The 1st offseason for a new staff that has to use the majority of someone else's players. Wilks had the benefit of being here long enough to establish chemistry with the players who he had already coached. The 2 situations are not remotely the same. Also it's a new season and a fresh start. No matter how much you want to expect playoffs, it ain't happening this season. Also, it will take another offseason for Frank to assemble enough of his own type players before you can judge what kind of coach he's going to be. Expecting playoffs now is a fools errand.

It's over? That's all I got.

They've got a lot to clean up next week.

It was everything. You cannot pick just 1 thing because it was a collective effort. Our depth is questionable to say the least.

Thank God

What are 5 points you looking for tomorrow?

The 5 traits of a great quarterback. Too soon? -
I think it's great he's being a part of the celebration. My son and I both would love to be there. He's a Mahomes fan but I'm working on him.
-
I'm pretty sure it's was a joke.

Nfl Network will air the Packers and Bengals at 7 pm and then the Broncos and Cardinals after that.

I think someone around here still has contact with him. It was posted sometime back he's out there on social media somewhere doing his thing. He's left us behind for bigger and better things. I don't do social media so I can't keep up with his latest adventures. I miss his crazy ass around here.

how important is it that we win preseason games?
Jon Snow replied to rayzor's topic in Carolina Panthers
It probably has something to do with the fact that the teams couldn't produce a lineup that could win at least 1 game. If you think about, the starters should be able to put points on the board at least to tie or take a lead before the backups take over. The primary backups needs to be competent enough to add to or at least hold a lead. If none of those two units can pull out at least 1 out of 4, now 3, well you probably don't have enough talent or competent coaching to win very many games. -

I second this. -
how important is it that we win preseason games?
Jon Snow replied to rayzor's topic in Carolina Panthers
The only thing that matters to me is not if we win or lose but how we won or lost. The preseason record means nothing. These games are meant to evaluate players new to the team in a game situation. It's a chance for the coaches to iron out the kinks before the real battle begins. Sure, they want to win but in reality it's more about seeing who stays and who goes. -
SCP would be proud of you.

This is the most likely trajectory for him unless he establishes a special teams spot at minimum.
-
It's pretty simple really. It's from fans of qbs the Panthers didn't draft.

That's an odd thing to do to your spanking new qb. I could see putting 1 second stringer on the line to test him with the starters. But to put the entire 2nd string out there for your supposed starting qb seems a bit risky and counterproductive to said qbs development.
-
They will pick a defensive player and continue to suck. Poor CJ is on his own trying to develop as a pro qb and be their entire offense. Kinda like Cam had to do but he's less talented as Cam was.

This game is a "let's see who can screw up the most" game. Just some ugly football. I hope like hell we at least play better than these 2 teams.

Frank said that all starters would contribute in some fashion in this game. That's is if they are healthy of course. You would have to ask Frank about the logic behind that. He said that as a completely new team they all need some more reps in the new system to get ready for the season. That includes the coaching staff.
