Carson Palmer is the most OVERPAID QB in NFL history

So let me get this straight. Carson Palmer will make 16.2 mill this season? More than Brady, Manning, & McNabb? Can someone explain to me why? What has this guy ever done to warrant that salary let alone be considered a top 5 QB? How many playoff games has he won? What is his overall record as a starting QB in this league? Did he not lead the league in INTs in 07 and is coming off a season where he only played 3 games in 08? I cant think of any other QB in the last 10-15 years who's been paid so much and been praised so much for doing so little. Palmer is the most overpaid QB in the league clearly, and is also one of the most overrated. Dude is Drew Bledsoe Lite, a QB who needs perfect protection to make an impact and is about as good a leader as Drew was. This guy should be the posterchild of the overhyped overrated QB who cant get his team over the hump. But he isnt. This should be a do or die year for Carson coming off an injury and 3 straight years with no playoff appearances. But it isnt. Can someone please explain maybe why?

I'll see your Carson Palmer and raise you one Matthew Stafford and his $72 million/ $41.7 mil guaranteed before ever taking one snap in the NFL.

He gets paid because he plays in Cincinnatti. He is a better than average QB when healthy and given adequate protection, and nobody's beating down the FO's doors to play there, so they have to pay him to stay. There are plenty of teams that would love to have him and management knows it. If they lose him, who are they gonna get? Vick? Please.

    • Smitty carrying that tank around...can't stay young forever.
    • While I agree with you in spirit my gut and my heart says I'm not falling for this again until I see consistent results across the entire upcoming season. Then I'll breathe a sigh of relief and truly feel better about the future.
    • After some time to process and also in light of other small markets being successful and not requiring top overall picks to compete. This years finals looming large. While I readily acknowledge the league office clearly despises our franchise and has absolutely no qualms about us getting the short end of any stick in the draft lottery. The Hornets may just be doomed regardless due to their own mismanagement and inability to draft and develop legitimate playoff worthy talent. And we seemingly always pick the wrong player in the draft. I mean at this point we can even take a hard look at the 2020 draft and someone like Haliburton going pick 12 while Ball went 3rd. Did we draft the wrong guy or are we just that inept at any level of talent development or is it a mixture of both? Looks the latter right now.
