  1. Nothing. I would love for Young or Stroud to fall to us but we've been giving up draft picks for years. Time to build.
  2. You need a competent oline and some playmakers for a young qb to develop. By the time Justin Fields has this he will be in a wheelchair. I wouldn't mind keeping Sam while Corral and whomever we draft develop, but he is not worth anything near the 18M we are currently paying him. He would have to take a huge salary cut and realize that getting the young guys snaps and experience is also a priority.
  3. We got to see all three in the SEC East this year. Hooker had more talent around him, but his stats against similar competition were much better than Levis and a ton better than Richardson. All three of these players should go in the second round but won't. I hope we don't reach with our first pick.
  4. He is better but, more importantly, is a lot cheaper. We have no one to play qb right now. Corral is not ready and whoever we get in the draft won't be ready either.
  5. I remember Robbie Anderson (I know not the best source) yelling on the sidelines that the defense knew our routes before we ran them. Brady was a co-coordinator in college, and offensive coordinator for us, and now is a qb coach on a team that doesn't really need a qb coach. He was Rhule's pick. It is possible that both Rhule AND Brady were the problem. Please hire a proven OC.
  6. My personal opinion is to take Bryce Young or CJ Stroud at 8 IF they are available. If they are not, trade back or pick up a position of need and look for a qb in the second round. I don't see that much difference between Richardson/Levis vs. Hendon Hooker.
  7. Darnold makes over 18M and Carr makes over 17M. Either of them would have to take a huge salary cut to make them real options. Someone mentioned Gardner Minshew who will be a free agent. He is currently making 2.5M.
  8. Pairing a questionable defensive minded head coach hire with a quarterbacks coach who has never called plays before sounds like a great idea. Joe Brady level great idea.
  9. There is simply not. Hell, Young and Stroud have warts. The guys after them look like second round fliers. Wilks has really kind of screwed us with a worst case scenario: Wilks winning gives us the 8th pick and him as hc and he keeps McAdoo and drafts Anthony Richardson at 8.
  10. We currently pick 8 and first round qb's have some of the biggest bust rates of any position. Blindly taking a qb in round 1 is not the answer. We need to keep our options open. Quality qb falls to us take him. If not, trade back and take the Notre Dame TE or edge or wr. I still want to see what Corral can do with some real coaching and practice snaps.
  11. You almost always get a bump after a coach, especially a tool like Rhule, gets fired. Let's not buy the bump and let's not let the players pick the coach. The big question for Wilks is whether he can put together a top staff because this bunch minus oline is not that impressive.
  12. Baker Mayfield is having a great game in LA right now.
  13. People keep talking about how bad Florida is but their last four recruiting classes were 9, 7, 12, and 18 (and that was the '22 class). People forget how bad Florida looked with Anthony Richardson.
  14. Rhule turned troubled programs Temple and Baylor around. I would hire him to be a college coach. He's just not a pro coach and neither were Spurrier, Saban, or Meyer. He will do ok at Nebraska. Will the new coach do ok here? Probably not for a while.
  15. Some of the experts and our coaches had Corral ranked as the top qb prospect in the draft. The new coach will either agree with that or he won't. I know whoever Tepper picks won't think Corral is the worst qb in last year's draft based on what little was learned about him with the Panthers. I know if Carolina continues to use draft capital to go after qb's they will continue to suck. We have more problems than qb. And, Anthony Richardson is a big gamble that will take years to develop. He is more of a sit behind Aaron Rodgers a few years type. I'm pretty confident that Corral would beat him out in the short term.
  16. They seem pretty bunched up. Mayer may not be worth the 8th pick. We could get quality in the second or even third round. 2023 TEs
  17. TE would be a stretch at 8 or lower so i would expect us to trade back and take the TE from Notre Dame or wait until round 2. There are a couple of good edge rushers and a wr who would fit nicely at 8. If we take Anthony Richardson at 8, we will have to wait at least three years before he is deemed a bust and dropped like a bad habit.
  18. We are up to 8th now. Our needs are qb, te, wr, edge, lb. I hope we don't reach and, instead, take the best available at need position. Tyree Wilson Texas Tech Edge, Quentin Johnson TCU WR, Will Levis UK QB, Myles Murphy Clemson Edge, Michael Mayer Notre Dame TE are all right around there. I am not impressed with Levis or Anthony Richardson at qb so i would look for Hendon Hooker UT QB in round two. If Bryce Young or Stroud are available, take them. If not, Edge or WR is fine. That is my two cents. If we take this strategy, we could also move back for someone that wants Levis or Richardson.
  19. His stock goes up by bailing on his teammates? UF was 6-6 and terrible w/ Richardson. They would have lost with him too, but i can't blame him for sitting out. More film of his throwing with a 49% completion rate isn't going to help his draft stock. Bryce Young is going to play in his bowl.
  20. Most have Bryce Young, CJ Stroud, Will Levis, Tanner McKee. I would personally take Hendon Hooker over Levis and McKee. PFF ranks I would have Anthony Richardson sixth and well into the second round. People kept talking about how last year's qb class was weak and how this one was strong. I am just not seeing a strong qb class. Young and Stroud and then a pretty big drop off.
  21. Just because you draft a qb in the first round does not mean they are a first round talent. It depends on the year. If Atlanta had reached for Desmond Ridder in the first round instead of waiting for him to fall in the third round, would he be a better prospect? Of course not. There are four legit first round talents in this draft and then there is Anthony Richardson. We will be drafting after the teams who need qb's have already picked. We could trade down for a legit first round talent, but I am sick and tired of giving up draft capital for qbs.
  22. Anthony Richardson is obviously Josh Allen. You win. And comparing Josh Allen with Wyoming talent against the top 25 vs. Anthony Richardson with Florida talent against the top 25 is pretty unfair. We are going to pick outside of the quality qb picks. Taking a qb with our 1 will be a real reach and a Rhule type desperation move.
  23. You mean the guys that said to trade Teddy, give up picks for Darnold, and give up picks for Mayfield? Hendon Hooker's completion % vs. top 25 is 69.7. QB picks are a crap shoot and more likely to bust than be stars.
  24. Taking future bust Anthony Richardson in the first round would be such a Panther's pick. I guess I am the only one on here that watches any college football at all. His completion percentage vs. AP top 25 teams is 49.1.
  25. The problem i see with Reich is he got outcoached by a guy with only highschool experience.
