  1. Take last night's game for example. One of the wildest games I have ever seen. Did either team force feed one offensive skill player?
  2. I miss them but the 80's and 90's are gone this is a new era of football and multiple playmakers are what wins championships. The Bucs have a slew of weapons at wide receiver and can you even name all their running backs? If you want to run with the best you have to be able to score at least 20 or 30 points in this league and we got held to 19 by the worst of the bunch. This is not something to celebrate. No offense but we're in for a brutal reality check if the coaches think the way you're talking.
  3. The best teams and the best offenses in the league have versatility and can carve up defenses in multiple ways. That usually does not involve one non-QB player doing it all and if it does they usually don't prevail because they are one dimensional and this is a team sport.
  4. Can't make a true judgement on Santoso for at least two or three more games but I do think we are finally due for just a little stability at the position. Hopefully.
  5. I have not totally given up on Ian Thomas we can still find use for him. But they need chemistry together if I were Sam I would have all the guys out there catching passes as often as possible develop a rapport the lack of reps together in preseason had an effect. Our lone long TD was to Anderson who Darnold has the most history with that is no coincidence. Get on the same page.
  6. I can't argue with that. I just want to defeat the Saints and smug ass Sean Payton. We haven't popped them in the mouth proper in years and them sweeping us and rubbing our noses in it with Ted Ginn still stings. Tbh this weekend is one of the biggest home games I can recall in years. No Brees? We're finally fielding a good defense again? CMC is healthy? We have receiving weapons? This W needs to happen.
  7. Criticism of his on field performance or off the field legal troubles is fair game but this stuff about IQ and crab legs is cringy af.
  8. Let's just hope we don't lose to this guy. When was the last time a Carolina Panthers quarterback threw 5 touchdown passes? It's been awhile. https://www.al.com/sports/2015/12/see_cam_newton_throw_5_touchdo.html
  9. All bluster and back and forth aside I don't think you do we all seek the same thing. We know CMC is one of the top offensive weapons in the league but we also made the decision to extend him to a large contract before we got our oline even halfway built up right and we have made very little effort to locate a correct back to spell him and offer a yin to his yang and this is why we find ourselves in this dilemma. I do not think he is a goal line 3rd and 1 or 4th and 1 back he just isn't built for it I don't know how many times we have to see that fail before we understand what works and it's the same maddening thing with a new staff and I say that while making it clear I like Matt Rhule and want him to succeed. As of rn we are far too predictable and struggling in the redzone and that is a carryover from the previous regime we really do not want to see. I fear we made a mistake in only rolling with Chuba behind CMC and thinking we were good but we shall see. We need a guy who can punch it in on those short yardage situations and if it isn't anyone on the roster they're willing to give a chance to like Royce they need to locate him or this season is going to get rough. That's about it.
  10. Ha you got me. Gotta take what you can get right? Sounds like Panthers fans the last few years with our moral victories and meaningless records. Here's to hoping '21 is different
  11. The Carolina Panthers record the last two seasons speaks for itself. Stay mad dude.
  12. For sure there were execution issues but you have to let those young players take their lumps so they can build on it and if they can't next man up. Even 22 had issues in his rookie year you'll never know what their potential is if you're scared to give them snaps bc of a mistake especially in the second half of a game you were previously in control of.
  13. You aren't going to get through to some of these ppl. They thought 5 wins in 2019 was a reason to rejoice bc we gave McCaffrey the most touches of any rb in the league.
  14. Well you'll have to look at the number of touches to form a full picture and consider that for another 16 games it obviously isn't feasible if they want him available late in the year. We have a first round WR in DJ Moore a WR we just inked to a 37 million dollar contract in Anderson and a WR we just drafted in Terrace Marshall on top of new additions to the backfield like Chuba Hubbard yet McCaffrey was by far the leader across the board in our offensive output. Despite all that we only netted two touchdowns and zero were in the second half. For game one I wouldn't say I am very concerned but we need to be getting these younger guys involved in the gameplan so they can gain continuity with Sam Darnold.
  15. Didn't do them much good last year. Goff threw for almost 400 yards the Rams took away Brady's run game and they still lost. Hate him or not Tom is good at what he does. Btw go ahead and just spam all the posts with poop if it soothes your ego big guy. Have a great day
  16. True but they defeated the opponent in front of them and kept their foot on the gas. You could be right but we'll see how the Jets do in the following weeks. At the end of the day if you want your team to get to the next level you defeat the bad teams soundly and don't let them hang around like we did on our own field.
  17. Seemed like last year our special teams was better than usual. Now we're just thankful we have someone that can fair catch without a catastrophe. I guess we're back to the same ol' same ol' now. Some things just never change with the Panthers.
  18. What's sad is if you want to see a team that previously finished with 5 wins the year before soundly defeat an opponent you need look no further than the Bridgewater led Denver Broncos. And they spread the ball around against an inferior opponent. If there are Panthers fans who really don't think our playcalling could use some fine tuning their delusions will hit a wall at some point this season.
  19. Speaking of Arnold.. https://www.charlotteobserver.com/sports/spt-columns-blogs/scott-fowler/article253280488.html "I asked him to describe his style of play." “I’m always going to be hustling,” Arnold said. “I’m always going to be trying to do everything I can to scratch and claw and to make plays, because I started out as a D-3 guy with a tryout, and then I got sent home.” I'm really hoping some of these guys assert themselves more and show us who they really are against the Saints at home. It's only week 2 but I think this will truly show us what we have in this young roster so far.
  20. For context Erving was graded at 58 for 2020 and Elflein was graded at 48.
  21. Some of that is just continuity and building chemistry which is why there was so much talk about fewer preseason reps. But we must trust our younger depth players and keep giving them opportunities if we want to do better than third in the division again. Mix things up and keep defenses honest. It should not take a career day from your rb1 to defeat the Jets by 5 when you have the WR room we are working with.
  22. Apparently we didn't score more than 19 on the worst team in the league bc we didn't want to show too much on game film this early. Now that's funny right there
  23. Sorry but we need much better than Jake 2.0 or whatever. He chucked up so many prayer balls and he would have a hard time in today's NFL without a prime 89 to pluck those out of the air and save his bacon. Sam needs to be accurate and get into a rhythm and he will be fine. But we MUST spread the ball around and quit this 1980's one man show nonsense.
  24. Yeah and we're still too predictable in those situations with Rhule like we were with Ron Rivera. Compare recent ineffectiveness in the red zone running the ball to the end of the week 2 loss against Tampa Bay in 2019 and tell me our redzone offense is much better. It really isn't and that's a problem. You can't blame it all on the line either.
