  1. This. Cam did very well in Charlotte. Mahomes is doing very well in KC. You don't have to be in a major market anymore. Hell, Baker Mayfield is in seemingly every commercial on TV these days and he's in fuging Cleveland.
  2. Why creat future guaranteed money though unless you need the space currently? It makes no sense unless you need it now.
  3. The Hurney restructure. We're planning to use this money on something. There's no reason to do this if we don't need the space this year.
  4. You missed the part about eating ass. That was a key component of the thread.
  5. Nah, he has a LOT better physical tools than Jones. He has every physical tool you're looking for, he just doesn't wow in any particular area physically. The biggest question mark on Lawrence is how is he going to look when his team isn't head and shoulders better than the competition, but that's a question about every QB coming out of a powerhouse program.
  6. We know, man. You're a huge Clemson fan. We get it. It's okay, but you really should stop talking about these things in absolutes. There are no absolutes in the draft. There are busts and steals every year.
  7. Believe it or not, these things aren't black or white. NFL teams absolutely consider floors.
  8. Pretty much. Don't get me wrong, he's VERY good. I just don't see any transcendent talent there. He checks every box but he doesn't wow in any particular area and in the games where his team wasn't head and shoulders better than the competition his team is 1-2.
  9. No. He's 7 years older. I actually think Wilson is the better QB currently, but not everyone is Tom Brady or Drew Brees. 32 is getting to that age that after another 2-3 years no one should be surprised if Wilson is on the decline.
  10. You're not listening. I'm not arguing he's not. But the biggest reason is his floor. It's hard to imagine him being an outright bust. Lawrence is the far safer prospect, but don't be shocked if Wilson doesn't end up being the better player... but he's also a lot more likely to be a flat out bust than Lawrence is. It's hilarious how emotional y'all get over this stuff.
  11. He had 83 INTs and 44 fumbles in 86 games. Everyone always just looked the other way on his turnover issues.
  12. I think he's basically Andrew Luck. He'll be very good, but never quite great but the media will still try to convince everyone he's the GOAT.
  13. I'm very high on him as a prospect but I've said over and over that Lawrence has the higher floor.
  14. I'll take the proven MVP caliber QB. Yes, even over the rookie contract.
  15. I'm just not sold on Lawrence being this super prospect. Yeah, he checks all the boxes but the vast majority of the time he's ever taken a field his team was head and shoulders better than the competition.
  16. It's year two unless Rhule was trying to get Tepper to fire Marty last year and it was Tepper's call to keep him. I just hope Tepper can learn and adapt because unfortunately you can't fire owners. Any Cowboys or WFT fan know this well.
  17. Yep. That's a huge x factor here. If you're sold on Wilson you're dumb to trade a huge haul for Watson. Just make the pick and keep all those other assets to keep building.
  18. But put yourself in their shoes. You want a defensive starter. I want Burns. If I can't get him, I want Brown or Chinn. That's the end of the list.
  19. Taking off my homer glasses, the Jets have some HUGE advantages. 1. They have the #2 overall pick. They can guarantee the Texans the #2 QB prospect in this draft (a.k.a. Zach Wilson) 2. They have Sam Darnold to potentially dangle if the Texans have any interest. He has a lot more upside than Teddy. 3. They have a second 1st round pick in this year's draft to offer where we would be limited to offering future 1sts beyond #8. 4. The Jets are reportedly his preferred destination and he has a no trade clause so he has to okay any trade before it can be finalized. Overall, I still think he's the Jets to lose but we're a live dog.
  20. I think anyone speaking in certainties on this situation is setting themselves up to look like a jackass in general, but honestly if I'm a betting man I'm betting he doesn't play another game for the Texans. I actually have a $20 bet with a buddy for exactly that. Back up y'all. Big baller coming through.
  21. Yeah, I can't at all vouch for the Twitter user. No clue. I still think our best shot is if the Texans would really prefer to ship him out of the AFC and Watson isn't trying to force his way to NY. Without that, I have to think the Jets are in the driver's seat here. They just have better potential trade bait.
