  1. You can't project us based on opponents standing still. Let's say the Saints sign Carr and the Falcons trade for Jackson. Suddenly that "wide open division" is incredibly tough and Playoffs looks miles away.
  2. Why would our future picks be Playoff picks? We're more than just a QB away from being a consistently good team.
  3. I don't like the look of Levis, but if he's the guy at #9, fine, just give him a short leash and go again next year if he sucks.
  4. I'm not talking about an 18 year old vs a 21 year old, I'm talking about as QBs in general.
  5. Why do you think Stroud is a generational QB?
  6. Ohio State coaches literally preferred Fields to Stroud - he went 11th in his Draft and has been so-so in the NFL. Young is 5'10" and plays at 180lbs. He's going to inspire Jim Ross gifs. Richardson is a project. Who are you trading 3 first round picks away for here?! Don't get me wrong, I'm fine walking away with any of those 3 with the #9 pick (or a slightly higher pick if it just costs one of our 2nd round picks this year), but damn nobody here is worth the gamble that a lot of you are willing to make.
  7. You're as likely to fix Stroud's ability to handle pressure as you are to fix Richardson's footwork. Hence why you stay at 9 and see what happens.
  8. Its almost like they're all flawed prospects, huh?
  9. McCown is the QB Coach, he's not the GM. He'll have an input, but it'll be a minor one - he'll coach who he's told to coach.
  10. I can see Young dropping in the Draft - he's just too small for teams to bet their future on.
  11. Depends, has Player A ever won a big game and does he wilt under pressure? Oh.
  12. Richardson has the best arm in this class and I don't think it's really even close.
  13. Which is why the whole Combine process for him was silly. He should have just gone there and done every drill. "Here's what I am, pigeon-hole me how you want". He's not tricking the system by turning up 20lbs above his playing weight for a week.
  14. So the QB that Ohio St don't think is as good as Fields costs us two first round picks and a second round pick? Panthers gonna Panther I guess.
  15. Blow up what? All the best players are on rookie deals or manageable second contracts. We're primed for a period of dominance - which either comes from a franchise QB (good luck) or continuing to stack the roster with talent... i.e. those 3 first round picks people are so keen to trade away.
  16. Even if we draft a QB we still need a mid-level starter who can tide us over for a season.
  17. If they give up 3 first round picks then the honeymoon period is over and I expect the team to win immediately.
  18. I'm using him as an example as to why you don't need to trade multiple first round picks for a non-generational QB. This is a good QB class, it's not an exceptional one. Sit at #9 and see who falls - if nobody does, look outside the box in the later rounds.
  19. Herbert - 6 Hurts - 53 Allen - 7 Jackson - 32 Mahomes - 10 Watson - 12
  20. I'm not pencilling him in as anything, but he was literally Mr Irrelevant and came off the bench to win 6 straight games (and they looked lost when he got injured).
