Scott Fowler on game, Young, Panthers. Not wrong
frankw replied to raleigh-panther's topic in Carolina Panthers
We used to say this when Cam was still the starter. Needless to say we're a lonnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnng way from that. Now we have what looks like at current best case scenario a solid backup caliber QB we selected #1 overall. And still there are some people deadset against even the thought of adding a young QB to a current QB room comprised of Andy Dalton and Jack Plummer lol. -
Of course it is. We set these wheels in motion to put our #1 pick in the best possible situation to succeed. We knew this would get ugly when we spent 150 million on the OL in free agency and traded up for both of our first 2 picks for offense. This is like setting your house on fire and then screaming your head off that someone else did it. And somehow our offense is still largely cheeks.

You consider anything that challenges your POV trolling. And the victim angle is falling on deaf ears my friend everyone sees you rage pooing posts and you've been doing that for weeks now. It's basically boy who cried wolf at this point. But keep doing your thing.

Scott Fowler on game, Young, Panthers. Not wrong

We've gotten embarrassed multiple times this season. How many times does it need to happen for something to finally click? Sounds like we need to shake some things up across the roster IMO beginning with the most consequential position. -
The last post he made was about the Jalen Coker touchdown. After that he went radio silence. He and some others are quick to barrel in and namedrop people here only when the Panthers look decent. Some of us are here talking Panthers regardless of the results good bad or ugly but when Bryce has a bad game people like Icege just dip out. He did the same thing when Teddy was the starter. There's a word for it. Fairweather.

Likely going to end up being a lesser name and at this point it does not matter all that much. Regardless people should go ahead and reconcile with the fact we're likely to see some of the same issues next season. Getting Derrick Brown back will obviously be huge but there are still many many needs for this defense and we can only do so much in a single offseason especially consider the offense is still floundering.

Our Running Game Sucks and we Don't Talk About It Enough
frankw replied to Steves89's topic in Carolina Panthers
Without even the threat of a vaguely viable passing offense there is no run game in this league. Outside of that broken coverage play for a touchdown by Jalen Coker we had less than 150 passing yards. Creating a thread to say you don't want to discuss the passer behind center that we traded up a haul to acquire but only want to talk about the run game like it's the fuging 1990's is why we can't productively discuss this offense anymore. If your passing offense is consistently not getting it done and the best you've looked all year long scoring output wise was with a 37 year old Andy Dalton you keep looking for the next QB. -

You don't really care yet you've got time to sit around early in the morning and poo posts about him. Sure. You keep on keeping on. -
No bring in some competition in the offseason and see how he performs next year with the 5th year option looming.
-
You offer a list numbered 1-5 and put turnovers last yet you're supposedly seeking meaningful dialogue? Posts that poke holes in your narrative because they highlight inconvenient truths = trolling in your eyes. But it's okay for you to stay up late making excuses for Bryce Young. Clearly some of ya'll are more invested in running interference for this kid like you're one of his parents than actually establishing a winning football franchise again.
-
Canales playcalling left some things to be desired but we entered the second half down 10-7 in decent shape. The defense wasn't great but they had kept us in it. We got the ball to start the second half Bryce fumbled momentum swung to Dallas and they proceeded to score a touchdown and then our run game was out the window. Saying it was abandoned as if it was going to save us is disingenuous. Bryce Young's turnovers doomed us. That is the story of the game.
-
Under Tepper there isn't one. Plain and simple. But we still talk and invest like we're a pound the rock team. Chuba Hubbard is certainly a talented back for us and we paid him as such. Unfortunately he can't do it himself. And he definitely can't do it if we find ourselves in an early hole and have to dig our way out. Clearly the Cowboys have been watching film of our offense in recent weeks and summarily took away everything that Bryce Young had success with. One step forward two steps back on repeat is all I see. But at the end of the day when the game is on the line your first overall pick is who you turn to. What round was Mr. Three Touchdowns Cooper Rush drafted in again? Oh he wasn't? Interesting.
-
I do not claim to be a better evaluator of talent but I can see with my own two eyes this QB room has to change. And just saying but in fairness I wasn't enamored with the notion of trading up into the second round for a running back with a torn ACL but I gave them the benefit of the doubt at the time. Appreciate the kind words as always NAS. You're so measured and rational.
-
You consider losing by multiple scores and being unable to manage additional garbage time points at the end of the game without throwing a very ugly interception on his final drive not only not folding but a sign of progress? And if you remove the 83 yard touchdown pass in the 2nd quarter he had 136 passing yards for the game. By your standad we might as well bring in Kyle Allen and give him another look.
-
I would not use the word incompetent. If they make no significant effort to revamp the QB room I would consider it negligence. And it's their jobs on the line not ours.
-
I'm not assuming any of those things. What I am assuming is that Dan and Dave both have the basic awareness to know they cannot just stroll into next season at QB the same way they did this year if they value their jobs.
-
Indeed. It's very simple. If the draft plays out where the Panthers are up next and one of the top QB's are available Dan Morgan and Dave Canales cannot afford to say no thanks. It does not matter how Bryce Young plays over the next 3 games or what he did over the last few. The broader body of work is there for anyone to see.
-
If he is the future why is it that Andy Dalton managed to orchestrate what is still the highest scoring game of the season? And he stinks.
-
You're "totally fine if we move on" but are deadset against drafting a QB at any point next year and fine with just running it back with this QB room? Do you actually think the other players on the roster whose careers depend on all this are good with that? Does Bryce Young matter more than them? I do not think you are this measured and rational person you falsely present yourself to be. How many posts of yours have I pooed simply because I disagree with you? Now direct that same question at yourself and assess.
-
Where did I say Dalton is good? You removed the rest of the post that clearly stated what he is at this stage in his career. And that's the point. He stinks. But he's still the best we've seen at any point in the last 2 seasons. And yet still there are people such as yourself here with subterranean level standards for Bryce Young. And you telling someone else they see what they want to see is peak hypocrisy to the point I might have to get you a wellness check.
-
I mean let's get down to the nitty gritty truth here. The best we've seen this offense at any point in the season was with Dalton. The only game where we scored 30 or more points. And guess what? Andy Dalton is so terrible and washed at this stage in his career we had to milk his sprained thumb for weeks. Raise your standards my man geesh.
-
Canales deserves criticism and needs to give up playcalling duties but you also need to grapple with the reality that this passing offense just can't gain any real traction with Bryce Young behind center.
-
Your definition of solid varies greatly from mine. Daniel Jones meltdown was a huge swing in our only win out of those 5 games. This Dallas team had a poorly ranked defense. There's simply no excuse for only 50 or so passing yards outside of the long TD to Jalen Coker. That specifically has been the concern about Bryce Young as a passer to the point where if he gets over 250 passing yards we have to pinch one another to make sure we aren't dreaming. Luckily for us you won't be making that decision. Some other folks whose jobs depend on how Bryce Young performs will likely feel otherwise.
-
That wasn't a dip. How many times does he need to bounce back? How many times did we let Kyle Allen bounce back?????? It's legitimately wild this is your standard considering you go out of your way to poo posts.
