  1. The only fairytale where I see this as possible is if the Panthers are able to do a sign and trade (again its a fairytale so I dont know if this is possible/legal) of CJ, assuming they are drafting BY with the first pick and then receive 2nd pick plus extra from Houston. Anything else is completely unacceptable for The Huddle Universe IMO.
  2. I was good with just accepting who the staff picked as it has alway been out of my hands. I leaned Stroud mainly based on prototypical build, etc…. That said the group assembled on Mint street seems very capable in their ability to evaluate and come to a competent conclusion unlike the previous regime. Can’t wait for draft and training camp.
  3. But this is how it worked in one of the 50 mock drafts I did yesterday. So yeah, it’s gonna happen for sure.
  4. I think we are saying the same thing. Agree if he turns out to be elite then no one cares what it took to get there. I just see those as being long odds and the likelihood is not very high on that happening.
  5. Certainly possible, but for that to happen your presumptive 1st round pick and your vet back up are injured or being outplayed by the teams 2nd year 3rd round draft pick who is coming off an injury. The only way (at least from my current viewpoint) this nets out to being a positive would be that Corral emerges as an elite NFL Qb. If this happens it would mean that Matt Rhule, the most incompetent coach in franchise history, architected one of the most brilliant draft picks in franchise history. That said, I think the odds of this scenario being a good thing for the franchise are not very high.
  6. I think this is a reasonable and very healthy take. I have confidence in what the FO is doing in vetting the options. It sounds like they are carefully evaluating and avoiding group think. Just want to enjoy the ride.
  7. me thinks this was 100% coincidental.
  8. Didn't realize this was already 8 pages long when I posted. Please enjoy the 85th Gary Coleman GIF (RIP) of the thread. Apologies
  9. Short (no pun intended) of Young growing several inches, there is no real spin you can put on his size. It is what it is and continued attempts to minimize it doesn't help. If we draft him, fine. The experts in the building have weighed the benefits/drawbacks to both he and Stroud and believe Young gives us the best chance to win. I can rest easy with that.
  10. After reviewing all of the detailed insider scoops I think the pick will be Young. Or maybe Stroud.
  11. It’s not often you have this problem. Usually it’s “the top 15 guys everyone wants will be gone by the eighth pick” prognostication based on huddle math. Please give me more threads like this till 8:01 pm the day of.
  12. Agree with this. But I can’t help but think need factors into final selections. Not sure how the sausage gets made but I think if 2-3 players are close you go with the one that fills the ”need”. Certainly don’t think it’s wise to reach tho.
  13. If it falls like that it’ll be ok. Obviously would like to address edge but don’t want to reach.
  14. The brains focusing on this are not concerned about 70 thousand people in the stands. They are concentrating on how to get more than 7 million (my guess probably wrong) TV's to watch it. I think the Thursday product is bad and they will do/try anything they can to improve it.
  15. I hear you. But a year ago we were bitchin’ about Sam, Rhule and which mediocre Qb we would have to reach for in 2022 draft. Today, Sam/Rhule are gone and we hold the number 1 draft position. We are so much better off.
  16. Sam's a good dude and probably a great teammate and hope he balls out in SF. But I think he is getting very close to his ceiling if he isnt there already. I would like to be wrong about this, tho.
  17. I may be in the minority but I think Tep going to the workouts is a huge positive. He doesn’t watch hours of film but sitting next to the guys who do and being able to see some of it through their eyes in real time has to be an eye opening experience.
  18. Good stuff. I think it’s good that the owner gets to see how the sausage is made. Little tidbit about Morgan picking then up shows they aren’t just helicoptering in for these things.
  19. Why don’t they just do it like the huddle and spend endless hours of explaining why their opinion is correct and anyone who disagrees is a moron.
