The "not at 6" stuff is amusing. QB is the most critical position on the field. If you think he is good, you take him. If not, you don't. Period, end of discussion.

TbT... Why couldn't he leave the burgers alone!!

Given how it turned out, would things had been any worse for Kelvin had we kept Smith? -
Pickett skipped Hand Measurement part of Senior bowl!!

Jamarcus Russel and Ryan Leaf. Just kidding, I have no idea. -
Sorry, but no. Bengals outplayed both the Chiefs and Titans. Bengals defense was magnificent in the second half of the Chiefs game.
-
No worries. I honestly think they started mixing it up more.

It was a tongue in cheek comment. One poster said they started dropping 8 in coverage, another said they started bringing more pressure.
-
In all seriousness though, without a superb play by Jesse Bates, we might be talking about how Pat Mahomes might get his second ring. Sometimes, its less about scheme, adjustments, etc... and more about making plays.
-
So they dropped 8 into coverage and started bringing more pressure? Dam, their defensive coordinator is a friggin genius. lol

Who will be worst team in NFC south next season
Davidson Deac II replied to Jmac's topic in Carolina Panthers
Just wanted to point out that they tried this early in the season and we beat them like a drum. Not that we won't be the worst team in the NFC South, but that game might have shown how important Payton is to them. -
What is Rhule going to give up for Jimmy G?
Davidson Deac II replied to Sean Payton's Vicodin's topic in Carolina Panthers
Fwiw, I think with Teddy, we probably win two to three more games this past year. Of course, some here would consider that a bad thing. -

I know that was a tongue in cheek comment, but Darnold and Jimmy G have one thing in common. They are both off the books after the upcoming season. -
Fwiw, qb's are almost always the most valuable player on a good team. TB without Brady, GB without Aaron, KC without Mahomes, they are all in a world of hurt. Sometimes I think there should be a best QB, and a separate award for everyone else. It does make the Eagles Superbowl win a few years ago amazing though.

Really bad decision on that pass by JG. On 4th down, its understandable. On third, no way in he!! do you throw that.
-
You could say the same thing about the forty whiners.
-
To win the majority of these close games, you need a qb with icewater in his veins, solid coaching that also keeps cool, a defense capable of making some big plays at the end of the game, and a field kicker who is clutch. We don't have any of those things right now.

So Pickett?

College format is interesting and far and away better than the NFL format. The NFL format was mostly designed during the old days, when NFL games tended to be very low scoring and dominated by defense. With the rules changes making offense easier, the OT format needs to become more modern and closer to being fair/even for both teams. Some model of the college style would be a vast improvement. But the NFL tends to be slow to adapt major changes to the game. That being said, kudos to the Bengals defense. Amazing that they kept Mahomes out of the end zone from late in the second qtr, thru the second half and one series in overtime.

Jesse Bates, former Deac, with "perhaps" the defensive play of the game.
-
Not sure I would say that. At qb, they are the least bad team, and that is about it. And Ryan won't be around much longer. They should have picked a QB instead of a tight end.

If we are referencing historical figures, I would prefer Suleiman the Magnificent.
-
I dislike the Tarheels. But I would think that if they haven't don't that well at recruiting top offensive talent, that would actually make Howell's performance more impressive. Personally, I would rather have a guy who looked great on a subpar team than a guy who looked good on a great team. The only knock I have heard on Howell so far is his height. Could be a problem, but certainly there have been great NFL qb's that have overcome that particular issue.
-
Even if you allow both teams to possess it once, it's still a big advantage to win the coin toss. That is why the college ot rules are superior. The chances are almost even.

He made the kick, but also missed one he should have made, plus an xp. Wasn't exactly a great game for him.
