  1. I agree with the last part. Just because as a franchise we sucked at drafing wrs in round 2 doesnt mean the new front office shouldnt draft one in round 2. The main thing that scares me is their continued infatuation with big possession receivers. Mingo and apparently Legette/Coleman. Those are what never pan out that often from college to the pros.
  2. It did, everywhere but in Deion's self absorbed delusions.
  3. I really wonder about where Jermaine Burton is ranked on most teams boards. Havent heard much about him during the process because of his character concerns.
  4. Sure, I dont know any more than anyone else. Ive been wrong lots of time. I just prefer my receivers with burst and short area quickness/change of direction. He can get better at route running most likely but with those other things, he is who he is. Just not my cup of tea so to speak.
  5. Im not, I'm comparing them off of their poor route running and lack of seperation and lateral quickness. Its just a coincidence their measurables are really similar.
  6. Im fine with taking him in the third. This was mostly all in response to the people wanting him at 33 or saying he may not make it out of the first. Mitchell or Chop Robinson are my #1 hopes for pick 33.
  7. It just seems to me thats what we always try to prioritize instead of just receivers who run good routes and get open, and it's basically never worked.
  8. Making contested catches in college is different than doing it in the NFL. Most of the best contested catch makers in the NFL didnt really even have to do it much in college because they got open.
  9. Im not saying Mingo is a bust for sure already. I'm saying what you saw on tape with Mingo in college is still a problem in the NFL. Not saying he cant get better but even if Mingo comes good that just makes Legette's skillset redundant.
  10. It used to be Pantherspride84 or something 13 years ago or so but i totally forgot all that account info a long long time ago and ive mostly always lurked anyways so just made a new one a few years back. Im not claiming to have any sort of inside information or anything. I just listen to a lot of draft podcasts and such and ive never heard anyone ever mention him possibly going in the first. So I'm just basing it on that and my own opinion from what I've seen.
  11. I have heard 0 talk of him going in the first. Ive heard more talk of him potentially falling to the third than going in the first.
  12. How? Legette is a few months older. They had the exact same 10 yard split. Same weight, Mingo is 1" taller. Mingo has longer arms and much bigger hands. (Legette has really small hands for a receiver). They had the same vertical, Mingo had a better broad jump. Legette runs faster in an untouched straight line. Both struggled to get seperation in college and had one good year. Both were known for contested catches because they didnt get open or run very good routes. Neither did any of the agility drills because neither has very good change of direction or quickness.
  13. Hes fast in a straight line running 40 yards untouched. Hes not quick, nor good at change of direction. He has short arms and small hands for his size and wasnt a good route runner and routinely relied on making contested catches because he didnt get seperation in college. This would be such a panthers wr pick.
  14. I didnt really like the idea of this move anyways. A bit older receiver who is often hurt on a 1 year rental, when wide receiver is the deepest position in the draft.
  15. It was 2 years ago when burns had multiple years left on his rookie contract so it was a different value at that time. I remember teams inquired last year but I dont think we ever heard what any of the offers were, just that he wasnt available. Fitterer really was the worst gm we've ever had by far.
  16. That wasn't this offseason though so shouldn't really factor in. Unless you have a time machine there's not much you can do about that. Especially since its a new regime. They shouldnt be responsible for the last ones incompetence.
  17. Nah. If he sucks the same this year then we have the first pick next year to spend on a qb. If he is mediocre this year we dont have the first overall pick and we still have no idea what we are doing at qb. Crying over the past is getting a little old now. After the 2nd next year all of that will be in the past. It does no good to focus on that anymore.
  18. Having a mediocre qb sets your franchise further back than having a bad one.
  19. Two of my absolute least favorite receivers. That would be awful.
  20. Yea a few days ago I thought there was no way AD would make it to us, that he definitely wouldnt make it past the chiefs, but now that they signed Brown, it feels like a slightly more realistic possibility. AD reminds me of Ceedee Lamb without the elite yac Lamb has.
  21. I would be great with him in the 4th or later. His quickness and change of direction are elite.
  22. Hes nowhere near as fast unless you're just running untouched in a straight line for 40 yards. AD would be my #1 choice and then Ladd, of the ones mentioned.
  23. Drafting is at least a gamble that there is a chance to win. It will always be a risk but trading for qbs who have had multiple seasons to show who they are in the nfl will pretty much never be a win.
  24. It makes 0 sense in our current situation. He has another season on his cheap rookie contract and then we would have to pay him. You dont want to overpay a mediocre qb. I see literally no benefit. Bryce is our qb this season win, lose, or draw. If we lose then we draft his replacement next season. There are no quick fixes or half ass bandages.
