  1. Paying big money to a guy who has never played a full 16 games or even 15 games in his 9 year NFL career (and only 8 games last year), while playing one of the most physical positions in football would be an absolute disaster. I'm sure Rhule would do it though
  2. I'd like to see Cam get a legitimate shot with a full offseason of work with an offense/playbook before the season starts. He hasn't been able to do that since 2019. Playing Qb isn't like playing DE or any other position for that matter. It's hard to jump into a starting role when everyone is a full offseason + 1/2 a season ahead of you. It'd be different if Cam was on the roster to begin the season and then came in for those 5 games and played bad, but the guy legit got off the couch to try and win games to save a struggling team and Rhule's ass. But with that last point, that's the one reason I wouldn't want him to come back. I really don't want to see this team competitive next year because that means we are likely stuck with Rhule until the end of his contract
  3. Would you trust Rhule and a lower tier outcast of college coaches to build around you? Or better yet when has the Carolina Panthers ever shown it was willing to build around their Franchise Qb? Deshaun made the right choice imo as sad as that is.
  4. I'm pretty sure Rhule won't need to throw games with the way he coaches he's perfectly capable of coaching us to that #1 overall pick without changing much of anything
  5. Exactly. So what is the point in trying to win this season? A winning season probably buys Rhule another year. We should be playing for the No. 1 overall pick in next year's draft
  6. Need to go as young as possible this year and play for the No.1 Overall pick in next year's draft. Sign the least amount of FA possible and play the young guys. Let Darnold play us into that No.1 overall slot then we fire Rhule and go into next year with a new HC, No.1 overall pick, and lots of cap space. No point in trying to win this season to save Rhule's job what would be the point in that?
  7. None. We don't need any other Qb to come in here and win games for Rhule and Co. This year will be another lost season (like every season will be under Tepper's guidance), but the best thing to do is to go as young as possible this next season, allow Darnold to keep shitting the bed for $18 million while playing the young guys and look to next season with a new HC, high draft picks (Good chance we're in the running for No. 1 Overall), and cap space to try and turn this poo show around. That is honestly our best chance to become a winning team under Tepper. If he keeps Rhule after this season we will be on the cusp of 10 losing seasons in a row.
  8. I can barely stand to read but a few posts a week on this board lately let a lone 194 pages. For anyone who has I congratulate you on lowering your IQ, that is one hell of an effort.
  9. Sheeeeeesh. Why in the hell is this 191 pages, lol. You guys are something special. You do realize that on the 1% chance Watson comes here we will continue to be a terrible football team while Tepper is still the owner, you guys understand that right? It starts at the top. No shortcuts
  10. Bengals have used tag on safety Jessie Bates https://www.nfl.com/news/jessie-bates-bengals-place-franchise-tag-on-safety
  11. If he signs a massive deal with another team we'll get a 3rd round Comp. pick? Not that we'll use it towards a good player but it's the thought that counts right?
  12. That was hard to watch, just like every single Panthers game for the last 3 years
  13. Part of me says yes absolutely, and the other part of me is saying No Thanks!! The writing is on the wall for Matt Rhule, it was before he even stepped foot inside BoA Stadium. The last thing I'd want is for us to sign Cam and he have a stellar season that gets us to the playoffs and then we retain Rhule for several more years. Or Cam comes here and the team falls flat, again. I'm not sure either scenario would be good for the team until Matt Rhule is no longer coaching it
  14. Damiere Byrd was his #1 WR don't forget to include that and I'll let you go ahead and look up the unknowns he had at TE. Damiere Byrd, N' Keal Harry, and the unknown TE group. Sounds like a recipe for success in the passing game yea? Lets not forget NE had the most covid opt outs of any team that year. Cam had 5 weeks to learn the system and his teammates in New England of all places, and also got Covid week 4. Still put up better numbers and got more wins than any other quarter back we've tried to replace him with
  15. Probably one of the absolute worst people we could have hired other than the Woman's tennis coach at Baylor. Championship.
  16. Cam had 3300 yards and 21 Tds for an offense that had less talent than a HS team in a covid year and still won more games than this trash team the last 2 years you should be praying we have that kind of success next year at the qb position
  17. "Carson Wentz completed 388-of-607 passes for 4,039 yards with 27 touchdowns and seven interceptions for a 93.1 passer rating." Lol could you imagine Darnold throwing the ball 607 times especially behind this oline? Big Yikes. But this guy is probably the more intriguing hire and probably has the best resume out of everyone else interviewed so far
  18. Without an actual offseason and solid talent around him we don't even have a chance to see. If he had a legit opportunity and he played poorly I'd agree. You can't play NFL Quarterback and learn your offense on the fly. That will never correlate to success.
  19. Lol. Do you guys even think before posting crap like this? Cam had Damiere Byrd as his #1 wr in NE. Who were NEs TEs again last year? Sure as fug wasn't Smith and Henry. NE also had the most covid opt outs of any team in 2020. They then spent the most money in FA in the HISTORY OF NE PATRIOTS IN 2021. Again do you people think? Do you even know anything about football? Cam had 3300 yards and 21 TDs for that team that would have won all but 3 games without him. Mac Jones had 3800 yards and 23 Tds with more weapons and 2 more games played AND A FULL OFFSEASON TO LEARN HIS TEAMMATES AND PLAYBOOK. CAM NEWTON HAD 5 WEEKS to learn the playbook IN NEW ENGLAND which is going to be about 5x harder than learning a Matt Rhule or Mike Shula playbook. Do some research or fug off with your low iq opinion, thanks!
  20. Posts like this make me laugh. You want to prove Cam is no longer a starting QB in the NFL and THAT is the stat you use? That is the most irrelevant stat you could have used LOL. I seriously wonder how some of you have made it this far in life. The average intelligence of this board is so astoundingly low and it all starts with posts like this. The Carolina Panthers have not had a winning record in 4 seasons btw. With or without Cam Newton so to say it's all Cam's fault has to be one of the dumbest things I've read this early into the offseason. Way to go on that achievement bud
