  1. yeah and if it is we will likely have a top 5 pick with arguable the best FO working the system.
  2. I totally agree. The safer play would have been to keep Teddy and hope he improved. But he never seemed like a QB you could truly build around. Darnold is a high risk high reward. He could be terrible and if so we pick very high next year. BUT if he hits he could be the type of player you build around. IF he hits Joe Brady is the hottest coaching candidate on the market next year. If he doesn't well Tepper signed off on this move so we keep looking but our coaching staff is still stable. Some people might say it costs too much but we were not going to use that money on any other position that was more impactful to the team this year. IMO this was such a good gamble no matter how it turns out.
  3. Im very excited about the leadership and direction of this team
  4. Im trying to think about who is our biggest rival and I think that changes through the years... In our prime, around the 2015 team I would have said that Seattle would have been our biggest rival team. The Cam vs Russel and Luke vs Wagner. But I feel like that has fizzed out. The last 2 years I could maybe see that being the Saints (cause fugg'em Saints).. or even the Bills/WTF with all the Carolina connections. This year... Im not sure who feels like the biggest rivalry game. Who do you guys 'feel' it is?
  5. ...I was not trying to make a definitive statement..
  6. Your not wrong about this being basically the same as last season in terms of trying to salvage a broken QB. Its boom or bust and we busted last season. I get frustrated with people that post here that are overly critical... its the friggen offseason in Pandemic Season 2 here.. lets try to look at the upside...
  7. I agree he was a high upside low downside QB. I think the biggest reason people arer upset are for 2 things that are not his fault. 1. He was the QB following Cam. 2. He got paid more than what people felt he should have. The team threw a dart on him and it didn't work. Its the same situation we are in this year with Darnold. Taking flyers on high upside QB's is always worth it.
  8. To be fair to Teddy he never lost us games.... he just never won them either..
  9. I still think of the waive of emotions watching the Arizona game when TD broke his arm...
  10. I still remember the 2008 game vs the Bucks. Where we racked up 300 yards rushing.. I was watching that game with my buddy who is a Bucks fan and it was the best time.. it birthed one of the best stiff arms ever..
  11. A twist on the JAG's post.. Obviously the SB years will be top moments for people but what are some of your favorite/most impactful memories you have as your time as a panther fan?
  12. Your posts on this site are painful. You must get off on this kind of stuff...
  13. I forgot about Nick Goings (great pick guys) He was a dude buried in a loaded RB depth chart that only ever produced.
  14. I agree. I considered him in my JAG list but I mean he was a starting QB in the NFL so IMO that disqualified him. But I loved his 'averageness' of him. He was always the QB you wanted to upgrade but good enough to make some plays.
  15. I got 3... Brad Hooooooooooover... nuff said. But his in your face, smash mouth football was fun to watch. Probably why Im so excited about Tremble James Anderson (LB): I always appreciate his play. He was always over shadowed on the depth chart with Beason, TD and Conner but I thought he played very well. Kris Magnum (TE): Never had a major roll but I always thought he played hard and contributed to the run game.
  16. Put aside draft status, who was your favorite all time NON SUPER STAR players?
  17. After staring at Pitts all draft season Ian looks like an o-lineman
  18. ... other than the fact that DJ had to stop running.. I do like that we have a clear leader there now and that allows guys to try to grow with Sam.
  19. Its called optimism. IF Sam works out, this is a HUGE win for us.
  20. The biggest issue that I had with Teddy is not his stats, he had basically 3, 1000 yard receivers, but that he just was not aggressive enough. I hate giving player demeaning nicknames but Teddy 'Check down' is 100% accurate. I dont really know what another year here would have solved. He was an accurate passer and ran the offense effectively but he didn't have that 'it' that won games. I think that with his skill set Teddy could have a very good and long career as a high end back up .. if he chooses to.
