
Ickey at LT and Brady as Center / Swing position player is more valuable to our team IMO
