Now I want a video of him missing sacks with the Sonic spring sound effect.
-
Guys really missed his calling as a public BSer.

My ideal trade back would be getting another 1st round pick or a 1st and early 2nd and get an LT and QB.
-
That is why I don’t like restructuring. Literally just kicking the can down the road. I would understand some restructuring if the Panthers were already a playoff team but we aren’t.
-
I am also thinking how this new rule could make games more exciting. Think about last year Chiefs go down and score and then the Bills go down and score and instead of kicking a field goal they opt for 2 or the Chiefs do the same forcing the Bills to go for 2 on their possession. I see nothing but positives from this rule change.

Most teams lose because they don't know why they lost.

I remember Rhule saying last season he didn’t understand why we were doing worse in 2021 then in 2020. -
While I know it is a pipe dream. I want to make the playoffs. Darnold won’t help us get there. So anyone but him.
-
To Tannehills defense he never looked as bad as Darnold did. So him improving a lot when he was traded to the Titans wasn’t that big of a surprise. He was just constantly injured in Miami.
-
A defensive coach no less.

I agree that a QBs number one job is running the offense and not having to win the game every time. But, man, I would like a QB that COULD win it for us if he had too. So far Darnold and Bridgewater have been those guys.

Rhule: Sam Darnold will take a huge step this year
TLGPanthersFan replied to Zod's topic in Carolina Panthers
Once the ball is hiked he becomes very scared. He also has a bad habit of trying to play hero ball. Also he has one of the worst deep balls I have ever seen. All the stuff you mentioned improving are great and all but once the ball is in his hands his scared mind takes over. We saw it last year on some of the worst INTs and boneheaded plays I have seen in my 20+ years as a Panthers fan. Maybe the O-line will help him. But I think his goose is cooked and I don’t think he can improve physically. He is done. But the coaching staff has docked with this sinking ship and are gonna go down with it. -

100 percent agree. He should not be the guaranteed starter when training camp begins. -
Fitterer on the possibility of a trade back
TLGPanthersFan replied to Zod's topic in Carolina Panthers
I am getting so many mixed messages. We are getting a QB at 6. We are not getting a QB at 6 and trade back. We are getting the best LT or DE at 6. If we don’t get either a good LT or DE we are trading back. Likely if we trade back we won’t be getting any of the QBs they want. Likely the Falcons and Seahawks and maybe even the Lions will all select a QB. Trading back is fine as long as we can get some value out of gag pick. Even though I have never been a fan of trading back. -
The Panthers have first round grades on 3 QBs.
TLGPanthersFan replied to Zod's topic in Carolina Panthers
They expect one of these guys to still be available if they trade back? After us is a bunch of QB needy teams. If we trade out of top 10 or even 15 there is a chance all 3 QBs will be gone by round 15. -
I just don't know if I can sanction Darnolds buffoonery for another season. Even if it gets us a franchise QB. I think even with our o-line we could of gotten 7 or 8 wins if Darnold was half-way decent. He just got worse and worse as the season went on. Still can't believe Rhule put him in for the last 2 games like he gave us a better chance to win. Not that I wanted us to win at that point.
-
Main reason why I am fine with someone, anyone, starting next year at QB. As long as it isn't Darnold. Heck I'd take PJ for the entire year. He'd throw a billion interceptions but at least we would have Bryce Young to look forward to.
-
I can't believe there are still people who believe that Sam Darnold isn't a bad QB. That all he needs is a healthy O-line and he will become a good QB. I just don't understand it.
-
Playing 4 years behind bad lines pretty much make him unfixable. He has been David Carred.
-
I have no problem taking Jimmy G for a year and only a year.
-
I honestly think they thought getting Sam away from the Jets would cure him and that he would play better last year. When he not only played badly but worse statistically compared to his last 3 years they knew they fugged up. Sam had all the problem he showed last year in college. I am not impatient. I am frustrated because I knew what happened last year with Darnold was going to happen. It was predictable. But our coaching staff thinks that they are QB whisperers. So we ended up with a really expensive backup called Sam Darnold that we may have to endure watching play for another season. I take solace in if he does start Rhule is hopefully gone. Unless Darnold somehow is fixed. But if the past NFL is any indicator once a QB is broken he can’t be fixed. Darnold gonna be seeing ghosts for the rest of his life.
-
The problem is that word “development”. If Darnold was a rookie I would be more forgiving. I think the front office realizes they made a mistake and that Darnold, no matter how they want to, can not be treated like a rookie. You mention fans being impatient. But I, personally, am not impatient and I think most Panthers fan aren’t either. They knew when the Panthers brought on one of the statistically worst QBs in recent years they could only hoped for the best. The Darnold failed and it was anger, not being impatient, that many Panthers fans were feeling. Darnold is a bad QB. The evidence is damning. He was one of the statistically worst QBs when not under pressure and he deep ball was god awful. Thinking he will turn a corner with a good line is wishful thinking.
-
I wish Howells pro day wasn’t closer to the others. Really want him to do well. Hope the Panthers are there in force but I have a feeling that they won’t be. Unless being close by makes a difference. Seems like everyone has forgotten him.
-
I never liked them calling him a rookie. There was 3 horrible years of tape. If he was a rookie and that was his college tape he would have been drafted in the 6th or 7th round. Darnold is who he is and no matter how good his O-line is or his weapons are he will always hold back any team he is on. He is a now a 5 year vet. He is a bust.

I think it was what was agreed upon with the trade. Probably was the only way the Broncos would have accepted the trade.
