  1. Our D has a lot of potential. D. Brown to me is the key. If he can hold his gap and B. Burns can set his edge we may be able to stop the run, especially when Wilson is on the field at MLB. The trouble will come If Brown and Leonidas can't hold their gaps in our Hybrid sets, then when move to more even fronts will Burns be able to set his edge. Our personnel use isn't always paired well. Chinn (or Rhodes) in the box more could help. I hope we figure it out, b/c we do have good personnel at most positions.
  2. Yeah, like Luciu5 said- the Reading the defenses and communicating with the OL on protections will be his biggest test probably. Maybe Bozeman will help here.
  3. That's a double edge sword. A simpler offense is too easy to diagnose and defend. The defense has a tremendous edge on the rookie and the team as a whole. That's how you end 5-12 for the season. a double edged sword "indeed." I Think you keep all the plays and reads but limit progressions or put some other rule on Matt to ease him into the offense, Expand the progressions as he gets faster and more comfortable maybe.... 1-2 reads and a checkdown -then run or throw the ball away?
  4. Luke's Role on Sunday's when not broadcasting.
  5. "Sit" or "Play". Its the age old question about rookie QBs. IMO its whoever has their sh-t together the most at the end of preseason. If Corral is running the offense as good or better than Sam (or Baker, Colt McCoy, Garden Gnome Minshew, whoev's) then he should start. If he isn't, then the other guy should get the green light. hopefully they will be *honest and smart in their Camp evaluations and play the guy who gives us the best shot to win. *I know that's a lot to hope for
  6. It seems most (or at least a lot) of Huddlers think Baker is an upgrade. The issue seems to be the cost. We have only heard bits and pieces about what the trade could include. Baker for Sam (most of us like this as long as it doesn't include too much other compensation)-This has since been reported as unlikely Baker for Sam and RA (Lots of us seem to like this one too). You'd expect we get some extra compensation here...then not too bad- but what about straight up? Baker for RA (mmm...these seems to work for many of us but what about Sam and his contract?) What if Cleveland pays half of Baker's contract too? If they did would we give up any late round draft capital? A lot to consider here maybe.... Baker for Draft Capital (again what about Sam's contract?) It has been reported that they have offered to pay half Baker's salary. Is that enough? What would be enough? How much draft capital would we be ok with giving up? Could we make it conditional? If so-How about that? Baker to Carolina in a Multi-Player Mega Trade (What if they offered Baker and someone else for RA and someone else--but not Sam--oowwwh and his contract again....) Wow...This would make a big splash. Who could it include besides Robby and Baker? They have been talking about this potential Baker Trade for awhile so I wonder what all has been thrown into the POT on any proposed deals. Imagining that Coaches, Players, and Owners are trying to compete and actually win games this year are there any of these options that might work? What do you guys think?
  7. I like this one better for the Saints.
  8. If i was the OC I'd rather pull with BC. He is athletic and I like the idea of putting him on a LB, Safety, or CB. Icky could wall those plays off or just be better at moving bigger ends and edges out of the way. That said if he was pulling I pity whoever gets in his way.
  9. Well they don't have long into the season due to the trade deadline. I think its like week 7 or 8 usually. Someone generally goes down before then. They have options and even if they do release him- he could go a different route (teams that aren't interested may take a second look cuz in effect he's being paid by Cleveland and so would most likely sign cheaply). he may be willing to backup Brady (or anyone really) for a couple more M. plus my browns check.
  10. Its hard to say until pads come on. BC seems to be a smart player- he knows the playbook and the calls. He also has great feet and can get to his spots (especially when there is not a lot of contact). Ike is learning and he has also only focused on LT which kinda tells me that's where Camden wants him. When pads come on the staff will really know what they have. I'm anticipating Ike throwing Burns into the stands on running plays- but having trouble on passing downs. We will see.
  11. Yeah- Later in the season when QBs go down someone will offer them something for him and take the contract too.
  12. This might be true. Sam is bigger and has a great arm. He can move a bit also. Its his mental game that is failing him. I have not seen enough of Baker to know if his mental game is superior enough to give up anything in a trade for him. Based on what I have seen and heard, I'm not thrilled about the possibility of losing draft capital or too much cap space for him.
  13. In all seriousness I like BC. I think he's a little too light to play guard, but maybe he's stronger this year. I hope he gets a chance to start IF he is actually one of our best 5 OL.
  14. His Arms Must have grew!
  15. As a fan I want to see Corral. That said- I'm not sure if its the best move. His offense at Ole Miss (if I understand it and what Macadoo is installing somewhat correctly) seemed a lot different and less complicated (from all the talk) than what we will have. I really like the idea of letting the players compete for the job and seeing who wins the job. Like I said before though- It really worries me who makes that decision especially since there won't be a lot of live bullets in camp until the preseason. I think its safe to say Darnold plays a lot better without the live bullets.
  16. Baker when the deal is done and Rhule and Fit offer him a contract extension the same day! JK that wont happen....will it?
  17. WAIT! Is Weinke an option this year...?!
  18. Of the QBs currently on the roster I think Darnold will start. If there is a trade or another FA QB signed then it'll probably be that guy (why else would we make a move). Who do I want....whoever wins the job with their play in camp. I just worry that the people that make those decisions will not make the best choice.
  19. I worry about this actually. Icky was a great run blocker in college, but BC doesn't get much push if he's our starting LG. Also teams will load the box (as they did last year). It is imperative that the QB can make it through his progressions and throw the ball down the field somewhat successfully to really help our OL and running game take off.
  20. Sam's on the books for guaranteed $19m. We drafted a young QB. There is only so much room on the roster for a QB. If we were to pick up another we'd have to cut PJ....Who wants that?
  21. Yeah but with Dunlap and YGM both able to slide inside it might not affect his snaps as much as you think. He might eat into D. Brown, D. NIxon or Matt L. snaps too. If you are saying that Rhule/Snow will not use him in the best way and phase out YGM--I can understand why you'd be concerned- but In most situations adding this guy is a no brainer IMO.
  22. Probably get us more wins than Sammy or PJ---
  23. Dunlap would kind of replace Morgan Fox in the rotation- while Haynes and Luvu (maybe Barno) replacing Reddick. If YTM play well and stays healthy he will get more snaps (or at least should) anyway. Dunlap (280 lbs) also offers the chance to play two true DE's in the Event Front on big packages (with Burns out or playing off the ball)
  24. I imagine Shaq and Littleton as the LBs in the nickel-Shaq in the Dime. We will try to use Haynes/Luvu as stand up edge rushers opposite of Burns in odd fronts (3-4) more than likely. Yetur and Burns in even fronts I'd guess. Wilson (if he remains a Panther) may help against the run. He is big and plays downhill well. I think they are hoping Brandon Smith can show enough to rotate in for Littleton at times. I was kind of imaging the 4-3 with Smith-Shaq-Littleton as the backers. Sounds good if Shaq could pickup the Mike and Smith really develop into a good player (That's a lot of IFs tho).
