  1. When I mock, I find it hard to pass up on a few of these center-guards. I get it.
  2. I think we should let him walk and hopefully get a third rounder for him. No i don't think that. Brown plays every down. Most DTs play half that--pay the man top dollar for DTs. he is worth it.
  3. There seem to be ton of DTs in this draft not sure how good they are...
  4. WHAT? I just noticed Chinn's snap percentage. Heck, he was in on only a few more defensive snaps than me. Does he not fit the Evero way? I think they wanted him to play big nickel--what the hell happened? Was he injured and I forgot? Hendership played much more than Chinn
  5. Its cool. we can adjust. thanks for the original post. It helped me understand it better
  6. MHS PRIORITY LIST (And this is based on expected costs) To focus on Offense, we need to bring back our D-- LOLB - Brian Burns (UFA) Snap Percentage (77.16) - PFF Grade 74.1 (Not worth the big bucks. I hate it, but he made it difficult for us to pay him what he wants. As you should never reach in the draft, the same applies to free agency. Tag and trade, or just tag. He is #1 priority in order to get something for him. ILB - Frankie Luvu (UFA) Snap Percentage (93.84) - PFF Grade 78.5 Seems to me that he is the underdog done good story and is now a leader. He's a dog, and we will bring him back. Elite at his position? Not really ROLB - Yetur Gross-Matos (UFA) Snap Percentage (44.17) - PFF Grade 65.4 (surprised but he played his role fairly well. Has been progressing each year. See if he returns on a budget, but I see a market for him. 4.5 sacks is not good, but 4 fumble recoveries tells he is always around the ball) LOLB - Marquis Haynes SR (UFA) Snap Percentage (13.46) - PFF Grade 71.9 Getting better with age NB - Jeremy Chinn (UFA) Snap Percentage (27.11) - PFF Grade 57.7 Was he a one-hit wonder or has he been misused? Too good to not try to keep. I would want to leave, if i were him. DT - Nick Thurman (ERFA) Snap Percentage (34.79) - PFF Grade 63.4 Pleasantly surprised. at 29 in his prime. I would try to keep him. CB - Shaquill Griffin (UFA) Snap Percentage (7.30) - PFF Grade 67.0 Why not? Bigger need than we realize. Need some depth there. Not sure about the Jackson contract or Horn's hangnail issue. 1-2 year deal WR- Ihmir Smith-Marsette (RFA) Snap Percentage (10.70) - PFF Grade 63.6 He will be 25. Plays STs. Showed flashes. Lowball him, but I would give him an offer WR - Laviska Shenault JR (UFA) Snap Percentage (8.01) - PFF Grade 67.4 This guy could be the sleeper nobody is talking about--may be nice in the new system....Wild card, and only 26. Should be cheap. He should get resigned, but the injury stuff may eliminate him FS - Sam Franklin JR (UFA) Snap Percentage (27.39) - PFF Grade 58.0 Special teamer, but does stupid stuff to get holding penalties
  7. The candidate walks into the room and there is Morgan sitting at a table. Across from him is a chair. On the table in front of the chair, is a stainless steel bowl filled with Pedigree dog food. There is a bowl of water beside it. Morgan says, "have a seat. I don't have any questions at this time."
  8. It depends what mock site you use, but I think you are right. I grab one. We have Thompson returning (I think) and Luvu--and I would like to see what they do with Chinn--but yeah, we could use one.
  9. I added to my answer. It was low hanging fruit though
  10. In fairness, your therapist may have had a point. Seriously, mental health is important and should probably be more of a measured ability when scouting a player. Not to say, "That kid is crazy" but to put him through an emotional intelligence examination. I used to use them on my freshmen college students when I taught the intro course called "{College Name} Journey" We found that certain types of emotional maturity, sometimes tied to mental health, were predictors of success and failure. Maybe something like that.
  11. I am of the mindset that BC could become the LT. Ickey to G would make us scary up the middle. Both players are good athletes. Ickey is raw, BC's arms a bit short for T---but his athleticism is unreal.
  12. For me, it is very difficult not grabbing a C or G early. There are some studs there. But I think we get more bang for the buck going WR and CB (nobody really talking about CB---starting to think I could be wrong----nah.)
