  1. How so? He was a good college player, but just couldn't cut it in the NFL. The Panthers gave him a shot, but it didn't work out for him. Seems to me that if anyone got screwed in the deal, it was the team.
  2. I wonder if they will start selling this at the casino? Pot, a food court full of munchies, and a casino seems like an easy way to separate people from their money.
  3. Apparently, the Vikings are talking with the Aints about Carr, just in case they decide to start Rattler.
  4. In fairness, Darnold is the backup. If a team has to go to their backup qb for the entire season, 99% of the time the season is a wash regardless.
  5. Mayfield is a decent not great qb, who had far and away his worst stretch of NFL football with us. Cleveland and Tampa both won games with him, we looked horrid with him. That says something about our team and staff that were around him. As far as Darnold, he has always been a guy who looks good most of the time, but makes critical mistakes that cost his team the game.
  6. If he plays well and wins games, he will get support. If he doesn't, he won't. That is how it works in professional sports. I do agree that the constant bashing is pointless. He was terrible last year, we all know it, and if he is terrible this year, he will be gone. And we will try it again with the draft next year.
  7. I hope that Young eventually looks as good for us as Brees did in his final two seasons with the Chargers.
  8. Yeah, if the defense plays great and wins us a few games but Young still looks terrible, we will be moving on from Young.
  9. I am surprised this even a question. If he looks bad again this year, its almost a guarantee they will move on, just like the Bears did with Fields, the forty whiners did with Lance, and many other teams do after a couple of years.
  10. QB and it would be nice to see the team get better in a few other areas. Running game, rushing the passer etc...
  11. The drops didn't help much either. I do wonder if the early drops impacted his confidence a little. But his pocket presence was terrible.
  12. Occam's razor could apply to either playing him or not playing him though. Simplest approach - playing him as teams have always done Simplest approach - sitting him because a few reps in a preseason game are irrelevant.
  13. Meh. I think people feel that way only because its been done that way in the past. IMO, preseason is immensely important for the second/third/fourth stringers, but for the known starters, I doubt it really matters much. I know that most of you are probably thinking of Bryce, but the reality is that the 15 or so passes he would have made in preseason are highly unlikely to make any difference in his performance this year.
  14. Northern Davidson County. The building I work in lost power and the generators had to kick in. Today is my work from home day and I missed it. Fortunately, the power in my house flickered, but mostly stayed on.
  15. Here is the list of stations in NC carrying the game. I am thinking Hickory would get charlotte channels, but I am not sure. Panthers Television and Radio | Carolina Panthers - Panthers.com
  16. It might be available on a local affiliate. For example, in the Triad it is available on wfmy channel 2 (cbs).
  17. I'm not going to worry about discerning anything. Just going to enjoy some stress free and largely meaningless Panthers football.
  18. The mens 100 meter was interesting. Incredibly close finish.
  19. You ask if anyone was watching. I just answered your question. A lot of people are watching. I watched a couple of events, mainly because the wife likes them

  21. Given how much money we spent on the oline, there should be improvement. If we get even adequate play out of center and left tackle, it should be fairly dramatic improvement.
  22. I don't necessarily agree with it, but the reality is that in the long run of the season, it won't make much of a difference. The reality is that he will get more repos in the first half of the first game than he would in the first and second preseason game.
  23. I didn't really say struggled for two years. I said struggled this year. He should start showing something at a minimum by next year. That being said, two of our own. Moose didn't do much his first or second year. 24 catches with an injury his first season and only 27 catches his second season even though he played 13 games. He exploded in his third season. Our fan base now would have labeled him a bust after the second season. And Steve Smith who was mostly a special teamer his first season (albeit a very good one), came on in his second season and exploded in the third (SB) season. On the opposite end of the spectrum, Kelvin Benjamin has the best rookie season of any receiver we have ever had and fell apart.
