Legette “I can’t say I sat back and learned anything”
NorthTryon replied to *FreeFua*'s topic in Carolina Panthers
I get that. When you said Funchess, I knew that he only looked good here and the same for Philly. I was really mad about the Benjamin over Devante Adams and the Funchess over Stephon Diggs picks. We would've no doubt had the talent to beat the all time defense of the Broncos. Rant over, I believe that the kid has looked decent at times, but being all out on him at this stage is a bit premature. I am with you on the going elsewhere and balling out though. People are saying that about Bryce and I feel if he can't look even competent here it isn't going to look better elsewhere. I am just saying we wait till at least there is continued competence at QB before we start labeling our WRs busts 19 games into their careers. -

XL looked bad with Bryce last year. He looked better with decent to competent QB play. Now he looks bad again. Wait until the kid looks bad with some consistent QB play before he is labeled a resounding bust. WRs used to take three years, now everyone is a bust. At this point in his career, our beloved Smitty would have been considered a bust. In year one he caught 10 passes for 154 yards and 0TDS. Year two he had 54 catches for 800 yards and 3 TDs. Both years he played 15 games. Chill out! If he continues to be terrible cool, doesn't progress at all this year or next fine. But the he's not smart, he doesn't know English, and I am calling it now crowd are doing too much. -
XL has had a rough go of it to start the season, but he was open a lot last year and looked better once Andy started at QB. It takes three years for WRs to really break out normally, but everyone is used to Jamar Chase and Justin Jefferson types now. Look how good Chase looked last night. Also, go Jimmy this is the chance everybody has clamored for him to get.

I like what Schlereth said about evaluating anything because everything is so bad. I am even disheartened about starting over at QB due to all the other needs. Someone was talking about stripping it down to the studs recently and I'm like we're beneath the floorboards currently.

Wonnum plays well, but Jones needs to be relegated to back up status. He will be an excellent back up, but Scourton is a better talent. Wonnum plays the run better than Princely now, but we are in a youth movement and Princely needs reps. I hope that both of these guys are going to be good for us down the road!

The unmitigated gall of this acehole!

And that's the issue with Baker. He's just a blow hard and took a shot at a guy that wasn't even thinking about him. He has always had a bad attitude and when he played terribly nobody was trying to hear it. Now that he is in a weak division and inherited a championship roster, he can get his team to the divisional round every year. Todd Bowles needs to tell him to cut that crap out. He looked lame and petty.

Schefter: Tet McMillan did not practice today (calf)
NorthTryon replied to electro's horse's topic in Carolina Panthers
The rest day he got today cannot be compared to Tatum and Haliburton trying to play through immense pain in the playoffs. Those guys were advised a certain way and went all warrior and lost this upcoming season. Hopefully this is what it appears to be on the surface and just rest. -
Ransom was asked to do everything at Ohio State. I believe he can play wherever when needed. He can play free, strong, cover, and play run defense. He looks to be better than Richardson, but Richardson does need reps. Maybe they can play him at ILB like Moehrig did some Sunday since we are so abysmal there.

Whit Weeks LSU, come on down. In April.

Nick is the bed sore on the backside of our defense! If we are going youth movement like Canales says, he should be relegated to back up special teams coverage. -
Ditto on that!

I noticed that he didn't have his ring on in recent Panther related media content so I looked it up. There was nothing online about it either. This post put the spotlight on and confirmed my earlier concerns. I remember her being involved in everything he did, she even set up events for him at the Comedy Zone. Now she's fighting with the new woman. Sad stuff.

Xavier Legette fuging sucks

Everyone seemed to take a step back. XL blocked like a TE at times last year. The cornerback one on one blocking scheme up on the Chuba loss in the 3rd is a direct result of his good blocking. Then he goes as Stink put it and plays paddy-cake with the CB who busts into the backfield and disrupts the play! As we saw yesterday, he definitely lacks in the toe drag swag department. But yesterday everyone from Bryce to XL, and several defenders looked like they took a huge step back following a promising finish to the season. Let's bark as much fire as possible and hope things are going to get better in the short term. I have had this eerie feeling that we are going to be Snyder's Redskins for the next twenty five years since Tepper became the owner. -
They have essentially turned it into the View. I was over my mother's house doing some yardwork and had went in to get water. I hear these women shouting over each other, unable to make points due to interruptions by cohost, thus seeming incoherent, and in the end just coming off as next level annoying. It was the View. At some point ESPN execs looked at that format and were like you know what might work!

It seems you just want to bag on the organization at this point. It is clear they had interest, it didn't work out initially, but it is coming out that he is getting his time to see what he wants to do. That is somehow turning into knocks on Canales play calling, lack of ingenuity, Dan's GM decisions, and the ineptitude of the entire organization. It couldn't possibly have anything to do with the fact that he was an okay to decent WR, with only one thousand yard season, and returning from battling a crippling ailment. All you keep saying is he is better than and he brings something we don't have. You know what we do have, six WRs who aren't recovering from a debilitating gastrointestinal issue.

This also shows that they are really high on the young ins at WR and want to give them the opportunity to mature on the field instead of sideline mental reps.

I'd take washed Andy Dalton over Devito. A PS flyer, that'd be ok. -
Lol yeah, he was wide open on the slant for a first down and he's out there running a route that the QB who has been in the system for two years didn't see coming. This is doing the mental gymnastics where the Panthers have to be wrong. He is old, he is dealing with injuries because he has been out of football and other WRs out played him this preseason. As of now, it looks like no one is signing him, so there goes the theory of us regretting it. Every year there is a guy that you all latch on to and he gets released. Before all of his health problems, he was slightly above average and maybe the people who were watching him everyday and evaluating didn't see what you saw. And that was nothing more than him getting open in one on ones and a couple other catches. And you are right he did do something else no one on the 53 did and that was run the wrong route causing confusion and causing an interception.

I feel that, it seems like teams do not care to keep a guy around for that purpose if he cannot help anywhere else. It used to seem back in the day that at least the ST coach would advocate for a couple to stay on the roster for years.

Why would anyone be interested in Tommy Devito? -
Simmons is a bum, can't set the edge in the run game and can't cover. He's an athlete, but it doesn't translate.