  13. I agree 100%, but we probably diagree with how to fix it. Its happening!!!!!! 1. Campen gone. That will be the biggest improvement. 2. Ekwonu will either start getting it at LT or he will swap with Christensen. that adjustment could make us better at 2 positions. Ekwonu has the athleticism but he needs so work on his fundamentals, He was raw when we drafted him and Campen did nothing with him. 3. BC and Corbett will be back from IR. That is like adding 2 starters. Yes, our OL sucked, but have you watched to see where we were getting killed? A gap. 4. Starting guards beside Bozeman will make him better. Mays, Zavala, and Jensen need a lot of work, but one or two could become depth. We may add an OL late, but I do not see overreacting because our OL was injured, we had a rookie QB, and the system was not a good match with our talent. I 100000% agree that the OL has be good or the season is a waste of time. I just think 2022 was not bad for the OL and we added a LT. Lets develop what we have and go from there.
  14. I would not be too critical of him. I mean, in the past few years, three first round QBs have bombed here. Teddy, Sam, and Baker.
  15. Drafted before 2 starting NFL QBs. To be honest, I was certain we traded up to get Howell. But NOPE.
  16. Like what you did with the 2.7 seconds. Told my wife that was my new rule. She asked if that includes foreplay. Dang that woman!
  17. Some good points being made here, and I feel the love, y'all. I appreciate the insights because it helps me be all I can be. When Roger goes to the podium with the Bears pick, I will be on suicide watch. Give me a reason to live, people.
  18. It is just hard to say when your Guards are all Pro flag footballers from Jersey.
  19. There are some good centers in the draft that could step in right away. Bozeman scared me last year, but hard to give him too much grief when he is flanked by those reserve guards. Bozeman did have some history at G somewhere at some point, so an internal OG/C would be nice.
  20. I know what you are thinking--are you CRAZY MHS? Yes, but crazy people get good ideas too. Here are my points: The main problem with the OL was in pass protection. (We are going to adopt a system in which the QB has a clock of 2.7 seconds. Investing in stud pass protectors is not a wise use of limited moves and $$. Here is why:) 1. Campen is gone. He sucked and the OL actually digressed under his watchful eye. He was a Tepper snitch. Nuff Said. With a new system and a more hip and groovy OL coach, players like Ekwonu, and the reserves should respond. More ground and pound with quick QB releases will make Ekwonu elite--trust me. 2. We get BC and Corbett back. 40% of our offensive line was missing up the gut, and that is where defenses attacked us. A 5' 10" QB standing in the pocket with facial pressure and WRs who can't separate. Not a recipe for success. 3. We can use some inner OL depth, but Mays and maybe Zavala need some development. (I know, Zavala really sucked--but he was decent at NCS--I recall a G named Evan Mathis who sucked here and went to become a pro bowler at Philly. Maybe they can come around with a new coach, new system. 4. Ekwonu, Christensen--if Icky sucks again and needs to be moved to G, BC is a stud athlete (see combine #s) and he might very well be the LT--find who does what the best and possibly flip flop them. 5. In 2022, the OL was decent to OK, and that was before Ekwonu. The OL if healthy, can get it done. We need 2 or 3 reserves, and I am guessing we pick up a vet in free agency. So, MHS, if you are wrong, we are screwed!! Yup, but if I am right we are screwed as well. Our resources need to go to WR and (in my unpopular opinion) CB (Jackson could be gone and Horn is hurt so much he gets great parking. We need 4 CBs who can step up. We have 2 who are made of glass. Not even sure a third round CB can play, but the second rounder has to be WR. I also think we might double dip at WR. CMC's brother is a deep sleeper from Rice. Washington from UVA is interesting. Lotta options deep in the draft--maybe we should double dip. Just stirring the pot to get some thoughts going so I can see under your receding hairlines.
  21. I want to make the #33 pick even more complicated than this.... After round 1, lotta teams try to trade up and the phones will ring between day 1 and day 2. Since we have mulitple needs, I wpuld not be too surprised to see us trade down to about #40 and add a third rounder. Heard it here first! The WR group is really good, and if a no brainer first rounder does not drop to #33, I would consider a trade back--not too far---8-10 spots.
  22. Sure is. I don't think we can do better than what we have---we improve with Hurst getting better and maybe prospering in a new system. Tremble was showing signs of becoming a solid #2. Ricci from IR could help as well.
  23. I would add CB to that list. Don't know about Dante's contract and both are injury prone.
  24. And yet you opened the thread and contributed. Interesting. Very Interesting.
