  1. Even two is a stretch. He would have to have an agent advising him worse than whoever was representing Josh Norman in 2016. If Carolina can't get him to play left and they are keen on publicly questioning his value in comparison to his peers they are only hurting themselves in this process.
  2. If the team values Darnold then they will value the protection in front of him as well. Random Panthers employees are welcome to feel how they like but it is the Panthers with the need for Moton's services and thin quality tackle depth.
  3. You know it's a bunch of joe schmoe fans talking when they actually think this man is going to want to sign three separate tags. The best interest for TM is a long term deal especially for a lineman where there are so many potential variables out there on the field involving their legs in any given play through hundreds of football snaps.
  4. You had it right the first time with just blowing off steam that's all this place is where lines get blurred is when differing opinions become overly personal. This year is no different than years past there has always been much talk about the oline and when the same concerns loom large that will dominate the dialogue. If BC is now being talked about as the left tackle that is news to me. Last I heard they were talking about possibly guard. The whole reason for drafting him and the rejoice was for his abilities as a tackle. I have little faith in a castoff from multiple teams with injury concerns holding down the left spot.
  5. It's a big plus to see Sam putting in extra time on his footwork. Hopefully the oline gives him the opportunity to adequately put it to the test. It's tough to have an impact as a leader while laying on your back.
  6. Folks were homers about things during the Hurney and Gettleman days too quelling dissention and criticism is nothing new. But if things don't go our way as expected the same people will be crying foul in the fall and act like they never saw it coming
  7. Well they don't have much else to hang their hats on so I can't much blame them. For Carolina stepping out of the basement means beating up on bad teams like they should. I expect our defense to give Zach Wilson a very unpleasant welcome to the nfl.
  8. He should be well used to criticism by now. If he can't handle the heat we have bigger problems. Losing to the Jets would not be the end of the world. But after weeks of fans and media trashing that organization as incompetent and incapable it would be embarrassing for Carolina. The season opener is a must win and a much needed morale boost.
  9. Aspects of the team are trending upward such as the defense and weapons we have now but offensive line remains the question mark. Even mediocre Teddy Bridgewater made the oline look better than it was with his surprising mobility. That same noodle arm quarterback helped get his team in the playoffs with the Saints. Do you think their line had anything to do with him looking competent and the Panthers buying into his fools gold as a starter? Meanwhile Sam Darnold is still waiting to find out who will be his starting left tackle
  10. The Patriots are garbage but if it's about just trying to feed families all that hate for Ja'Wuan James a few months back looks out of place now.
  11. What about it is inaccurate? If he is healthy we can get by for the moment but it isn't a guarantee at all. Carolina didn't think Ryan Kalil would be done as quickly as he was but at 33 that was it. Gross was done at 33 as well. That's how it goes in sports.
  12. I don't see him as an issue or a weak link in the grand scheme. Looking at pff which is obviously loved or despised here based on which way the wind blows says he is not the same player he was in Denver. For where we are now that's okay he is serviceable for our needs. But it is a 17 game season so it is simply being realistic to point out he has missed time in the past. Carolina does not have an established left tackle penciled in as the starter currently and we traded for a young quarterback seeking to shake draft bust status after being rattled in ny. Yes left tackle is going to be a focal point right now for quite a few folks until we get some answers from camp and we hear more news about TM. If you struggle to reconcile with that maybe unplug.
  13. BC has the size and potential but they don't even know if he will be a guard or a tackle yet. Paradis is an aging temporary solution who has had struggles staying healthy. Then we brought in Erving who has the same concerns. Moton is the most dependable out of that group. Despite what some are saying the tag is not a real solution. Best case scenario is he moves to the left spot and they pay him accordingly. No one is fixated on you it is the other way around. If you don't want to hear things that could burst your bubble avoid the quote button then. People are going to have opinions about the offensive line and it is not going to be sunshine and rainbows until the team invests better.
  14. I get the logic you are trying to go with but it doesn't compute. We have invested three 1sts and two 2nds in the secondary and defensive line recently. The defense better look improved for that level of cost. Do you remember the last time Carolina drafted an offensive lineman in the first? Jeff Otah in 2008.
  15. The age of the bup bup bup. That should be an experience that will give wiser minds a little better perspective not to just start drinking the koolaid and never let up. Proceed with caution is the best route as a seasoned Carolina Panthers fan.
  16. We can skip the back and forth theatrics this go around. Let me ask you straight up. Are you concerned about left tackle? There is nothing wrong with being apprehensive at the sight of Carolina repeating the same approach that has given us one good season of left tackle play (2015) in a decade.
  17. Carolina was a pushover on their last two big money contracts. Now they want to play hardball with their best offensive tackle when they have a patchwork offensive line already? Not a great look.
  18. If he keeps improving he stands to make 90 million dollars or more on his next contract. Panthers better pay that man.
  19. There is plenty of stupidity online. This is all tame and harmless. Even the slapfights. One day you'll work up the courage to form a real opinion. I have faith in you big guy!
  20. How does one accumulate nearly 110k posts without offering any semblance of their own personal opinion on anything?
  21. Obvious answer is Darnold but one area that held the team back last year was getting off the field on third downs. I want to see how the secondary is shaping up.
  22. If you are only going to call me out you aren't being consistent so we don't need to derail this any further. Good talk.
  23. He will be 29 next month and he is on his third team in two years. His ability to stay on the field has plagued his career as much as his struggles playing tackle. It is a risk vs reward move but for Carolina more of the same so you can't blame fans or the media for panning the signing. Overall the up in the air status of the position is simply discouraging.
  24. There was no rudeness no namecalling so what is your issue? In another thread he called those with opinions opposing his hoes yet I did not see you there giving him a stern talking to over that. He has anyone who challenges his viewpoint on ignore anyway so I suppose it doesn't matter.
  25. If players took your approach they would go around patting themselves on the back all day long and never improve. Take off the shades from time to time.
