Matt Rhule is a C U Next Time insecure man
Bear Hands replied to TheBigKat's topic in Carolina Panthers
The opponent warmup strut is a new one for a 6-5 squad. Husker fans aren't too happy with this one. This is his 3rd year..15-21 overall. Technically bowl eligible but we'll see if they even land one. *Waiting for the "y'all are so salty, get over Rhule comments" -
That ending was brutal. Was in a Bears house for Thanksgiving here in Glenview so it hit at another level lol

They all have pretty big warts. I don't think any would have been taken ahead of Verse, Latu or Turner last year. Carter was an offball linebacker not long ago, but you're not getting a Parsons every time this type of prospect comes along. I find the other hybrid offball/edge in Walker just as interesting, although he weighs a tad more heavily on the offball side. Pure edge, I like the kid from BC - Ezeriuaku. He' probably my favorite for us in this draft come Round 2. I could see him as a riser through the draft process.

An Early Look at the 2024 Draft Steals/Best Picks

If anything, these were many of the guys we liked per reports so it does speak to Morgan’s taste/having a decent nose for some talent. -
An Early Look at the 2024 Draft Steals/Best Picks

Just an article. -
Link at the bottom from The 33rd Team. Interesting to see a lot of the guys that were floated as choices for us (Ladd, Frazier, DeJean, & Sainristil) Some excerpts: https://www.the33rdteam.com/ranking-the-14-biggest-steals-from-2024-nfl-draft/

Per PFF (take it for what it’s worth) he’s graded out at 60.1 in run defense, 67.4 tackling grade. His pass rush is high 50s. Slightly above his work last year. Best games were against the Bengals and Giants. For context, their grade scale is 50-below average, 60-average, 70-above average, 80-league wide top 10%, 90+ elite. He doesn’t seem to be performing that well eye test wise, should be able to find an upgrade.

The last game was such a contrast to everything else that this needs to be built on before making any declarations. Next thing up is to see how this week unfolds. One week at a time.

Yeah if we were spiraling I would consider a different strategy but extending seems appropriate if we can work something out. He is north of 30 so could be wise to start eyeing the draft even if we extend. Don’t let a strength turn into a weakness, keep making it stronger.

With Wonnum cemented in the rotation and Barno near return, we're almost near the EDGE room Morgan intended on for the season w/Clowney, Wonnum, DJJ, & Amare. Harris was an expendable midseason pickup. And this waiver pickup from Minny looks interesting. Good competition for the other back of roster guys.

Karlaftis and Danna have been pretty inconsistent so teams have been doubling Jones and able to contain their pass rush. But the good thing is that yesterday, we schemed well against Steve Spags Defense, Canales married the surrounding personnel with his QB through play designs within his comfort zone and was able to get downfield at will. He was able to execute higher difficulty throws and look a lot more comfortable. It tells me that Canales has a good system in mind, and had an edge gameplanning wise against Spagnuolo - which is nice to see. It's a bit to see-saw at times with either going way too pass heavy or way too run heavy, but I think he's finding out what works. It takes time to have it come together, and sure, I could see regression happen against a better front-7, but this was good for the entire system gelling.

Yeah Giants and Raiders have the inside tracks for 1-2. Think we're at highest, pick 3. The talent with you get with McMillan, Hunter, Graham, etc. far outweighs QBs. This QB class gives me the ick.

Solid and fair assessment. I will say, one of the big things I noticed yesterday was that he wasn't shy to step up into the pocket in the face of pressure. He's trusting the IOL. And they took care of Chris Jones yesterday. We had clean pockets but also good success rate vs. pressure which just hasn't been the case with Bryce. If he has more confidence the OL gets it done and he can navigate and step up for throws, that's huge. It's one of the biggest things that's held him back. He was previously bailing quickly and just too easily throwing away or making dead plays. 11/14 155 yards and a TD vs. the blitz He was finding his 2nd to 3rd reads within structure/without bailing in the pocket. That was nice to see, as much concern I have with him. And the overall limitations will always be there. Time to back it up this week against the Bucs.

Yeah, we could still very well end up 4-13 with the 2nd pick. I think LVR has the inside track for 1, with only a JAX team as a team on docket that could be beatable.
-
I think the Bucs and Eagles take care of us but we turn around and beat the Cowboys. ATL and/or AZ could be wins depending on which version of them you get. TB knows Canales’ offense, and Coen has been calling great games. I have a hard time seeing us beat them this season. 4-13 floor 6-11 ceiling, would be surprised to see 7-10

Super. Means he's out and abooot
-
Bryce did look a lot different today. Not afraid to step up and navigate while moving forward in the pocket. He hasn’t been doing that- huge improvement IMO. Time to back it up next week
-
IDC if people think the 10-1 defending champs are playing soft so far this year. These guys look bought in and played hard today. Tough loss but they played great. (Mostly - we had some bad apple plays)
-
Alright alright alright. Time for a Tremble 70 yard TD lol
-
Let's get a stop here. We've got a chance now.
-
He's like a Trey Burton. Do we NEED to retain him? No. But he's made things happen at times. Meh.
-
Time for this defense to make something happen if they want to stay in this. Can't believe we're in this game right now.
-
He's been fine in his role the past few years. Has had nice TDs, good moments, but he can't have games like today. He's set us back a bit today.
-
I've liked Tremble, has had nice moments as a TE2, but this is not a good day for the guy. Yikes.

Okay, David Moore is having himself a random as hell day. There we are.
