Rhule: Moton is the top RT and second LT behind Erving.
frankw replied to SgtJoo's topic in Carolina Panthers
The spot should be earned if Erving can't go bummer but next man up! -
What's done is done no sense kicking him on his way out he didn't draft himself. I'm thankful we have Chinn and Marshall and hopefully we will keep that streak going now that the former radio host is gone.

You log on here just to poop posts and slink away but it's everyone else that's toxic? It's just sports go take a nice walk don't take it out on others in your personal life ✌

Calling fans assholes for having the nerve of wanting adequate oline protection for the starting quarterback that you have spent months defending from any and all possible criticism is indicative of your general toxic attitude toward differing views. Yet others are the problem while you are the victim. Right. Personally I was good with both the picks of Christensen and Brown but the question was all the loafing back and forth about is BC a guard or a tackle and the big reason for optimism when we selected him was that he would hold down the right or left spot. As long as we can protect the quarterback there will be few complaints it's as simple as that.

That's a classic! Sorry they're not playing Conway Twitty

You don't want to give up on the guy early but this is what people were trying to tell some fans who had him penciled in as the next all pro Panthers linebacker. Carolina took risks on multiple oft injured players for key roles and so far it's going as expected. Somehow the team didn't see it though.

Honestly expected this at some point after his sudden exit from the scouting dept. I don't have any animosity toward the Bills it's not like it's a rival and they are an AFC team anyway. But whatever capacity he is there visiting in I can't call it anything but a loss for Carolina with one of the youngest rosters in the league and a defense in need of leadership and mentorship. This regime really needs a winning season or at least something to build on. Good luck to Luke.

He will be able to rehab and get another shot next year hopefully. We all want to win but you can strive for that standard without losing your humanity. I wish him luck in his recovery.

The two most outspoken posters shouting about this are also the two most volatile contributors who engage in personal attacks most frequently while asking for moderation over difference of opinion. They know who they are. I'm sure I'll get another poop for this post from one of them momentarily lol.

Considering he's been at this thing for a short time he did just fine. We could do much worse than having one of the best players in franchise history commentating for us. I welcome more of it.

Until results prove otherwise I can't say Sam is head and shoulders above PJ. Both quarterbacks can sling it and move around the pocket well but both quarterbacks have questionable decision making and that's the variable that can make or break the season. But both are still much better options than Bridgewater was because they'll actually take chances and try to push the ball downfield. But when you look at it from that angle Teddy never should have been here in the first place.

Neither of you are really wrong. The issue is value of investment and the Panthers unwillingness to put all their chips in and acquire the face of their franchise. They only did so in 2011 begrudgingly but they were rewarded for it in a big way. As long as they're only willing to budget mode the most important position in the nfl odds are they will keep yielding the same results.

I totally hear you. It was a preseason game. But Carolina also has a penchant for letting random quarterbacks dump all over their secondary. In the regular season. I want to see our 8th overall pick get some solid reps before the season starts.
-
It was better than I anticipated but it was definitely sloppy with penalties and PJ's mobility saved the offense on more than one occasion. There are some things to like moving forward but at the end of the day these were backups playing backups and Carolina will undoubtedly be seeking any upgrades to their oline depth that they can find once cuts begin.

You have to admit this is just a little hypocritical after months of cherry picking stats in defense of Darnold and other free agent acquisitions fans have had reservations about...
-
Oh I agree don't get me wrong. But at some point with all the losing it just turns into a big vent session. It hasn't helped going straight from the extremely deflating Bridgewater mess to an unknown in Sam Darnold after for better or worse passing on drafting a quarterback. If September brings wins that will go a long way in restoring good vibes and quality conversation. If not. Well...

Not sure what you expect from a franchise that has been largely stuck in a funk of perpetual losing for 25 years save for a few bright spot seasons here and there along the way. If the team starts winning again things will improve and if not the fanbase will just keep eating itself. I doubt it's much better on the Jets or Lions forums either.
-
There's really no excuse in not having a plan for crowd noise though that's a lack of preparation. For all the talk of preseason reps being unnecessary for our starters that omission is not a good look for anyone.
-
Had this issue as well. Unlikely you missed much though if you had actually recorded as my feed was crummy for half the game and went out multiple times. They only had it fixed finally in the third quarter.

For me it's more the fact that we are going through this all over again after the same thing with Gano. Not every team has a great kicker situation obviously but not every team goes from one mess to the next either. The Panthers can't afford to be leaving points on the board which is why we could have at least brought in another leg in camp but what's done is done. Here's to hoping Slye becomes more consistent but odds are he remains who he has been to this point. Boom or bust.

You'll have to wait until Irving can make it onto the field first.
-
If we value Sam's health and want him to play a full season for the first time in his career yes.
-
I'm much less concerned about holding a lead as I am about maximizing red zone opportunities and settling for field goals with an inconsistent kicker who is even struggling with PATs.

The end to the game there should put the exclamation mark on the quarterback depth of this team. "We've seen him in practice. Now we need to see him in a game." 89 bottom line
