Wow, just saw the Eagles win due to a blocked fg returned for a td. A few seconds later, the Jets put themselves in a position to win with a blocked fg returned for a td. That is insane. -

We mostly shut down Bijan. He had a couple of nice runs, but for the most part especially on first down, we held him to 2 or 3 yards. I think that was really the key to the game. We forced them to throw, and they aren't very good at it. -

Renfrow and Young look out of sync. I think maybe that will improve as the season goes along. -

Except for a couple of runs on one drive, we actually did a good job on Bijan. In the first 20 minutes or so, they faced a lot of second and 8 or third and 7 type downs. We essentially forced them into passing downs. -

I can't remember the last time we shut out any team for an entire half of football. Of course, we had some help with some really bad fg kicking by the falcons, but still. -
Canes defense looks better than last year.
-
They are not a good football team.

I disagree, and I think 99% of coaches go for two in that situation. If you go for two and don't make it, you have to score three more times. If you do make it, you only have to score twice.
-
Going for two was the correct decision at the time. Three td's and three two point conversions ties the game. Otherwise, you have to score four times. The coach made the correct call, I don't think any objective analyst would say otherwise.

So, just what is it that makes a QB "elite"?

IMO, the most critical ability for a QB is to be able to get the ball out quickly and accurately under pressure. It is what seperates the good from the great. -
Regarding Mccarthy, I think the bloom is off the rose a bit. He may still be good, but has not been good tonight.

Ejiro evero likely to be fired Monday

I don't get the criticism. If its for past performance, so be it. But the defense played fairly well today. Completely shut down the Cardinals run game, and Murray didn't have a great game passing. Offensive Turnovers and poor clock management at the end of the first half killed us. -
Maybe, although I think the jump from college to NFL has always been difficult to make. I also think the changes to the game emphasizing passing have put the qb's under a lot more scrutiny. There was a time when qb's were not usually the first pick in the draft. I know its unpopular, but I think some of these guys (Caleb Williams for example) would benefit greatly from a year on the bench watching and learning.

Another penalty on the Giants, although it was declined.
-
Sanders looks exactly the same as he did here. 2 receptions for 4 yards, and 5 rushes for 15. Burns looks like what we thought he would turn into here. Wilson is having a heck of a game to.
-
I think it would have been worse for Cam. He racked up 400 yards in each of the first two games, in part because (imo) the lockout hurt the defenses worse than the offenses. In fact, if memory serves, there were more 400 yard plus passing games in those first two games than for the entire rest of the season. Tom Brady had a 500 yard game.
-
Just to be a contrarian, the other choices in either of those seasons would have been CJ Stroud and Jayden Daniels.
-
Agreed. I think the Giants are actually fairly talented, but their coaching staff is not.
-
He also had a nice sack earlier.
-
Burns has actually had a good game today.
-
The Giants defense is actually playing fairly well. If they could cut the penalties in half even, they would likely be ahead.
