  1. Really, has there been a benefit? Is the team better off? How? And I was no fan of JR. Each year he's owned the team I've felt just a little less enthusiastic about the team and when he bought it I was pretty meh about the team. Now it's all gone. We're in a hole and it's not one that was here when he got here. He dug this hole.
  2. I hope you're right and something comes from this. Would be a shame for all that to be done and then just sit there. Definitely some people not going to be getting re-elected after this.
  3. I feel like it Rock Hill is going to cave. They should.
  4. where does he want to be? actually, i don't really care. not sure too many teams want him. he'll go wherever someone wants him. he's in no place to be picky.
  5. Yes, he'd be lucky if he went that early. The team that drafted him that early.....not so much. Coin toss really anything in the second round. First round .... That's just dumb. 4th round maybe a little bit of a stretch, but if we're going to draft him, that's where it should happen without any trades. 3rd round seems right for him, but I wouldn't trade up to get him.
  6. we're currently in a hole we dug and looking up at the likes of the browns.
  7. who here would be surprised if we traded for him? seems like something we would do. we traded for Darold. we're capable of all kinds of dumb.
  8. What would be the harm in giving him a tryout along with any other FA possibility? Shouldn't we keep swinging?
  9. ok, most/many of them came around. others bailed.
  10. this. both sides know we need better and i don't think that anyone will mind at all as long as the guy is better. many people didn't want Cam in here and were diehard against him, but once he started breaking records and looked like a star, they changed their minds either about what pigeonhole they had locked him into or about how successful he could be. QBs have to be mobile. QBs have to be smart. QBs have to be able to sit back in the pocket and able to bail and keep the ball alive when that pocket collapses. QBs have to know when and be able to take advantage of space as a passer and a runner and be able to, in one way or another, move the ball down field. they have to be capable of doing it all as a passer and as a runner (as needed) and they need to be able to adapt what they are doing based on what defenses are giving them. they've also got to have the moxie to take over a team, put it on his shoulders, and will it to win.
  11. i've been trying to keep out of this discussion because i've always had a poor impression of polian. the guy lucked out on manning (being put in a situation where he could draft him) but he was never really able to build well around him. which is kind of funny for him to talk about a QB is only as good as the team around him because he just didn't pull it off very well. i'll keep my other thoughts about him out of it, but i'll just reiterate that i think Polian and his legacy is overrated.
  12. we put our money on the wrong horse(s). could you imagine where we would have been had we fired Hurney and Rivera and replaced them with Beane and McDermott?
