Yep. We've had mismatched tweener personnel as a team for years now. I honestly think we're a lot closer to fitting a 4-3 currently and it feels like the 3-4 switch might have been largely about maximizing Burns and he still looks the same.

Drake Maye is done for the day. Hampton and Tex Walker need to be done too. Get some other guys snaps.
-
Borderline top 10 pure pass rusher. Bottom third run defender.
-
Alright, at 42-7 it's time to start shifting the focus to getting non-starters some snaps for the Heels. I didn't like Campbell on the schedule but given our last two games it turned into a blessing. We desperately needed a get right game.

Honestly, I'm in the tag and trade camp.
-
I think we were reportedly offering him basically that. I think we were at 23-24 and they were at 27-28.
-
Yeah, I could too. I don't think he's a featured back in the NFL but he's versatile enough I could see him finding a role.
-
Yeah, I was very high on Burns but he just hasn't developed at all. Seems like no one we draft does.

Flags are on Rutgers. Pick six stands. What a dick punch. Rutgers was on the redzone.
-
Brutal. Rutgers just threw a pick six on a tipped ball. But there's flags...
-
He's a really damn good college player. I mean, there's Heisman winners who aren't NFL players. That obviously doesn't mean they weren't huge impact players in Saturday.
-
Oops. My bad.
-
What is his fair market value though? Because two of the more recent deals he's going to want to surpass went to guys of honestly take over him. Those guys being Crosby and Sweat. Those guys are complete players. Burns is a one trick pony. It's the trick that gets you paid but he quietly sucks against the run. He's good on pursuit but he's a liability when you run at him.
-
Just saw that OSU is only up 9-7 over Rutgers at half.
-
With the way we've been playing lately, I'll take up 28-7 at half all day. I honestly wouldn't have guaranteed a win today. Hell, I won't guarantee a win even being up 28-7. I've lost all confidence in this defense after the last two games.

This is where I'm at.

Looking more and more like a franchise tag showdown is looming... and that Scott Fitterer fugs up everything.
-
ND is always so comically overrated.
-
I'm surprised the Bears were buyers at the trade deadline but man... DJ Moore instead of Brian Burns plus a lot of picks and now they get their pass rusher too. I mean, if they're smart in the draft they are really setup to do some things moving forward. Hell, they can probably turn around and trade Fields for a 2nd or 3rd. Maybe to the Niners? Justin Fields in SF would be VERY interesting.
-
Don't be surprised if we have to win a shootout. Against Campbell. That's where our D has fallen to.
-
I can't stand Clemson but this is the truth.
-
I don't think he'll qualify for the extra year. That was a COVID thing.
-
I just know that it's a logjam at Texas at QB and that was clear when he committed.
-
That's why I'm so surprised Arch Manning ended up at Texas. There wasn't much of a path to him getting on the field immediately. Hell, I'm not sure if he'll be starting next year even if Ewers enters the draft.

Yeah, definitely the most intriguing matchup of the day IMO.
