Deshaun Watson trade now as unlikely as ever...
LinvilleGorge replied to SizzleBuzz's topic in Carolina Panthers
IF his situation gets rectified. They're definitely taking a risk here. Without knowing exactly what teams were willing to offer currently it's impossible to gauge just how big of a risk. -

No one is giving the Texans even close to what they want given the massive black clouds hanging over Watson's head right now. They pretty much only have two choices - trade him for much less than they seem him to be worth or sit tight and hope the clouds pass. -
You know you're off the rails when you start posting Madden stats to support actual football opinions.
-
I mean, they've been making the worst possible decisions at QB for years now. I just hope we're not joining them down there in that rut.
-
I guess you didn't see what Brady's offense looked like at LSU. No offense calls for ignoring the open WR downfield to hit the checkdown.
-
Teddy is confirmed trash. Sam is probably trash too, but not confirmed yet.
-
We'll see in the regular season. He was a checkdown king in preseason similar to Teddy. Smitty called him out numerous times for taking a 6-8 yard completion instead of targeting an open WR downfield.

Can this guy really be "THE GUY" for the Aints

That's what we're banking on. I doubt it's gonna work out but here's to hoping. -
If You Were Looking for a New Panthers Shirt

Hell, I'd get the damn tattoo if he wins us a Lombardi. -
Odd how franchise greats are still talked about. Just absolutely baffling.

We were among the early leaders but we seem to have stalled out. Not sure where we currently stand. -

If we're talking about trends, we definitely don't want to look at yards and TDs. -

Brace yourself, but Winston's career INT% is 3.4 vs Darnold's 3.2. Over their careers they've been roughly equal at throwing INTs. Winston has averaged 0.6 fumbles per game to Darnold's 0.4. Turnover wise, they're very close. There's a huge gap in yardage and TDs though. -
I can't imagine having this much hatred for a long time player at the most important position in football for your supposed favorite team. Whatever coping strategies you used to survive those years, maybe apply them to survive reading posts from people who are still fans.

This is pretty much the truth. When you face him, you better he ready to put up points. He's probably going to, but he's going to give you 3-4 turnover opportunities too. If you don't capitalize on them you might be in for a bad day. -

Jameis has shown a lot more at the NFL level than Darnold has. I'd rather take a chance on a guy who has shown an ability to play at a high level and who needs to work on a turnover problem than a guy who basically has to learn how to play QB at the NFL level. -

I would've taken almost anyone over Teddy. The outcome of that experiment was painfully predictable. -

It comes down to whether or not he can cut down on the turnovers. The dude put up huge numbers in TB, it was just that the turnovers were part of the "huge numbers".- 87 replies

Does he have similar ability though? He hasn't taken a single regular season snap in the NFL yet. Plenty of highly drafted players expected to be future All-Pros bust or underperform. Moton is a proven commodity.

Their trashiness is known by all.

Well, I don't know what's going on but Burke County gas stations are running out left and right today.

Panthers waiver claims and practice squad signings
LinvilleGorge replied to Mr. Scot's topic in Carolina Panthers
Same. He was just there. He had to know he was in trouble when he played so much in the 2nd game when we were playing pretty much nothing but bubble guys. -

All coaches tend to show allegiance to guys they're familiar with, particularly early in their career. It's just that list coaches come from either prior NFL experience or powerhouse college experience. Having a large chunk of your roster comprised of Temple and Baylor players though... oh wee mayne. We're not exactly talking about Alabama and Clemson here. These are the same players Rhule couldn't beat ranked collegiate competition with, much less NFL competition.
