  1. I honestly don't think Stroud is equally as good. If Young was Stroud's size there would be no debate about QB1. But the size is a huge concern now that we know he's likely significantly less than 204.
  2. I don't think anyone doubts that he can potentially thrive in the NFL. But for how long? If this guy gets broken in half in his second start the media dunking is gonna be ferocious.
  3. Whether it's subconscious or not, he probably has a bias toward supporting a guy getting knocked for a perceived lack of size.
  4. Not weighing in again today definitely shows that he manipulated his weight for the Combine and that his actual playing weight is less (possibly significantly less) than that 204 figure. He could've answered a LOT of those size speculations by hopping on the scale again today at 200+ and then going out there and performing well. That he didn't tells me he's nowhere near 204 right now.
  5. Honestly, it seems pretty obvious that Young bulked (fattened) up to step on the scale at 200+ at the Combine and that's probably why he lived in that hoody. Dude was probably rocking a gut and some man titties. Probably got up to close to 200 then tanked up with water to make sure he came in comfortably over. Then he slimmed back down for his pro day. If he was still 200+ he would've happily hopped back in a scale to prove it.
  6. Hell, I'd take my chances on a rookie over Desmond Ridder or Mac Jones.
  7. I saw where he declined to weigh in today. Virtually confirms my shenanigans theory on that combine weight. Dude looks like he's a buck 80 tops.
  8. Yep, no hesitation. I would do that deal in a heartbeat. Just be realistic. What are our odds of doing better with the #93 overall pick in the draft? Virtually zero. Getting a player of his caliber at our biggest position of need (after we take a QB #1 overall) with a late 3rd round pick would feel like stealing.
  9. Honestly, for a #1 overall pick we really are. The OL is good. We have a former QB, offensive minded HC. We've signed a good veteran RB. We've signed a solid vet receiving TE. Yeah, the WRs need work but overall this is a MUCH better situation than a #1 overall pick typically walks into.
  10. 4.7 to 4.8 sounds about right IMO For reference, Burrow ran a 4.7 and Mahomes ran a 4.8. It's plenty fast.
  11. Eastern Tennessee just overall has a trashier feel to it than western NC IMO. Ad yeah, I'm fully aware that this is like Danny DeVito calling someone else short.
  12. The tri cities area is definitely improving but still has a pretty methy vibe to it IMO. Chattanooga is a spot that seems like it's stuck in that jo man's land of being big enough to have big city problems but not big enough to offer big city amenities. Feels very haves and have nots to me but my Chattanooga experience is relatively limited so I might be off there.
  13. Yeah, the NW mountains were my primary stomping grounds growing up so that's "home" but I prefer the SW honestly and it's all about less crowds for me. The further west you go into NC the less crowds. The Asheville/Brevard and Boone/Blowing Rock areas are just completely blown up these days.
  14. It's just too snooty for me. Sticking with the Colorado comps, it's Evergreen to me. There's a reason I cashed in my chips and bailed on Evergreen.
  15. Was probably just the cover for him not throwing at the Combine. Did he weigh in again today?
  16. Asheville is basically just hillbilly Boulder. It has become a caricature of itself. Brevard is kinda becoming the new Asheville IMO. If you like Asheville of 25 years ago, Brevard is basically a smaller version of that. It's the Lyons to Boulder.
  17. I definitely agree with our brass that game film is by far and away the most important evaluation tool but if he doesn't throw at all during this pre-draft process... I mean, WTF?
  18. Here they are Honestly, I think it's really just that one UK fan.
  19. As it should be. We have the #1 pick. We hold all the cards. Even if we know who we want do all the due diligence anyway. Gather all the information you possibly can to make the most educated, informed decision you can possibly make.
  20. Holy poo. Did you actually unironically include Columbia in that poll?
  21. It pains me to say it because I love the kid but he needs to go. He's not improving here and we're not improving as a team with him taking the lion's share of the shots. He needs a coach to help him with shot selection and decision making in general, not a constant green light. And as a team we need to move the ball and having two shoot first, shoot second, pass as a last resort guards playing nearly all the guard minutes just isn't working.
