  1. IMO, Carson Palmer was better than average. 14 seasons almost 50k passing and 300 TDs. By far better than average
  2. Can definitely see Luvu take on a variety of roles. In the 3-4 the ILB blitz a lot that's why you see people prefer size at 3-4 ILB versus a 4-3 MLB who you want to patrol the middle of the field. Luvu may be a bit undersized but that hasn't stopped him from making plays near the LoS and in the backfield. I can definitely see him moved around a lot, same with Chinn. We have a lot of versatility on defense between those 2 players alone. I could see their uses differ from week to week depending on who our opponent is and their tendencies
  3. Just have to remain patient. We may not see what our completed roster looks like come TC and roster cut time. We could always wait and trade for a WR sometime this summer before the season begins as well. Our coaching staff isn't going to panic they are going to wait and get the right guy just have to continue to trust that they know what they're doing. They've done an amazing job so far.
  4. They also don't have 5 300+ lb lineman blocking for them either. A QB on avg takes far less of a beating than any other position other than P/K in the NFL. And very rarely does a defender get a full on freak shot at the QB. QBs don't get hit in OTAs or Training Camp either. Saying a 200 LB QB can't succeed in the NFL but guys who weigh less and play a more physical position can is just an absurd thought process to me. We have guys playing QB that are well into their late 30s I'm sure Bryce Young will fair just fine.
  5. Brees played at about 205 pounds. How is that not a similar build when it comes to "stockiness" and being able to hold up in the NFL? Corners weigh less, WRs weigh less and you could argue they take more of a pounding than a QB standing in the pocket does yet they are able to hold up in the NFL. Tbh your argument doesn't hold much weight no pun intended.
  6. Damiere Byrd and N'Keal Harry were his starting receivers with a bunch of JAGs at TE. How is Cam supposed to throw for 300 yards a game? The Patriots offense wasn't built to be a passing offense it was a run first offense because they had no weapons and a QB who only had 5 weeks to prepare for their first game. Cam put up 3300 yards and 21 TDs in that offense which is on par with what Mac Jones has been doing since he took over. And they brought in several skill position players since then. Please stop spreading your uneducated opinion around we've got enough people like you on this message board
  7. Good luck Cam. I think he's got more left in the tank than a lot of people believe and that's OK. Everyone wants to write him off because of the covid year he had in NE (No wrs or TEs Damiere Byrd was their #1 wr that season) and the few games he played for the Panthers in 2021 with no real practice or offseason. Realistically no QB was going to thrive in those situations and that was and is still the issue with Cam. He hasn't had an ideal spot to show he can still play at a high level and the chances of him finding that spot are incredibly low. But there's still a chance.
  8. Thielen is not only a great add for our new young QB but our young WRs as well. Hopefully he can help mentor TMJ and help him take that next step
  9. Chinn could be used in Big Nickle packages where you see teams run 3 Safeties. We won't be in a 3-4 base very often except for maybe 1st and some 2nd downs
  10. Except Moore has never had a Qb, coach, or offensive system that is/was as good as the other players you just mentioned
  11. Still wouldn't mind trading Burns if the compensation is right. I think he could be a great player in this defense, much better than he has been previously there is definitely potential however he will be cashing in on a $100+ million deal and we've seen multiple times that players don't live up to that potential after signing those massive deals. Hopefully Burns will continue to work hard at being an elite player even after he gets his massive contract.
  12. To be fair we haven't had a lot of coaches that were good at developing young talent
  13. I really think Shenault can be a solid player for us. Around 700-800 yards 5+ TDs he's a monster with the ball in his hands. We add one or two guys in FA draft one earlyish and draft or sign a TE we are good for this year. Next year we can look at adding a big time playmaker and retool the defense.
  14. In what years would the 1st rd picks be due? Could we say hold onto this years #9 and give up the '24 and '25 1st rounders? Probably not right?
  15. Maybe top 10 in yards given up by penalty other than that....top 10 at what?
  16. Don't we still have Xavier Woods signed for 2 more years? I didn't notice him much how good/bad was he?
  17. I hate to say this because he's had success in this league, but if you want to watch a presser that gives you vibes of our old coaching staff check out Eric Bienemy's WSH Introductory Press Conference. With that being said I'm super excited about this staff and I am really glad to see Tepper being as committed as he is to putting a winning product on the field. Unfortunately his first HC hire did not go as planned and I think we can all give him a mulligan on that if this regime ends up working out. I really hope that it does
  18. Rams released Wagner. I think he'd be a pretty good signing if the money was right
  19. Yea but unfortunately just that one pass doesn't average out very well over the course of a 17 game season
  20. That's going to happen when you have XFL Qbs throwing you passes. See: 2010 Steve Smith
  21. I'm definitely interested in seeing how Burns does in a 3-4 versus a 4-3 if that's what we end up doing. If we don't get a good offer (1st rd + some) I'd hold onto him
  22. Same here OP!!! There isn't a better group, I could think of, to share my misery, grief, and disappointment with year after year than you fine people of The Carolina Huddle. Been going strong since 2010.
  23. Bears oline is actually vastly underrated. It's one of the better units in the NFL
  24. He only threw the ball 318 times and had 60% completion and 7.0 YPP. You aren't going for 3500+ yards 20+ TDs throwing the ball 318 times with his supporting cast on offense. He's not as bad of a thrower as a lot of you guys are making him out to be.
