Again, i wasnt commenting on him specifically. I was responding to the comment that everything besides size and speed can be coached to qbs. I think his processing is fine. Not at Young's level but it is fine.

I agree to an extent. I definitely think smaller qbs have some disadvantages, such as seeing over the line and stuff like that. Im not saying smaller qbs are better, im saying statistically the injury thing may be overblown by fans who are set on Stroud anyways.

Exactly. Plenty of big players have had concussion issues. We have had several unfortunately with Kuechly, Morgan, and Oher. So to say Tua has concussion issues entirely because he doesnt weigh enough could be entirely inaccurate.

How do you know Tua got them entirely because of his weight and not just bad luck/genetic predisposition?

I think its just injuries overall at the qb position.

Two of the best big prospects coming out were Cam and Luck. Both of them were plagued by injuries. It seems like common sense that a smaller qb would get hurt more but thats not what the stats say.

It does further down the article. It actually shows bigger qbs are injured more often. Which is probably a fluke but does help say weight doesnt have much to do with qb injuries.

I think its weird people who are set on stroud say you can coach stroud to do what young does but you cant coach young to be bigger. The second part is definitely true, but the first part definitely isnt nesscesarily. You cant nesscesarily coach lightning quick processing and playmaking when a play breaks down. A lot of that is natural talent in the same way height is.

I prefer him at edge in the 20% or so we are in 34 but i believe someone on the staff said in an interview last week that Luvu will play a mixture of edge and inside linebacker when we are in 34. Maybe i just dreamed it though but I'm pretty sure. In the same answer they mentioned Chinn and his versatility to play all over the field in different formations.

Bpa and im totally fine if thats WR. With Chark being on a 1 year deal and always a chance at injury, and Thielen being up there in age, we could definitely use some long term building blocks at wr. TMJ and Shi could be those things but who knows.

Exactly. The average NFL rb is 213 lbs and they take way more hits than whichever qb we take. I hope. Lol

Thats silly though. Most injuries are flukes or bad luck. Find me statistics that say bigger qbs have had less injuries than smaller ones. Brees had a relatively healthy career. So has kyler for the most part. What about some big qbs like Cam or Luck? There very well may be statistics aggreeing with this sentiment that smaller equals injured more but I haven't found it.

It seems like such a weird thing as a panthers fan to say bpa thats not a qb or lt. Its a pretty nice feeling.

Imagine that, the people here who are set on Stroud thought Young looked bad. They were going to no matter what. Im good with either and today cemented thar for me. None of us have saw nearly as much of them as our coaches and scouts have. I feel comfortable with whoever they pick. I slightly lean Stroud but if Young was a couple inches taller he would be the clear #1 so it makes me wonder if we are overrating or underrating size. How many injuries are specifically related to size and how many are flukes due to landing wrong etc

You cant always find everything you want in one offseason. He brings a reliable target who is a proven experienced player to an inexperienced position group.

Other than saying theyre both tall, i dont think tmj and chark have much else at all in common.

Yea lots of needs overall but i think they have more of a 2 year plan to try to fill everything. I think this draft they will get a couple defensive players but probably try to add as much to the offense as they can so the rookie qb has weapons and isnt hung out to dry.

I think it just depends on how the draft goes. They are trying to set themselves up where they have more options to take BPA. Qb at 1 and a WR are the only HAVE TOs now in the draft I'd say even though there are definitely posistions im sure they want to draft. They will just wait and see how the board falls.

We loved you while you were hear DJ even though you showed a lack of effort and lazy routes sometimes, you were the best receiver we've had in a long time. Unfortunately for him, a franchise qb is a lot harder to find then a good number 1/ great #2 wr.

New system needs rbs that are dual threat.
