  1. I think Elflein will be the starting LG, and I think we will like him. He is good in the run game he can pull and block in the flats or cross the formation and kick out. He is young, and needs to work on pass protection, but I think he will start. About Cam Ewing. He actually played C at Florida State for a season (I think his final year). He is 29 and I think could be the next RG. At KC, he looked good at G and played both sides. They paid him more than a backup, so I think he will be in the competition at several positions (LT, RG, C)? If we got 2 starting Guards out of this and they play well, this could be great. I know many of you are bummed--so was I, but these were not leftovers. We went out and got them--we targeted these two "diamonds in the rough"
  2. Injury history. A lot of people are turned off by this, but I know that injuries tend to come in bunches--so they better low ball him because his stock, with the six game suspension, has to be a bargain. I mean, if his own team refuses to negotiate, we should not throw top dollars at him.

  4. I read something recently that stated they may bring Trubiski back. Who knows, but that ship seems to have sailed.
  5. we may already have our 2 guards. Not sure how they will be used, but...
  6. I did not think they had the room. JuJu might be gone.
  7. I LOVE this time of year.
  8. Nah. It is a good thing the cupboard is full of LBs here in Carolina. Whew! We are heading for another year of major changes.
  9. But everyone, I have a theory. Gather round. We basically had 3 NTs here last year, and we were not sure about Roy, who has since proven himself. I think Kerr does not fit the mold, because we want a 3T or two. We are going to add one--which is why Obada became less valuable. I stake my reputation as a person who is never wrong on this.
  10. I lied about the 40-53 Huddlers so that people would think I am in the know like Verge. I checked my inbox. crickets.
  11. Me too--fully expected us to do that. These 2 guys can back up the entire OL--and either would probably be an upgrade at LG.
  12. Since the start of Tampering period, I have had 40-73 Huddlers PM me, all asking me for the MHS831, my real name actually, perspective. So here it is, if bullet form, although I am not a violent man: The Panthers wanted these guys because they locked em down very early in the process. The are both versatile, able to play multiple positions. Both hustle, getting down field on screens or draw plays. They both have weaknesses and injury histories that are not considered major or career-threatening. So do we know what we have? 2 centers? A guard and tackle? A center and a tackle? 2 Guards? A center and a guard? The answer (right now) is "yes." I am sure that Rhule and Fits are aware of their shortcomings and their risks, but they didn't just grab them for a year, they signed them to multiple year deals. They wanted these 2 players and targeted them for a reason. You have to think their versatility is key. Perhaps that will suffice for now.
  13. about the draft being full of OL---it sure is, but rookies starting on the OL in the NFL are a bit rare. Defenses love it.
  14. And Scott was not the worst--if we grab a T in the second and he needs a half season, we are probably OK. Basically, we signed a Larsen who can compete at LG and a T that can play behind both ends of the LOS--the 19th and 70th picks in their respective drafts.
  15. You always bring sensibility to the Huddle. Until I see the big picture, I am not totally in or out. These 2 contracts can be paid for by trading Teddy
  16. That is kind of how i feel. I am waiting for them to make sense. I get it if we waited until next week and looked at these guys, but during the tampering period (I know one was released, I think (but the longer you wait, the price goes down. They must have a certain "type" they are looking for. I firmly believe that the system must be a good fit, and I recall a player like Evan Mathis getting released here and becoming a pro bowler in Philly--so let's see/
  17. https://www.ganggreennation.com/2020/12/4/22149126/scouting-jets-offensive-lineman-pat-elflein Good run blocker, screen pass guy, terrible pass blocker vs bull rush.
  18. I am not extremely happy with this---I wanted our own G Miller or Austin Blythe (Rams). I can say that we keep getting former Viking OL and they are known for sucking there. Maybe he is better at C than G-I dunno. I am happy that we are addressing the OL.
  19. I did not realize he played Nickel--he is a tremendous athlete. I know when asked, Rhule (and this does not matter much at all except for the fact that Hartsfield can play every position in the secondary) mentioned his as one of the Safeties---so I did not think of him that way. Interesting point. Thanks,
  20. I want Elder back, and I think we will re-sign Miller. I am not sure Armah comes back. He was a good special teamer, below average FB, in my opinion. Lotta teams don't use them any more.
  21. Two guards---and what do I hope we get out of this free agency? 2 guards (and a CB).
  22. I will say Cameron Sutton, CB (formerly Pittsburgh). Because that is what I want to happen.
