  1. The TD to Robbie Anderson play, watching this, it looks like there were 3 touchdown options on that play. Almost seems like Marshall (I think that's who that was in the end zone at the top of the screen, can't make out all the numbers) would have been an easy touchdown. Also, Arnold could possibly have been a touchdown option if that was an out breaking route in the end zone. Good play design.
  2. This will change as the year goes on either due to injury or things clicking for the rookies.
  3. We likely won't get a comp for Samuel. He will be offset by Riddick most likely. If not Reddick potentially Arnold, Jones, or Fox.
  4. Trying not to let this place drag me down, but man it's hard not to be an asshole on this site. Idk why though. It's friggin contagious.
  5. I guess those joint practices are like those new-fangled iphones all the kids are running around with lately. We'll see if they catch on or maybe they are just another fad.
  6. "In a growing trend, 20 clubs have scheduled joint practices with other teams." https://nflcommunications.com/Pages/2019-NFL-Training-Camps-Set-to-Open-.aspx That's from 2019. Joint practices aren't a new thing. Here's an article about joint practice fights, with examples going back to...2014. https://ftw.usatoday.com/2018/08/nfl-joint-practice-fights-texans-49ers-jets-redskins-videos Sure, they are getting to be more popular, but they have been used and fairly wide spread for a long ass time now. [Deleted some unnecessary mean poo here.]
  7. Maybe. One thing to say about this whole idea of hiding Sam; it doesn't appear to exist outside this forum. Sure, plenty question if he should be playing more in the preseason, but I can't find anything anywhere that hints he's being hidden for mysterious unsaid reasons or being overly protected. To me, that bolded part is important. Seriously, do we know he's being shielded from scrutiny? We know that is why Sam isn't playing? If so, how do we know this? Maybe he is, but is that coming from anywhere but people's heads? Nothing from the outside suggests this. Could be, but could be a lot of things like injury concerns for one, or more time to evaluate bottom of the roster for another. Why are we jumping to the most psychologically detached reason? It's most likely moronic fans just going down a rabbit hole of conspiracy, likely out of boredom or to bitch because they are filled with blind hate or some shits.
  8. For you to be disappointed with 5-11, you would have to have expected better than 5-11. There's your problem. Personally, I saw 3 wins, maybe 2. The roster was completely tore down, rightfully so. How your expectations were so high is beyond me. By all accounts, this team over performed last year...
  9. The Panthers? No they aren't.... When you are 1 or 2 players away, you sign big name guys for a playoff run. We haven't been doing that last off-season, nor the current one. As far as right direction, that means more wins than the previous season, right? It's been 1 season, sooo.....
  10. Eh, this place is more of a glass half empty kinda place. Don't hang out too much or it starts rubbing off on you.
  11. I'd agree, maybe going to Marshall? Or maybe the oline ran the wrong play, because Grier had 0 seconds to get that ball out.
  12. Considering how religious he is toward his diet and taking care of his body, I'd be shocked if he dipped.
  13. Not good enough. Looking at both weeks so far, our red zone issues do not seem resolved. I'm starting to question if it's Joe Brady. Slye has to go asap.
  14. 1. We have an aging long snapper that could be replaced for cheap. 2. Fletcher could be a "special" long snapper. (As special as a LS can be) 3. We had a plethora of low round picks to throw around. 4. He can be protected on the practice squad and not have to play this year. Imagine if we could have protected Butker. Bad comparison because the importance of the positions, but eh.
  15. I think IDL is a little low. Edge is very low; I feel we have elite starters and solid depth. The secondary is hard to say. Starters might be good, might not and depth looks good in camp and preseason...but that's camp and preseason. Looks like Overall isn't an average of all these position groups, so that's way too low. I think that should be around 20.
  16. Yep 2. So now we have 7 total picks - missing the 2nd. Sidenote, our 4th seems like we don't know who's original pick this is. At least I can't find that info.
  17. I think anyone in this category is safe, unless they did not play due to "injury." *cough*Perryman*cough*
  18. No reason to go out and put our ones vs his twos. Sure watching our 1st string dline destroy some guys would be fun, but would be even less meaningful. Sam throwing against lower tier players is just as pointless behind an oline that would look elite against that D. It'd be like an NFL team playing a college team. Sam and the 1's aren't gonna get any meaningful reps from that. Beyond that, what does that do for the Colts watching his 2's go against a much higher talent level? Eason would have been sacked 19 times. Why would Reich agree to that? Some of y'all don't think.
  19. I think that is what will happen at some point. Might not be week 1. Might not be till next season, but I'd bet sometime this year.
  20. I think this has been the plan all along. Build the team, throw darts at QB. If we don't have the QB position figured out by time we're ready, then go all in on the right guy. I think that happens next year or the year after if Darnold is not the answer. Personally, I wish they took Fields. I don't see a problem with throwing more darts every year instead of 1 at at time.
  21. He definitely was better than expected, but Tremble in the passing game is worth mentioning for biggest surprise as well.
  22. Additionally there was drama between Carter and Rhule beginning of last year. There literally was no other option on the roster than Whitehead. Once Carter decided to grow up a little bit and squash his beef with his HC, he started and the defense improved immediately.
  23. Agreed. He looked better today than last we saw of him...in 2019. PJ also looked improved from last year...mostly better decision making which is great. Those 3rd string guys were so bad. I did not see every play, I have a 3 year old, but what I saw he was mostly accurate and the receivers dropped a lot. He went 6/10 and from what I saw good decision making. I saw two drops, which would have made his stat line 8/10. I did see the throw on 3rd down go over the guys head. I thought he played a bit tepid overall. I think people saying he's the worst backup QB in the league are out of their damn minds. Compared to his play today, I've seen worse.....this week.
  24. Great post. I came here a couple months ago or whatever, mostly because it's pretty damn active here in the offseason. Over the last couple weeks, I've learned that a lot of folks here are dumb as fug. Or just trolls. Can't tell yet. I do appreciate those with measured, reasonable opinions though.
