  1. Oh I agree with that point. I only advocate the Safety if there's no OTs or DEs truely worth it, or Cooper.
  2. I wasn't trying to be combative, but you were sticking to that OT point despite it being said a few times "if no OT worth it that high is available". That's where I got the impression you were saying reach for an OT regardless of anything. You didn't say anything about a DE, made the comment about the QB being on his ass. Apologies if you felt I was attacking you or being condescending.
  3. I wouldn't disagree. Are there any elite NFL sized DE prospects in this draft? I haven't heard of any. I'd still rather have Cooper or a top LT than the DE though.
  4. So what you're saying is to take a Rd 2 OT in the top 5 rather than the top Safety? I disagree.
  5. we're both saying if the OTs worth it at the top of the first are gone and the WRs as well, then an elite prospect S is the next best option.
  6. I would DEFINITELY prefer a top OT or Copper but if they're not available Collins is my next choice. We haven't had a decent Safety since the Hitman got shitcanned.
  7. As long as you mean Landon and not La'el I agree.
  8. I'd only be ok with it if it's only a few spots down, picking up an extra 2nd or 3rd (if only 1 or 2 spots). Certainly not out of the 1st, and definitely not down to the bottom of the first. And I'd only be ok with it if Cooper is gone and no top tier LTs are available. edit: but I do disagree with the positions of need, heh. IMO the positions we most need to upgrade with high draft picks are OT, WR and S
  9. And here's a slightly more realistic trade scenario. Round 1 Pick 11 (N.O.): Landon Collins, SS, Alabama (A) Round 2 Pick 7: Cameron Erving, OT, Florida State (B+) Round 2 Pick 11 (N.O.): Melvin Gordon, RB, Wisconsin (A) Round 3 Pick 7: Justin Hardy, WR, East Carolina (B+) Round 4 Pick 7: Cam Thomas, CB, Western Kentucky (A-) Round 5 Pick 7: Tyrus Thompson, OT, Oklahoma © Round 6 Pick 7: Norkeithus Otis, OLB, North Carolina (A-) Round 7 Pick 7: Darius Kilgo, DT, Maryland (A)
  10. Decided to go buck wild on trades at the first-take.com one. Here are the hilarious results. Your Picks: Round 1 Pick 13 (STL): Andrus Peat, OT, Stanford (A) Round 2 Pick 7: Melvin Gordon, RB, Wisconsin (A-) Round 2 Pick 13 (STL): Dorial Green-Beckham, WR, Oklahoma (A) Round 2 Pick 14 (HOU): Ty Sambrailo, OT, Colorado State ( Round 3 Pick 7: Trey Flowers, DE, Arkansas (A-) Round 4 Pick 8 (NYG): Paul Dawson, OLB, TCU ( Round 4 Pick 11 (N.O.): Eric Rowe, CB, Utah (A-) Round 4 Pick 14 (HOU): Jermaine Whitehead, FS, Auburn ( Round 5 Pick 4 (NYJ): Deshazor Everett, CB, Texas A&M (C+) Round 5 Pick 14 (HOU): Kyshoen Jarrett, SS, Virginia Tech (A-) Round 5 Pick 20 (MIA): Leon Orr, DT, Florida (A) Round 6 Pick 7: Jake Smith, C, Louisville (B-) Round 7 Pick 7: Cameron Artis-Payne, RB, Auburn (C-)
  11. And I have a feeling we won't be stuck with Deangelo's contract much longer (not all of it anyway, shouldn't be TOO much dead money left by now).
  12. We might get a comp pick or two. No trades have either taken from nor given us picks. And I definitely agree about the big school part. I'm sick and tired of the Silatolus, Kugbilas, Armanti Edwards, etc. Pick guys that have shown they can play with the big boys.
  13. And for my third and final draft I wanted to see what I'd do if I only took 1 WR, since I think we only really need 1. It's just a big need for that 1. 6: R1P6 WR AMARI COOPER ALABAMA 38: R2P6 RB MELVIN GORDON WISCONSIN 70: R3P6 OT JAKE FISHER OREGON 102: R4P6 CB DAMIAN SWANN GEORGIA 134: R5P6 OT ERIC LEFELD CINCINNATI 166: R6P6 DE HENRY ANDERSON STANFORD 198: R7P6 S BRISON WILLIAMS SOUTH CAROLINA First thing that will jump out at people is Gordon being available in the 2nd. Might not happen, but the first RB off the board in a few recent drafts has happened in the 2nd. It's possible. Also, I didn't address OT as highly as I would have liked to, but hopefully one of the two guys would be at least an upgrade to Bell. (They probably could walk off their campuses right now onto the Panthers practice field and start right away...) Also, I looked up Henry Anderson and I like the thought of getting him late. He's a big guy, listed at 6'6 295 lbs and good stats. Makes me think JJ Watt. Obviously not the prospect Watt was, but he could be used in 3-4 looks or as an investment in a future switch if it's being thought about.
