Tepper is supposed to have a press conference at 345pm
Evil Hurney replied to raleigh-panther's topic in Carolina Panthers
I agree. Unlike a typical RB CMC catches and run routes like a WR. How much would Cooper Kupp fetch in a trade? Deebo? CMC is 3 years younger than Kupp and the same age as Deebo. -

Reasons for firing from the presser: Lack of success, no upward trajectory (wins and expected wins) Losing the home stadium to opponent (fan support) Lack of effort/intensity on the field this week (player buy-in) -

Definitely. He pushed back hard on that reporter. Basically daring him to ask the actual question ... "Are you the problem?" ... instead of beating around the bush -

I do sense that Fit isn't safe as well. It could also be holding on to a bargaining chip for a future HC ... letting them pick their GM. -

Newton is so bad at his job. The disgust on faces when he asks a question is universal. -

Media wanted a "tipping point" moment to write about. Tepper didn't want to give them one. -
Yes, but I don't know if the 'Aints will trade him to a division rival ... or if we should be spending our already limited draft capital on a HC.

Defense was playing well. Have to think this is by choice.
-
Just imagine if the NFL protected Cam like they do Brady. Cam would be in the prime of his career right now ... sigh
-
The team decides when a player comes off of IR. This might be the 5-week type of high ankle sprain
-
I'd want to see it at least once as well. I'm not expecting miracles.
-
Expected. No way was the team going to pay a 4th rounder for a lost season of Baker Mayfield.
-
I'd prefer to keep most of the roster in-tact. It's largely talented and cheap. Robbie, Shaq, CMC are your big ticket items that I'd entertain trades for. Guys on expiring contracts can also go for the right price (e.g. Erving, Bozeman, Elflein) I also strongly suspect that the team will find a way to sit Baker so they don't have to pay the 4th round escalator.
-
There are several downsides: Wasted cap space/rollover Further tarnish Cam's legacy by not putting him in a position to succeed
-
The writing was on the wall for him to be let go this season. I am slightly surprised it was this early into the season. I hope Rhule finds success at his next stop. I think he will.

This team is a QB away from regular playoff appearances. The defense is ready. The O-line is good enough. The rushing attack is one of the better ones in the league.
-
Right now this offense is producing outputs (run/pass ratio, expected points per run/pass, turnover rate, penalty rate) most similar to the 2021 Cleveland Browns ... I doubt they are the same schematically though; we know they use different terminology.

I see what you did there

I'm not sure the intended outcome of this thread. Do Huddlers want actual optimism or is this a means to drive traffic via bickering and name-calling? I'll assume the former. Reasons for optimism: Defense is still good Redzone defense seems to be improved; a focus from the offseason Tackling and run defense, a point of emphasis from week 1, seemed to have been remedied in week 2 Interior OL holding up well vs the pass rush; Icky is taking his lumps but should get better as the season goes along. Baker seems like an improvement at QB. When he gets time the offense looks decent. Fumbled snaps (an issue from week 1) seem to have been resolved in week 2 The team has had the lead in the 4th quarter of both games; they are competitive but need to finish In-game decision making (via the HC) seems decent I liked the "jump the snap" penalty on Ioannidis. Better odds of getting the ball back from 1st and 10 vs 2nd and 4. This team will go as far as the offense will take it. The defense is good enough. The hope is that the offense will grow in comfort and execution over the course of the season; I realize the schedule is daunting and the record is already in a 2 game hole.

Does 0-2 put Rhule’s seat red hot?
Evil Hurney replied to Panthers Fan 69's topic in Carolina Panthers
Absent some Gruden type emails, the "RED HOT" phase where a firing is imminent won't happen until the team has been eliminated from the playoffs. More than likely Rhule is coaching the entire season regardless. -
I don't particularly think Baker is over organized. But maybe that's just me. /s

Would you be pleased if we hired Byron Leftwich??
Evil Hurney replied to micnificent28's topic in Carolina Panthers
Do not want. He is benefiting immensely from having the GOAT. It feels a lot like Gase "coaching" Manning to me. -
OverTheCap is predicting we don't

I like it. A practice squad QB with upside. I wonder if Fitterer reach out to anyone with Seattle before bringing the kid in.
