  1. I remember him in college. He was a freak track athlete in highschool and turned into a great edge in college.
  2. Is Baker really that bad or did he just not get along w/ OBJ who is a basket case? Sam Darnold is going to do much better this year and Baker would only help us win a game or two more and limit reps for Corral so spending ANY draft capital on him makes 0 sense.
  3. Neither Joe Burrow nor Lamar Jackson are under 25 so neither belongs on that list.
  4. You bring in Baker when you have a complete team except for qb and his good not great ability can get you in the playoffs. We aren't that. What would Baker realistically do for us? Two more wins and a worse draft pick and Corral less developed? Why?
  5. No. He is an upgrade over Joe Brady and was the moment he was hired.
  6. Darnold at least has some upside; Bridgewater is good for nothing but mediocrity. I would rather play Sam and get a good draft pick next year.
  7. I think our dline will be ok, but i am a glass half full person on this board. This article likes us too: Fantasy article but still....
  8. Bringing Cam back is moving in the wrong direction. He is a broken down relic that will do nothing but take snaps away from Darnold and Corral. It's time to figure out if we have a qb and move forward.
  9. There is no reason to give up draft picks or pay a lot of the salary of Mayfield or Garapalo. What's that going to do? Get us to six maybe seven wins and keep Corral on the bench? What's the point. At the very least, wait until they have to be cut. It's like we are playing chicken w/ Seattle right now.
  10. Over. We have a much improved Oline and CMC is likely to make it past 7 games this year. Our schedule might be a tad more difficult (impossible to tell at this point) but we get ATL x 2 again.
  11. I think Darnold is a lot cause, but he's only been with the Jets and the Panthers and both teams get an F for giving him what he needs to succeed.
  12. Artificial turf is also much hotter than grass. Tepper is an ahole. Turf is hot as hell
  13. I doubt he ranks Corral at all. Pickett is ranked only because he is the likely starter from day 1. Hell, we could be starting Baker Mayfield on day 1 for all we know. Don't forget there was a lot of Darnold hype through three games last year. I remember Rich Eisen tearing the Jets a new one for failing Darnold and then watching him do well at Carolina. Turned out to be wrong in the long run, but we had a nice little start.
  14. I would think this would be a plus considering everyone's view of Rhule. Also Rhule hired Brady: “When I took the job, I just decided to be bold and step outside my comfort zone—someone that I knew, and went in a different direction with Joe,” said Rhule, who brought Brady aboard in early 2020 after his nationally acclaimed success at Louisiana State University.

  16. He may be but his radio show w/ Simms is head and shoulders above a lot of the NFL shows (especially those on NFL network tv) because it's coherent and detailed. The idiots on tv are almost impossible to watch. It's locker room grab ass fun time, which is ironic because they always have at least one completely clueless but partially chick on the show.
  17. I meant if they failed next year. I give them both a pass on this first year.
  18. Tremble failing to improve in passing game means we screwed up getting rid of Dan Arnold. T Marshall needs to step up in new offense or we will have to use a draft pick for wr. Those two guys don't make it and we are looking at a lot of needs in next year's draft w/ our third round pick gone.
  19. So who won the Dan Arnold CJ Henderson trade? Darnold to Arnold was working fairly well before we made the trade.
  20. He's a college junior that ran an RPO offense. He is simply not ready to be thrust in an NFL game day 1.
  21. I think this was staged. How convenient someone just happened to film that and know who he was. I think his agent wanted to generate a feel good story in the media to bolster his stock and have some idiot team like the Panthers reach for him. Thank goodness we didn't fall for it. He may be a nice person, and I could be wrong about the photo op, but he is not an NFL qb.
  22. The more i look at next year's qb's, the happier i am we grabbed Corral late in the third. Sure Young and Stroud look like stud qb's, but they wouldn't be on the board for us. After that it drops off pretty steep. That could change of course, but there is no guarantee that 2023 draft is the qb haul everyone is expecting. Taking a qb this year gets us a year head start on development too.
  23. Arkansas figured out Matt Corral during the 2020 season by dropping 8 into coverage and forcing a ton of int's. That defensive scheme followed Corral into the 2021 season, but he learned to be more patient, quit throwing longer passes into double coverage, and use his check down or run for yardage. His int's went down drastically because he listened to his coaches and had discipline. NFL defenses won't take away the pass and dare us to run like college defenses did to Corral. That line and rb's will see to that. Here is an article about d's dropping 8 on Corral: 247 Sports
  24. Sharp Football Analysis I agree with this in the sense that I doubt we get a shot at the first three qb's off the board with where we pick. Makes more sense to address a real need with our no. 1.
