Because no one has ever wanted to play there. Now that they have a young qb to build around who knows.

Brian Hartline and Chris Canty to be released
Mr Mojo Risin replied to Mr Mojo Risin's topic in Carolina Panthers
Lol you guys love putting words in people's mouths. Wow!!! Is the only one in here that was trying to argue that a 40 yard dash time is the end all be all when judging someones speed I never wanted Hartline to be the only receiver we brought in but if you guys are okay with guys like cotchery on the roster then Hartline is 10 times better than what he is because he actually has some speed and can get separation from DBs UNLIKE Cotchery. I would like for us to get a better receiver hopefully in the draft but that is not always possible so if we were to bring in a lower level free agent Hartline would most definitely be my pick i dont want him to be our number 2 wide receiver going into the season but if he was signed today he would be the 2nd best receiver on our roster and that isn't debatable. -
Panthers Final Decision On Hardy : No Thanks

Not shocked but that is pretty fuging stupid not to even make an attempt. Players of Greg's caliber don't just grow on trees. -

Ok...lol now this has me scratching my head. Whoever said Hartline was the same type of receiver Wallace is? Why do you think there are only two types of speed, fast and slow? A Wr doesn't have to run a 4.3 or 4.4 to be considered fast Hartline is not a burner but he has good enough speed and is faster than guys like Wes Welker or even his teammate Jarvis Landry. Idk how else to explain it to you. Now there's evidence he runs a 4.4 I only looked at his combine which was a 4.5. Think about it you are trying to judge a player based on looking at how fast he runs in a straight line instead of noticing he has over 2500 receiving yards in the last 3 seasons. -

Only way I'd bring in Hartline is if we get rid of Cotchery and Bersin. -

Works out for teams like ours though where our 2nd best wr is jerricho fuging cotchery. Thats why I wouldn't mind a guy like Hartline cheap and he's 10x better than what we have. -

Mr Mojo Risin replied to Mr Mojo Risin's topic in Carolina Panthers
Lol he is by no means a burner but a 4.58 40 is not slow in the slightest. He is also more quick than he is fast he is not a true #1 wr that is why he does not continuosly get 1k yard seasons but he is a solid #2-3 and is an instant upgrade over every wr we have now outside of KB. He also isn't going to command over 2-3 mill a year in salary I wouldn't think especially with how flooded the market is. Bottom line is I'm not saying Hartline is the best option out there all I'm saying is he is a solid option to consider because he's relatively young, has decent speed, has had recent success, is an upgrade over what we have, and won't command a huge salary or prevent us from picking up another wr or two. I don't know how you could dislike it if we did sign him. -

I think it's very possible we could sign Hartline and I'd be thrilled. He has reliable hands and can get good separation I'll be shocked if Gettles doesn't at least inquire about him. Canty is on the down side of his career and has played mostly in 3-4s lately but he has also played in 4-3s earlier in his career we may not go after him but as a veteran coming off the bench he is not a bad option. -

Exactly. I still think Hartline can be productive enough for us and Canty is someone whom I've wanted.since before we drafted Star. Both of them fall into the area of FAs we'll be looking at. -

Mr Mojo Risin replied to Mr Mojo Risin's topic in Carolina Panthers
Hartline is only 28 and would easily be our 2nd best Wr. I know the market is flooded with veteran wrs but I really like Hartline. He's a lot faster than people give him credit for and he can consistently get separation from DBs. He would definitely be an upgrade over Cotch and Philly plus we won't have to break the bank for him. -
http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000000474584/article/ravens-terminate-contract-of-de-chris-canty Chris Canty could be a solid part of our rotation, but he may end up retiring Hartline will also be released after back to back 1000 yard seasons in 2012 and 2013 but he only had 400 yards last season. http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000000474565/article/miami-dolphins-cut-wide-receiver-brian-hartline I wouldn't mind either signing and I'd think both would be good depth and relatively cheap. Thoughts?

If he chooses Cleveland over us he's a fugging idiot. Dude must not want to play WR very badly.
