He never would have agreed to more years. The whole point of a 1 year prove it deal is just that, and he proved it. So we can either resign or let walk.

I still think Linderbaum is worth it.. I would rather take a sure thing at 6 than the 3rd best tackle. If we could trade back and land him even better but at this point we must upgrade the line and with Linderbaum there is no projection on him.

This was always a good trade for us. We had the cap, and we bet that we would get a better pick than what we traded for him. Thats 3D level chess what Fitt did. Lets all stop bitching. Think what you want about Rhule but Fitt is the next generation of GM's.

What it would take to trade for him aside... I like the player. Cousins would be an instant upgrade at that position and would help maximize our WR core. He also knows how to play under duress. He is probably the best option of a starting QB heading into the season.

I dont come to this forum to try to dunk on people or score internet points. Point I was making is thats its easy for people to now say "I told you he was crap" when the reality is none of us have any decision making ability with the team and he was a top candidate at the time. Seems like so many people here just wait for the team to fail so they can say 'i told you so'

Dude hes not. He would have left already if he wanted out. Tepper would have fired him already is he wanted him gone. Rhule will be here next year and even if he sucks hes not getting fired till at least October.

Rhule is not leaving ... just stop. We dont need to post every college job opening.

You might not like the hire but Rhule was one of the top coaching candidates that hiring cycle. At the time we were all thrilled to get him.

Honestly, I think that we should trade for next years picks... Trade our 1st for a 2nd and a 2023 1st. We will be in the QB market NEXT year so lets make sure we have the assets to make sure we can get one next year.

I actually think that he left most of the evaluation to his coordinators... I might be wrong but it seems like he has a mostly hands off approach, trusting his people. I could be wrong there but thats what Ive gathers from the interviews.

I would disagree with that. And I should make myself clear here. I respect your opinion, your a good contributor on this forum - one of the less reactive ones which i appreciate. Honestly I dont think the QB's were the biggest problem I think it was the teams expectations that were the problem and put them in these situations. Teddy was brought in to be a bridge and was released because he could not take us the the next level. Darnold was brought in on a 'moderate risk, high reward'. He didnt pan out this year. Im ok with both of those moves at QB. When you dont have a guy I think you need to do everything possible to find that guy. I think the biggest issue is Rhules expectation went from 'team building' to 'win now'. I think that changed the focus of the team, and not for the better. I used to think maybe it was Tepper that forced that on him but given that Rhule was not fired I dont think thats the case.