  14. For my second attempt I wanted to see how it would fall if I went OT with the first pick, and loandbehold the Jets took Cooper the pick before ours so it made it easy. 6: R1P6 OT BRANDON SCHERFF IOWA 38: R2P6 WR DORIAL GREEN-BECKHAM MISSOURI 70: R3P6 WR RASHAD GREENE FLORIDA STATE 102: R4P6 CB QUANDRE DIGGS TEXAS 134: R5P6 OT DARYL WILLIAMS OKLAHOMA 166: R6P6 S SAM CARTER TCU 198: R7P6 OLB NORKEITHUS OTIS NORTH CAROLINA If DGB's character concerns are too great, Kevin White - WVU would be a good substitute at that pick.
  15. I've been kinda partial to FanSpeak's simulator since last year. Decided to give them a whirl. Here's the first draft results: 6: R1P6 WR AMARI COOPER ALABAMA 38: R2P6 OT CAMERON ERVING FLORIDA STATE 70: R3P6 S KARL JOSEPH WEST VIRGINIA 102: R4P6 WR JUSTIN HARDY EAST CAROLINA 134: R5P6 OT DARYL WILLIAMS OKLAHOMA 166: R6P6 RB JONATHAN WILLIAMS ARKANSAS 198: R7P6 OLB MICHAEL ORAKPO TEXAS STATE The double WR-OL pattern wasn't intentional (not the second combo anyway), but that's how the board fell at each of the picks. I like the idea.
  16. Lawdy, two young OGs that still could be good (Norwell, Turner) on the roster with gaping holes at OT and across from KB and you take an OG with our first pick? I would not be happy with this draft at all, no offense. I really strongly believe our first pick either needs to be Cooper or a top LT. If NEITHER is available, and the #2 WR isn't worth it that high, and we can't trade back, then start looking at Safeties and CBs, or even DEs if we don't resign Hardy.
  17. Your Picks: Round 1 Pick 7: Amari Cooper, WR, Alabama (A) Round 2 Pick 7: Ereck Flowers, OT, Miami (Fla.) (C+) Round 3 Pick 7: Durrell Eskridge, FS, Syracuse ( Round 4 Pick 7: Paul Dawson, OLB, TCU ( Round 5 Pick 7: Ibraheim Campbell, SS, Northwestern (B-) Round 6 Pick 7: Adam Shead, OG, Oklahoma (B-) Round 7 Pick 7: Cameron Artis-Payne, RB, Auburn (
  18. My first stab. They had Cooper going #1 or I would have taken him. I don't know much about the guys I took from the 3rd on, I just picked the best rated guys they had at positions I wanted to address. Your Picks: Round 1 Pick 7: Andrus Peat, OT, Stanford (A-) Round 2 Pick 7: Melvin Gordon, RB, Wisconsin (A-) Round 3 Pick 7: Durrell Eskridge, FS, Syracuse ( Round 4 Pick 7: Dres Anderson, WR, Utah (A) Round 5 Pick 7: Doran Grant, CB, Ohio State (B-) Round 6 Pick 7: Dyshawn Davis, OLB, Syracuse (A-) Round 7 Pick 7: Curtis Riley, CB, Fresno State (B+)
  19. One of these things is far more true than the others.
  20. I'd honestly rather have Webb in than DA if Cam has to come out for some reason.
  21. Webb to King is looking good. They should both stick, barring something stupid in the next 3 games.
  22. What, back in January when he was doing those interviews and spots on NFLN before the Super Bowl? That's not terribly recent but I guess it would show it wasn't just a weekend thing or a brief thing back in September. Sent from my iPhone using CarolinaHuddle
  23. Are these pics recent? Were they taken back in September/October when they might have been hanging out (possibly before he knew she was batshit insane) or were they taken last month or something? Because they were seen together at some point in history doesn't mean he was dating her or he had her over or he knew anything about the cocaine or any of that. I'm not saying I couldn't believe he could have been dating her or anything of those things, but I certainly am not ready to just accept it as fact because some [rushed most likely] article called her his girlfriend.
