  1. I really can't believe the people who are judging the new coach and wanting to bring in a guy still on the streets after literally 1 preseason game.
  2. I guess XL's camp report falls in to the rare 10%.
  3. Toe-to-toe.... with ISM on the depth chart for wr #5
  4. Yea I feel like if you're still raw after 5 years of college ball, then maybe that's just who you are.
  5. He clearly wants to win, he clearly will spend money. Literally he just needs to learn from his experience and step back. Those are the 2 things he needs to work on. Most of the rest of the blind hatred is unsubstantiated claims to convince ourselves he's bad. Has he been bad so far? Yep. Could he always be bad? Definitely. But 2 of the main positives I can think about in an owner are strong desire to win and willing to open the checkbook, so that's a start.
  6. Only scary thing is how much is Clowney and how much is our garbage pass protection. We will find out soon I guess.
  7. You think it doesn't have an impact?
  8. I really don't know that Bryce will be the guy but you taking a snapshot of where is open right before he catches it instead of where he was open when Bryce was actually releasing it tells that you're just looking to hate. He wasn't that open when Bryce was releasing it. Bryce made sure to throw it where only his guy could catch it and he did. I'm definitely not sold on Bryce but I'm not bias enough to spin everything to fit my perspective.
  9. Ok I thought I remembered seeing something like that but didn't know if any of the media or anything mentioned him at all. Hopefully it means nothing but with him playing 5 years and college and going against our awful secondary, him disappear onto most of the time isn't the best sign.
  10. Can anyone say how he looked in the team stuff last night?
  11. Incomplete ras scores. Where they don't run any of the agility drills. Receivers don't need agility.
  12. I get what they're trying to say as far as he's good at the things you can teach and not good at the things you can't, but that doesn't mean he can't improve a lot. The game clearly seemed too fast for him last year. If it slowed down, what happens if he becomes great at the things you can't teach instead of good? Realistically I don't think he can be a top 10 qb ever either, but there are definite improvements that can be made where his ceiling is a lot higher than some people think. I'm not saying he will ever reach that ceiling necessarily though.
  13. First off I hope he ends up great. Second off I agree that he doesn't fit Bryce. Like you said he is a pretty specialized receiver with a very specific role. Everyone wants him to be a dk Metcalf which is his ceiling, but my question is what overall consistently good offense has a #1 receiver who plays this role. It's a dated role. Most of all our moves always feel dated unfortunately.
  14. He didn't do agility drills. For a reason. The ras is incomplete.
  15. In 4 seasons combined he had 42 catches for 423 yards and 5 tds. That's 4 seasons added together. I think it's nicer to say he wasn't on the field. A lot of players go undrafted putting those numbers up in one season.
  16. He doesn't though. He has good straight line speed for his weight. He has good body weight and muscle mass. He's 6' that's not especially big, and then when you factor in his short arms and small hands it's not much more than a short wr reach wise. He also doesn't have much fluidity/change of direction/or short area quickness. Everyone just thinks he's an elite athlete because of his 40 and his weight and because SC had him listed at 6'3 or something which ended up being way off.
  17. The more things change, the more they stay the same. Panthers are always still trying to draft and build teams like it's the late 90s/early 2000s
  18. He's not a league insider. He's a random Pittsburgh freelance guy who saw a couple tweets and wrote an article about it.
  19. It's not even that they're long shots. They're almost always older "raw" prospects. I don't even normally see them as potential high ceiling guys. People comparing him to Metcalf like it's a given but he's shorter, has much shorter arms, and small hands. It's like we draft old "raw" guys but still draft for high floor instead of ceiling.
  20. It means nothing in the big picture. The thing that makes this worrisome is the problems he's shown so far are the exact problems I was worried about before we drafted him. Being stiff and fast in any way besides long and straight. Separation. It would just have been a lot less worrisome if those weren't the exact possible issues that came up in training camp so far. It's no different than people who were worried about Bryce's deep ball last camp.
  21. Maybe, I don't even understand what he was trying to do in the 2nd video though. No separation and then he slightly cut inside and just stopped at the oob? I believe it was probably supposed to be a fade to the corner and for some reason he just didn't do that.
