Oh come on with the melodrama man let's be two real adults here. He's sitting on 38 million dollars guaranteed no matter what happens. He's been handed starting gigs since high school. Nobody is out to get Bryce Young. He wanted to be the #1 pick. He sat out the combine in order to ensure he would be in this position. He gamed the system. He got what he wanted and this is what comes with the territory. Mentioning Bryce in the same sentence as Cam in this aspect is honestly disrespectful and you of all people should know better. Bryce Young has never in his life had to go through the adversity that Cam Newton did before he even got to Auburn. Bryce has had the absolute best to work with since high school and has walked his way into starting positions on some of the best teams. Cam Newton conversely had to work his ass off just to shed the reputation of being a bad person for little more than a simple mistake over a laptop. Then he had to EARN his way back to being a starter. He proceeded to carry an Auburn team to a championship win. He was a champion through and through not just on the field but in life. That's why it was a culture shock for him. I have no idea why I'm having to explain this difference to you considering all your bluster over Cam Newton through the years. In actuality and we've had this discussion before and you usually change the subject or take off but CJ Stroud is actually the correct comparison for Cam Newton as far as predraft treatment and overall perception of him and his character goes. Bryce Young in no way shape or form fits that bill. He's had every excuse afforded to him for a long time and been treated like royalty. Now people are acknowledging his shortcomings and while I sympathize with him on a personal level. Again I emphasize. He wanted this. He got it. All anyone has ever wanted to see is him display himself worthy of the selection. Myself included. 🫳

There can be multiple things true at one time. The Panthers can be an awful organization ran by the Tepper's. And Bryce Young can always have been doomed as a starting QB in this league regardless of destination. The biggest thing about Bryce aside from everything he lacks on the field is he has absolutely no fire in his belly or a chip on his shoulder. That will get you a bust at #1 overall regardless of extenuating circumstances.

These injuries so early in the season are too much to overcome. Just have to wait it out for another week or two.

It's a pipe dream of course. If that ends up bupkis we'll have to sign one of the veteran FA's next year. There's a few options but nothing to get too excited about. https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/free-agents/_/year/2025/position/wr/sort/contract_value

All depends on the contract. But some folks here are kinda talking out of the side of their neck and shifting standards. Because if just barely a month ago it was okay to overpay Diontae Johnson who has shown himself to be the opposite of a leader with now two different teams the first of which looks just fine without him then there's no reason we can't at least kick the tires on Higgins in the offseason.

Micic is ASSSS. Get him off the court and leave this fuging guy in Atlanta.
-
Tee Higgins is younger than DJ Moore. He's not turning 29 next year like Johnson and he doesn't have the baggage either. Yes I would be thrilled to have him here.

Playing possum. Got em' right where we want em' for the second half comeback
-
He'll be in street clothes over a thumb sprain? Comical. Yes it is safe to say we will see Plummer at some point.

Hawks on the road tonight and the Heat at home tomorrow. Time to put these fools on notice.

Let it burn.

Dan Graziano: Panthers will trade Diontae Johnson
frankw replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
Let's be real with one another. Anyone who watched Bryce Young play QB last season that wasn't giving lip service because he played for Alabama already knew what was more than likely going to transpire regardless of Johnson. Yes he's talented. But he is realistically at best a solid second option in an offense that already an indisputable #1. We didn't need him to know what we had in Bryce. The reasoning for the trade was low risk high reward but he was a known malcontent. The Steelers should damn well know one when they see one after Antonio Brown. Come on now. If random fans online knew it then Morgan certainly knew what he was getting into and that it was unlikely he would sign with us long term. This was the kind of trade Fitterer would make. Kind of like when Scott traded for Gilmore knowing he wouldn't stay here. Ultimately just ends up being a waste of everyone's time. Meh. -

Don't blame him one iota for feeling that way regarding that. But he was already done before this. Never should have traded for him at this point. Fans of the Steelers who came by to talk about the trade told us what was up with Diontae. -

I think saying he's qualified is being generous just my opinion. He was here as Fitterer's righthand man through far too many bad decisions. And let's be real. He knew as much as we did Bryce Young had a very slim chance of becoming a franchise QB this season. He and Canales decided to continue coddling Bryce and didn't give him any legit competition in camp and once again set their fanbase up for an utterly embarrassing season. To have sold out the defense the way they did just to make absolutely no attempt at adding another young QB to this roster not named Plummer is egregious. Also all that money Dan tied up in the OL and we couldn't move the ball whatsoever on a 4th and 1. Morgan absolutely does not get a pass at least in my POV. He needs to start showing some high quality returns and soon. -

Canales has a little rope left but I would absolutely love to get an actual qualified GM in here. Tepper won't hire anyone that doesn't constantly grovel though. -

He's washed at best. Needs to be traded for anything we can get or cut. -

Nobody is even expecting "great leadership" here. We haven't sniffed the playoffs in going on 7 years now. But if someone is wanting a top end contract it is never going to be a good look on any team in any circumstances to throw your teammates under the bus while you're giving low effort and quitting on routes. Idk if it's that some of our fans are just desperate to cling to anything that resembles decent receiver play or what but character matters too. People gave DJ Moore a lot of poo that honestly he didn't deserve but I never heard him act like a bitch about his teammates to the media like that. Truth is truth. -

That's terrible I'm glad he's alright. Not expecting much of anything though. -

Overpaying Diontae Johnson which is what it would have taken to even begin to convince him to stay is not going to help us in the long run. If you wanna hitch your wagon to him do your thing bud. -
What would a successful game for Young look like?
frankw replied to TN05's topic in Carolina Panthers
To his credit he had a higher YPA than even Jordan Love at 8.7. He was pushing the ball. But everything else he's done says it was a mirage. It's okay CRA we know he stinks. Even with his size and phsyical attribute disadvantage the biggest thing is he just plays too timid overall. There's no killer instinct. The complete opposite of what you need to see from a first overall pick. -

His best game to date against the Packers he spent most of his time planting his feet and making strikes downfield from the pocket. Having ability outside the pocket and utilizing that as some QB's do when necessary is completely different from not being able to function within the pocket and having to move out of the pocket just to see the field. Other than that one game Bryce has not displayed an ability to function within the pocket. Defenses know it and they play him accordingly.
