Yeah he has shown zero ability to be an NFL QB 1st team, 2nd team, whatever. I want to say it is way worse even, than I imagined, but I could never see him as some kind of high draft pick. I may have begrudgingly accepted him at 9, on the chance that I was wrong. Begrudgingly. I accepted Reich sort of begrudgingly, too, but I wasn't sold on the 'we have to have the hot play caller' to start with. With Canales, looks like maybe I was wrong about the play caller, though we didn't get a hot one. Want to be wrong.

It wasn't the the W-L with Dalton in Seattle. It was the point his presence on the field made. That point proved what we had seen the first two games and would see the remainder of the year. He can run an NFL offense, has the arm to do it and it looks like what we expect to see. The fact that it wasn't a great offense and that was getting hit with all those drop backs, was not important because as we have seen this year, that can be improved. And you put that with an NFL QB and look what you get. It was plain. Yet we had to suffer all season with garbage QB play, because people imagined things, to be honest about it. Bryce will never make the throws Dalton can. Which means, he can't make (enough of the) NFL throws. I swear I swear I swear....

Jordan Fuller to IR (hamstring), Demani Richardson to the main roster
strato replied to Icege's topic in Carolina Panthers
Okay. Is this IR nowadays a thing where you come off or is that season over? -
He for sure needed (and needs) help over there. That was hard to understand. It didn't change with the new head coach either. I was ready to move him inside but we went out and bought guards.

I'm gonna hold off hoping anything for a guy in the NFC that we have to play later this year. And in the future. He does look good, I'm hoping he looks like poo whenever that game is.

Drew Brees again. Even if he was a comp which he isn't (MUCH smaller and 2 inches shorter) when did Drew Brees ever look like that? And he never struggled half that much. The only thing he can at do an NFL level might white board and standing around watching. Or preseason games where he's playing nobodies. You don't want on the field.

We're down to about 30 or less. Probably?
-
People leak trade offers to drum up trade offers. Maybe saying no we believe in him, is the same game. Get a better trade offer.
-
He doesn't need to dress. Emergency guy. Because when he comes in, it will be a fuging emergency. And true up there frank, I don't believe he belongs in the league and he isn't going to do much.

Yeah thanks. It's around 6.3 million 2025 and the same 2026, so all at once 12mil is close enough. I found this. It has a little tab that allows pre or post June 1 also. Looks pretty easy to read and seems t be correct: https://overthecap.com/player/bryce-young/10825

I know.... old. Just when I thought I was out... I argued over and over with people about Young's arm strength and velocity. I tried to give a good example of why he sucked more or less, with the baseball pitcher analogy of pitching under control vs raring back and giving it all you have. Basically the idea is that if you throw 99, throw 96 with better control and less effort, etc. I said Bryce had to throw 100% to get anything decent on the throw. Which kills your accuracy. Damned if i didn't stumble on a great example. Carr vs Mahomes velocity test: See the on targets from Mahomes, and the misses high? What's Bryce been doing on his deep balls? Missing long.

I probably don't. I am not schooled on OL technique past the HS level and I was LB/G. We played a 61 it was fun. I know that is his thing, the thing he does best and excelled at. And saw him do it in the league in 2022. And it was gone. Like the pass blocking screwed his run blocking up. I don't know. I just see.
-
Yeah you know what would happen if we put him in up 26? We wouldn't be up by 26 for very long.

Did a google and this was easy to find and has the info. I snipped the trade 'chapter'. ----------------- https://www.bhindthesteelcurtain.com/pittsburgh-steelers-nfl-features-news-blog-long-form/2016/3/5/11158958/nfl-101-how-cuts-retirements-and-trades-affect-the-salary-cap Trades Sometimes, players are traded away, and this affects the salary cap in much the same way as a cut or a retirement. The team from which a player is traded is no longer on the hook for unpaid salaries or future bonuses, but is still responsible for accounting for any bonuses that have already been paid. That may just be remaining, prorated signing bonus money, but it can also include things like a roster bonus that was paid at the beginning of the current league year. Again, this all depends heavily on when the player is traded. However, the big accounting difference in a trade is that, when a player is traded, the team is still getting something back in return for the player. Typically, this is one or more other players, so those players' salaries would then be counted against the acquiring team's salary cap. The incoming players' prorated bonuses, however, continue to stay with their previous team. ----------------- I think there could be a June 1 designation like with retirement didn't get that far.

So what's the dead cap money the next two years in a trade scenario?

The Panthers merchandise team would never...
strato replied to PanthersATL's topic in Carolina Panthers
Funny as heck but that's ought to end up in some 3rd would place they don't speak English like the 'oops we lost' World Series and Super Bowl champs shirts. Or maybe backwards on a thick female. -
Yeah, 2023 showed in week three. Here we are with the do over, the right way The problem was that Dalton would not have lasted with that OL. He is even less mobile. Bryce would have been right back in. How was Bryce worse in 2024 than 0, 0 to finish the year in 2023? I am going to say because in 2024 he got the protection to show it IS him. I believe he was actually better looking than any time ever outside of a few plays, in the Buffalo preseason series. Had his footwork squared away too. Look real good. For him, the best. Ball came out and flew much better. Failure sucks. And he has never failed. And he knows now that he will never be able to do what Dalton showed him on Sunday. Up close, with his team. It was the biggest night and day since Jake came in for Rodney his first game. Much wider gap. So, we’ll see what the future holds. He simply can’t make the throws consistenty at this level.
-
It would one way to see how true it is that we have ruined him. I'b thrilled at a second to be honest going by what I think people will offer.
-
Looking at his numbers, they aren't bad. They might get better here in the offensive environment we seem to have created. that money just to try it out? fug that. Money comes after proof.
-
I agree but Ickey should maul on request one on one without any thought about anything. He has his man, drive that man. We watched him do that. Then we didn't. I blame him for that. Well, better to say he is responsible for himself in a one on one road grading assignment. (and wasn't handling it. Or I didn't see his best)
-
Probably every one of them but just guessing on the bolded ones. Mile High scares me just because the air density factor. Plus the Venezuelan gangs might take over the team hotel.
-
They are saying that their road win over Baltimore is worth more than our road win over them. Which, no argument.
-
Never mind

It's over 40 million per year for Jones. We need to look for a better Daniel Jones that didn't earn the fat second deal, or a rookie deal washout that has the tools and is cheap. Like Bryce will be, but with actual tools outside of his head.
-
It's going to have to be. They can score. edit: seeing the Panthers O not miss a beat replacing AT, that would be real helpful. And cool.
