Can you name the 1 Offensive Tackle on our roster that was actually drafted?

pect him to fix the problem and  improve the offensive line. i expect him to value the need enough to do what it takes to make it better.

i expect  problems to be fixed. not ignored.

i'm not asking for perfect, i'm asking for better and at least an effort. i'm asking to be proactive in addressing it, rather than the passive route we take.

Have no problem with that. It is just a difference of perspective to me. I am not an analytical type so I feel as long as I see the results on the field. Don't care how the players were acquired.

Drafting tackles is not the issue. It is getting GOOD tackles that is the issue. Gettlemen obviously felt that none of the tackles after the first round were good enough for protecting Cam. So what will he do. He will use free agency to go after tackles. That are already proven. Not unknowns. It makes perfect sense to me. He knows that Cam Newton is our QB and that a QB needs to be protected in order for them to succeed. If Cam fails, Gettleman will be the first one out the door. Trust me.

I bet you we sign 1-2 UDFA tackles, and Gettleman closes the book on tackles until 2015 at the earliest. I see it going down exactly like that.

If he does not address it in FA. It means he is content with are our current O-line.

Or it could mean there isn't anything we can do about it at this point, and we will just have to get by until the Cap issues abate or we have a good opportunity to pick up someone who is worth the draft pick we use.

Agreed.

The only year I ever recall us filling all our needs in the offseason was 2003.

Needed OT: Drafted Jordan Gross

Needed QB: Signed Jake Delhomme

Needed RB: Signed Stephen Davis

Needed WR: Signed Ricky Proehl

How did we do that year? We went to the fuging Super Bowl!!!

That works too. I just want people to be clear with my perspective. I do not care how Gettlemen acquires our players. Except maybe when it comes to quarterback. If we need a quarterback I expect Gettlemen to draft one in the first round. Most GM's share this philosophy because they know the value of a quarterback. There is a clear difference Between a Cam Newton and a Andy Dalton. Then a difference between Dalton and a T.J. Yates.  To me there was not a clear difference between a Tiny Richardson and James Hurst. What I am trying to do is understand Gettelmen's plan. I can accept that I do not know as much as he does. If I know more than him. Then the Panthers are in serious trouble. So I will always defer to his insight until he proves otherwise by having consecutive losing seasons like Marty Hurney. I just want the Panthers to win football games. It is nice to talk about projecting a player, but once it leads to bickering, I just look for a common goal. Most of us  just want the Panthers to win.

I think so too. I am happy with the picks we got. A lot of upside from each player.
