  1. I honestly think that CMC leaving improved our offense. He was just to much of a crutch for our coaches and qb's to lean on, and I fear that even with Rhule leaving, we would have tried to feed him too much. I am wondering if SF is falling into that trip. In the last game, CMC had 23 carries and 8 targets. I guess it was in part due to injury, but even so, that is a lot.
  2. I agree. He has really only had one game where he kicked with the game on the line, and he failed. And his kickoffs aren't great.
  3. They are not protecting the players. They are protecting the qb. You can still hit the non qb's under most circumstances. They are more concerned about making the games better than keeping the players safe.
  4. I hope he changes/turns his life around, tries to become a good person. But regarding success in the league, I agree. And while they wouldn't admit it, I think the commissioner and the others that run the league feel the same way. They don't want to hand the trophy to Deshaun.
  5. In other news, the Browns paid a ton of money for a criminal qb, who completed less than 50% of his passes and had a qb rating of 49 today. I am so, so glad that Watson didn't come here.
  6. Right now, we have a decent chance of making the playoffs. Probably 2 in 5. Tampa is worse than we are. Of course, its still Brady, and they may win next week, but I certainly wouldn't say its deluded to think we have a shot. A good shot.
  7. They stopped the Jets. The Vikings were so far behind they gave up on the run. The Jaguars had a high average ypc, but once again were so far behind they gave up on the run. The Bills lit them up, not that many runs, but a high ypc. Their run defense hasn't been that great, teams just didn't run the ball against them as much. Of course, I am not denigrating our performance today. We have been dominant above and beyond any other team they have faced this year. At least until the last few series.
  8. In fairness, its been a long time since we blew a lead like this. 2016 I think. Of course, its been a long time since we had a lead like this.
  9. It's not really an enigma. The Steelers have a top five run defense, Seattle and Detroit have a bottom five run defense.
  10. No greater example of what a bad coach Rhule was than the play of Foreman and Marshall.
  11. Four yards on first down. Penalty on second, and then a two yard run. Incomplete pass on third down. We punt and give it right back to them.
  12. Since Rhule was canned, we throw the ball less than the vast majority of teams in the league. Ian Thomas may be overpaid, and certainly isn't a great pass catching tight end, but we can't blame him for not catching passes that aren't thrown.
  13. Clawson is a good coach, but if I see another slow mesh/slow developing play on third or fourth and short, I may throw something at the TV.
  14. The answer to that is yes. Some are molded, but the truly elite are just that way.
  15. You might be right, but I am not so sure I would want Fields to learn under the brain trust in charge of the Panthers at that time.
  16. It's a crapshoot. In 2018, it was Baker Mayfield and Sam Darnold, with Josh Allen third, and Lamar Jackson an afterthought. The prior year, Trubiski was the guy while Mahomes and Watson dropping to 10 and 12. In 2020, the word throughout the season was tank for Tua. Burrow came out of nowhere due to LSU's performance, and there was some guy named Herbert. Tua ending being the weakest of the three. I do think that exec's put way too much importance on the Pro day though.
  17. He is mostly correct, but its more like you make an Educated guess and keep your fingers crossed that it works out. That being said, we have to draft a qb next year. Got to try it.
  18. Have you watched the Cowboys lately? They aren't exactly looking good, getting beat by a sub 500 team and should have lost to the Texans. We will probably lose to them? Probably. But its certainly not a sure thing.
  19. Mayfield looked better last week. Maybe that is the key. He plays better when he has little knowledge of the offense/plays and just throws the ball.
  20. Or a franchise edge rusher for that matter. Although on the surface, those seem to be a bit more of a sure thing than qb.
  21. I thought it was the table you do all the coke on.
