  1. The problem is him becoming a starting NFL qb would be a significant aberration. He is the smallest starter in NFL history, or something like that. He doesn't have a super strong arm, nor does he have great athleticism. The odds were already against him, and now that he has 18 games under his belt and has gotten worse as he progressed, the odds of him becoming a NFL starter are even slimmer than they were. So it may be better if we get what we can for him.
  2. So apparently, the key to drafting a qb is to have the number two draft pick.
  3. Trevor Lawrence is definitely not a generational talent. A generational talent can win with an average offense around him. Brady did it, Drew Brees did it, Aaron Rogers did it, Mahomes is doing it. They made the players around them look better. I think of him as Matt Ryan, pretty good when you surround him with an all-star cast. That being said, there is not a chance in he!! that the Jaguars trade him anytime soon.
  4. Same here. It felt great to win one, it felt great to see the offense and defense do something, but its still just one win. Would like to see a trend develop before I start thinking positively about the season.
  5. I was watching him last night and thinking RGIII. If I am their coach, I tell him unless the game is on the line, slide.
  6. I didn't change course. The number one goal of a coach is to win football games. If it's this early in the season, and a coach is not putting the team on the field that gives him the best chance to win, then that coach will not last long in the NFL. This is not just with our owner, its with any owner, fanbase, team etc... The Lockeroom doesn't care about developing some rookie, they care about the coach giving them a shot to win. You want a guy like Johnson to want to come back, the coach has to care about winning. The development comes in practice, in watching how the veterans do it, in working your way up. And when an injury occurs, making the most of it. Throwing guys out there who aren't ready, just for "development" is likely to lead to the unemployment line.
  7. Watching Daniels last night, maybe its better to have the #2 spot in the draft when picking a qb. At least it has been the last two years.
  8. You mean a reason other than wanting to win football games?
  9. Its early in his career, but Daniels seems like a far better passer than Vick ever was.
  10. Burrow gets sacked a lot and still produces. The secondary better show up. And the offense.
  11. The Washington/Cincy game is turning into a very good game.
  12. Hamstrings are not usually career ending so not to bad for him. Unfortunately, they can sometimes linger for a while, so no telling when he will be back.
  13. There were Panther fans that wanted to tank for Trevor. Jacksonville had the first pick two years running, and it hasn't seemed to help much.
  14. Beautiful throw by Daniels and solid route/catch by Mclaurin.
  15. I know its way way way to early to judge yet, but so far, Jayden Daniels looks like the best QB in this years draft.
  16. WR1 is one of the most overrated things in the NFL. I would much prefer 3-4 good receivers over a clear #1. That being said, I think Johnson looks very good so far.
  17. I would think that the thought is that if they can make Fields a game manager for now with several games of relatively low expectations, they can eventually start giving him a little more, piece by piece. He certainly has the physical skills to be a good qb, just hasn't shown the consistency.
  18. I don't care about Corral, but if Willis continues to play well, would we try to get him from Green Bay
  19. Thielen looked like he was in a lot of pain. Not sure if that means a long term injury. Hopefully not. But if it does, then I guess we get to see what Leggette and Mingo can do.
  20. I pretty much stopped watching ESPN as they pick 1 or 2 teams in each sport and focus on those teams to the exclusion of everything else
  21. Well, Falcons lost. We are tied for third. And we scored the same amount of points today as the rest of the division combined.
  22. 3 Td, 292 yards, no picks, 134 quarterback rating with his best offensive teammates sitting on the sidelines. He did have a fumble, but he had a great game. They lost due to bad special teams play and a defense that couldn't stop LA in the 4th qtr.
  23. We scored 36 points today. The rest of the division has 33 points total so far (14 for Atlanta so far, 12 for the Aints, 7 for the Bucs), although that could change with Atlanta still playing.
